Hello Snowbirds!

I just checked my email and I recieved something about the 2009 disney mom's panel.....telling me that I didn't win  So if anyone else entered, maybe there's good news in your email boxes! Good Luck!

Do they give instructions on how to make the t-shirt designs?

To put the design on the t-shirt, the transfer papers have directions on them. We usually always do "dark transfer paper" because for us, it's just easier to use. Plus I used a "light" one and it basically fell apart during the day.

As for making the "design" there are a ton of options all over the place. Sometimes we just take simple pictures and make shirts out of those. I guess a lot of people use programs and stuff. I don't actually make the designs though, I leave that to the smart people!:thumbsup2

:confused3

I agree! Some of the other boards get so nasty! I've never been able to enjoy a mostly chatty board like this one. Sometimes you get those knowitalls who just need to rub it in everyone elses faces that they think they know more than you....and more often than not I've found more reliable sources that prove their wrong! :confused3

:grouphug: :hippie: It's all about the snowbird love.

QOTD? Can someone please repeat it, I must have missed it!

Oooh I saw that, and it looks awesome! I also just DESPARATELY HAD TO HAVE a Molly at about age 12. I still have her to this day! Now there are so many American Girls I can't keep up! I remember when it was just five!

I have Molly, too. I love her!

I had an American Girl of Today and LOOOOOVED it!

I always loved Felicity though, her clothes were just so pretty!

Ok, it's Graduation Audit time.
Hopefully this evening, I will officially be on my way to being a college grad!

Catch everyone later!

I loved my American Girl dolls! I got Kirsten first and then Felicity. When they first came out with the Girls of Today, I got one and named her Selena. I didn't pick one that looked like me at all. She was just so pretty that I just had to have her. My dolls are still all packed up and at my parents house. My mom bought my DD the Bitty Baby a few years ago. She plays with her every now and then. In a few years, I will probably get her one. I get the catalog in the mail and I like some of the new girls they've come out with. The books are so great too!

Buffalo gets such a bad rap for snow! Syracuse gets TONS more! Anyways.....it might snow here tonight and I'm not looking foward to it. It's not supposed to be anything measurable, but it still stinks!

.

Meghan you are sooooooooooo right... I grew up in Buffalo and now live north of Syracuse.... we get way more snow..... I remember last year one weekend we had 48 inches in 48 hours.... yup we are talking 4 feet of snow people in a weekend..... it was crazy...

This could very likely be the only board on here that never argues!! Nobody here is stubborn or hard-headed. It's really nice :lovestruc

I think even if we started to discuss pool-hopping, it would be a nice :rotfl:
popcorn:: :rotfl:

Me too..... I was so excited to see an email from DIsney Destinations.... thinking it might be a code.... and it was a rejection notice......:sad2: no Moms Panel for me...... thats okay.... I would have rather it been a code for 40% off and free dining....

Off to Marching Band - in the 40 degrees weather..... see ya all later.........

I remember living in Syracuse as a kid and we had a snow storm on my mom's birthday, on March 15th! The snow was up to the eaves of the house. We could hardly see out the windows and when we opened the garage door, we came face to face with a wall of snow! I enjoyed all the snow as a kid, but now that I have to drive in it, it's not so much fun. However, I can't even imagine living anywhere else. I adore Buffalo! I love the change of seasons (snow and all) and all the different types of food available. I'm like a walking tourism video for Buffalo!

Holy cow! I was just over on the passporter boards because I was bored and found something amazing!!!! Actually, I guess it was posted on the DIS first. 50% off flights on Southwest flying out of Buffalo!!!!!!!
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=28279227&posted=1#post28279227

When my DH gets home from grad school, he's going to see how much Jet Blue would charge us to cancel our flights. This would save us about $300 on airfare! That's how much a rental car is going to cost us! This just made my evening. I was looking foward to flying on JetBlue (tvs at every seat, lots of leg room, etc), but I'm always looking to save money! Plus, I can get nonstop flights! I just wanted to share this with everyone. I know that this can't help out most of you, but just in case anyone lives near Buffalo, this could save you big bucks!

Not to beat a dead horse.... but regarding the conversation last night....

I would just like to admit that I felt very left out when everyone was talking binders. I do not have a binder.:sad2: In fact, I don't know why I still talk to you binder-lovers. (Going off in my corner to cry now....)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

OMG! I don't do binders either! I'm so LEFT OUT ALL THE TIME EVERYTHING!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

note that i am only poking fun at me

I agree! I love our board. I appreciate everyone being so understanding of one another.

If only our country could get it together like the Snowbirds.

Would we get anything done or would we Disney-fy the country?! ;)

I’m just catching up on some posts. My Husband (who worked for Nintendo for six years) said the DS screen is much brighter, and it is much lighter. It also comes pink!:thumbsup2

*hugs her pink DS Lite* :D

Oh - I am so far behind, so I won't even bother looking for posts to quote ....

CAMERA - We have the Canon PowerShot that we bought for the same reason as the poster (Sarbah77? Sorry if it was someone else, my brain is fried these days). We have a SLR we love (Canon Digital Rebel), but didn't want to lug it around. We have been happy with the PowerShot...

I need to start doing this :surfweb: a little more...

Yup, it was me! We have a Powershot that we love except it's kind of busted and we were told it would cost more to repair than replace. I'm looking for about the $100 range (or so). My DH has an iPhone that he will. not. put. down. I mean, we were in Alaska and he'd step in front of me and big ol' camera to take pictures with his PHONE. And every time, he admitted I took better pictures. To make a long story short (too late!), I don't want to spend a lot on a p&s that he won't ever use!

Less than 5 hours until my MRI!

Hi Fellow January travelers: Just checking in to see what is up with everyone. I have been really busy the past few months - rehearsing for a musical (Crazy for You) that finally went up this weekend. Had a blast - tap danced with the young'uns in one of the numbers, but I don't remember ever being this tired after doing a show (could it be that I am on the down-side of 50 now??) Now that it is over, I can get back to planning for our trip. Need to make a few more ADR's, and then start planning our days. Getting excited, as is D, who took my new 2009 Disney guide back to college with her this past weekend. Oh, and contemplating auditioning for our spring show - guess what it is?? (hint - look at my countdown calendar below for the lady in yellow!) Not a soprano, so Mrs. Potts is out - but thinking that just being in the ensemble would be fun! Looking forward to reading about everyone's plans the next few months.

Hi everybody. I can't keep up here! I can't believe how many pages get added in a day when I am at work!

QOTD - I know I am late to chime in here, but I love thinking about how I will relax after a day in the parks. I'm closing my eyes, picturing us sitting by the pool with a magazine or Ipod, people watching, with a snack and a drink. Of course, we usually go in Sept when the weather is hot. Will I be able to do this in Jan?

OK I have a weird question: Has anyone bought one of those big balloons for their kids? If so, how do you travel back home with it?

One of my cousins maintained that you would be able to take it on the plane with you, still blown up.

Wow - that seems like it would be crazy! I googled it and saw Virgin allows only un-inflated balls and balloons as carry-ons. I would have to imagine other airlines would be the same...

First - GOOD LUCK with your MRI!!!

Second - ugh - don't you hate when things cost more to repair than replace?! We had an Apple laptop for a lovely, brief moment last year until it was found sitting in a puddle of wine (ahem).:confused3 They wanted $500 more to replace it than it would cost to buy a new one.

Now I only drink at the desktop...:surfweb: (replace coffee cup with wineglass...):cutie:

It is so nice to hear someone speak posititve of Buffalo :thumbsup2 I have only been here a few months and I enjoy it, but most of the people always say bad things about Buffalo.

I try to never bash Buffalo. Too many Buffalonians do that, and it's not cool with me. Glad to hear that you're enjoying Buffalo so far! It's a great place.

So far so good but it is cold tonight and I think I see snow:eek: I am scared of my first winter here.............

Monny I have the same red mickey T its hidden in my closet so that I can wear it once before DD steals it from me. Wal mart has a TON of Disney zip up hoodies right now in the ladies/teens section.
I have to go there later this week to get my niece the Camp Rock DVD for her birthday so I just might have to sneak a peek in the ladies dept. and check them out! Thanks for the heads up! :thumbsup2
Oh boy are you going to be sorry you asked!!!

I have been on the DISings board here on the DIS where a bunch of people will DISign shirts and just about anything for you.

I have 3 sets of shirts made for each person in my group according to their likes and dislikes. Nice thing is we won't look like everyone else :)

I have candy bar wrappers so I can leave candy on the pillows of everyone in my group at night. We are DVC so no turndown or chocolates on the pillows.

I also made pillowcases for two little girls who just got back from WDW and had characters and their names put on them...then had character signatures on them!

The stuff on the pillowcases and t-shirts I did on iron transfers made from my printer!

I have birthday magnets with Disney characters for our door! and cling on for our windows!!!

Yes, I am a busy lady...some of this is all done some I am still working on!!!!

Best t-shirt DISign I have printed out is the princess' being silly saying "Girl's just Want to have fun!"

Ok, I am out if here!!! Got to make my 1 hour commute home...pick up the kids, get them dinner, get dressed and meet DH and his boss for dinner...YUCK!!!! See you ladies later!

Steal away these woman do them and they come out awesome! One lady also makes invites to dinners and events, they are awesome. I am having one done for my friend for our birthday dinner. She has no clue what we are doing!!!!!

I have some for my kids and their favorite dinner places!

I wanted to get a lanyard because now at EMH or is it LEH (late evening hours) they ask to look at the keys from your hotel at each ride, instead of wrist bands. I figured if I didn't do the lanyards with the zip;ock part then someone was bound to lose a key!!! (probably me!!!)

We have one day when we all wear the same shirt.

Oh, to whoever brought up scrapbooks/photo albums...
I am a scrapper too and I have done two disney trips in an album. I quit doing my kids individual ones because the Disney one was Way more fun!! I vowed to try to get caught up on their books before I started another vacation one, but jeez, we went on a Carnival cruise last year (and I bought the kit of course) and now we have another WDW and cruise trip coming!!! I better get to work - I have years worth to get through in three months!!! Plus all my DISing to keep up with. I hope work doesn't get too busy! it will interfere with my fun!

Another thing - we are bringing either a photo mat (you know that fits inside a frame) or pillowcases with Sharpies on our cruise. Apparently you can leave them with the desk and they have the characters sign and return to you before the last day. No lugging stuff around! So when we're at WDW, we'll just do pictures. We have many autographs from the first two trips anyway.

Hi Monny. I plan on making a few T-shirts. For DDs birthday, we're all going to wear matching shirts. Hers will say Today's my Birthday and the rest of ours will say Today's Lauren's Birthday. There's a fantastic Disney Clip Art web site that has character art for occasions, so there's some great B'day artwork to use. I"m also doing sweatshirts for us, probably hoodies, that will have something like one big Disney D, then say D..s (our last name), Do Disney January 2009. One of my graphic designer friends is going to do the logo. I may do a more, depends on whether or not I can find the time to do it.

***If anyone wants t-shirt design ideas, head over to the DISigns page. They are amazing there and have great ideas! Plus they are so easy to make.

There is a "how to" post on the board, and if you need any help, I will help with whatever I can :)

There is an entire board here that is dedicated to designing stuff... Go to the board below and get lots of ideas and help! They are a great group of people!

WOW SUCH AWESOME IDEAS!!!!!! Thanks so much. I'm going as a Grand Gatherings with my parents and sister and would love to do something fun! Thanks for posting the link- I'm heading over there as soon as my kids hit the hay! I love the chocolate bar idea and the group t shirt idea and the pillowcase idea!!!! I would love to make a shirt for my hubby's birthday but I'm sure he would kill me. His favorite character is the Prospector from Toy Story. He can make me laugh at the weirdest times just by saying "My biscuits are burnin'!" I thought of making him a shirt with the Prospector but I don't think he'll wear it.

I found this site a few days ago while searching for digital scrapbook stuff and I think it's associated with the Dis? I noticed Sharadoc's Mickey Ear avatar on there so I assume so. And I used the Mickey Star for my avatar- those are some cute Dis-igns!
