MEN!! And they say that WE can't keep our mouths shut! (oh wait . . . maybe that's just me) Glad you were able to cover for him!

Great line from Muppets Wizard of Oz tonight:

Question - Why are women so complicated?
Answer - They're not - it just seems that way because men are so simple.

:rotfl: That is great! I'm so going to have to remember that one!!:rotfl:

We did a surprise cruise for my little sister last October. It was for her 13th b-day - the surprise went just the way Mom and I planned it. She though that just our older sister and I were going...she was very upset by this. Would ge mad and leave the room if the trip was brought up. We started planning for her and my mom to join us in June...very long summer keeping the secret. It was even more difficult when it came time to pack...she kept looking for the clothes that we had already packed in the suitcase. We always stay at a hotel the night before our early flights and take their free shuttle (this is also why we can't take coats and leave them in the car...no car to leave them in). Anyways when we got to the hotel she didn't even want to up up to the room to say good-bye...didn't want to get out the car. Mom told her she needed to help carry the luggage in. When mom handed her, her Cinderella totebag, she wanted to know why we needed to take her bag...Mom told her we didn't need it she did. It took about a minute for the shock to register and then she burst into tears. I wish we could have video taped it...it was great.

We aren't doing the surprise thing this time...at 14 I think she would be on to us. It was great the first time.

I hope y'all have great reactions from your kids.

I went on the Disney website to order maps yesterday and it would only let me pick travel dates to the end of December. I'm hoping they will put up January dates in time for our maps to arrive.

:bday: to Georgia Kate (love the name)

:welcome: to anyone new.

Shelly, I think it's exciting that you are going to spring such a nice surprise on your kids. My DD was so happy when I told her we were taking her after Christmas, and she is in college :lmao:

Hey, hey, hey! I take offense! I'm in college and I still beg my parents to take me to Disney! :confused3

JK- that's awesome that your daughter gets to go in January! And I'm 89 days to go, too!

Hi, Snowbirds! Hope all is well! Today is Georgia Kate's big day! She has preschool, so we're going to decorate a little and Scot's going to bake her ice cream cone cupcakes! And then we'll take her to a local fast food restaurant that we adults hate, but that our kids absolutely love. :rolleyes1 Then she can come home and open a present or two. The packages from the grandparents didn't make it. Neither did the one from my sister. So, she's only got a gift or two here to open.

This happens every year as her birthday falls during the flurry of Jewish holidays, so mail moves much slower. Hopefully none of her gifts got lost in the mail! My mom and in-laws went together and shipped the gifts in one box. They mailed out two weeks ago yesterday. In our 4 years here we've only ever had one package go completely missing and it was something I ordered on ebay. I'm not 100% convinced the seller shipped it. So, I know the package will come. Just might sit in Tel Aviv for a few more days....or weeks!:scared1:

In any event, birthdays are happy times! I love to see kids faces when people wish them Happy Birthday! I only wish we were closer to family to celebrate!:sad1: It isn't easy living so far away.

I sent my flight info to my TA, Ric. He's making sure everything is all taken care of! My cousin is getting married this week in Texas and my mom was able to be there with my Na-na! They flew out yesterday! I was so happy because my uncle is not well and no one expected him to live to the wedding! So, my Na-na gets to see him again. And the whole family gets to be together for the big celebration! YEAH!

Okay...off to get ready to take Georgia Kate to school and start the real fun of the day! Hope you all have a great day!:goodvibes

Good morning Snowbirds! :goodvibes

 Good Morning Shelly!! and Good Morning to the rest of the Snowbirds lurking about this morning!!

Boy, I'm such a waffler!! I keep changing my ADRs to different times...I'm going to have to stop this and just be content with what I have LOL!!! Sometimes this planning kills me LOL!!!

LOL Shawna, no he's not adopted, but there have been times we've wondered :rotfl: :rotfl: Seriously he's a good kid, just not a disney fan. He doesn't have to go with us anymore cause he's 21 now and will baby sit the cats :woohoo: Hopefully he won't marry a disney nut, well maybe he should and I'll take her to Disney :lmao:

robin

That would be pure irony!!! We can dream!!

Hey~ where in Texas? I'm here!!!! Sending Georgia Kate another :bday: and enjoy all your goodies!! :cake: I love my kids to enjoy their bdays too-but I always get a little teary:sad1: I hate thinking of them leaving the nest!!!
I know it's got to be hard for you to be so far away!! Well, here's hugs from me to you:hug: I'll say a prayer for you!!!

Morning Snowbirds:goodvibes How come some of the tickers move faster than others? Mine is not catching up!!!

Well, more school today and of course, more:laundy: I did about 5 loads yesterday-so I have about 1 million to do today!! The weather here yesterday was beautiful!! Today too--only the high is still in the upper 80s!!! I am envious of all you 'north' people getting out those jackets and long sleeves!!! I am really hoping that down here we get a real fall and a true winter!!! I am so sick of humidity and hot. Lord, we don't get enough of the good stuff. And snow---a real snow----never seen one:sad2: It's really pitiful!!

Well, ya'll have a great day and I'll check back in a while!!

That's strange that it wouldn't let you choose January dates. I ordered my maps in July for January. Hmmm...that's so weird. I'll look into it though.

I cheated and put my dates in for Jauary for Dec. I want them for scrap booking anyway. If Jan opens my friend will order them for us! Morning everyone!

How rude of me.....GOOD MORNING SNOWBIRDS!!!!! It's a gorgeous day here in WNY. It's supposed to get to about 65 degrees or so and the sun is already shining. I have some last minute things to do for my sister's wedding day. First on the list, wait until 10am when my salon opens to see if they can squeeze me in for a manicure! I still have to find a purse that matches my dress (so frustrating!). I also need to finalize my speech (it just needs some refining). I'm so excited for my sister! The weather is supposed to be wonderful for Saturday. Highs near 72!!! Well, off to get myself together for the day. Be back later!

Have a great day everyone!

The dates don't really matter. The maps don't have the dates on them or anything. I made an itinerary on the website and that's where the dates come into play. When I log on, it tells me how many days until my vacation. You will LOVE the maps. They are so neat!

After 3 years in Alaska and enough real snow to last me a life time (the last winter we were there we got over 180inches of snow during the winter LOL), Florida is just perfect for me. Although I find it sort of depressing that I get out of my car and wish I was wearing my coat when its like 70 degress outside. This Florida weather is turning me into a pansy LOL!!! (We'd run around Anchorage in shorts when it would hit 40 degrees outside LOL) I don't know how I would handle being up North again. But to be honest there are some days I really really miss the snow, its so pretty!!!

I know I simply adore my maps!! Enjoy this weekend and your sister's celebration!!! Give her a big congratulations!! I'm sure your speech is just lovely and I hope your whole family has a great time!!! *Crosses fingers* that you can get in for that manicure and find the perfect purse!!!

:cake:HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SWEET GEORGIA KATE!:cake:
(I even did this in Georgia font. Hehe!)

It's so good to have you back Soleil!!! We sure have been chatty lately. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that you were missed.

I'll trade with you!!!!!!!! You come live here from about mid October through April. Be sure to remember to get the kids Halloween costumes big enough to fit winter jackets underneath!:rotfl: :rolleyes1 :headache:

Seriously though, sure you may think the snow is pretty...but I HATE it. I mean its great when school gets canceled because the temp/wind chill is to cold.

Good morning everyone!

Happy Birthday Georgia Kate!!!

I got called into work already this morning.:sad2: I'm really sick of them knowing that I need money so they can call me whenever and I'll pretty much work. Of course there are times when I can't but then my boss gets mad and won't talk to me for a week ( I know, very mature, but whatever). Everyone have a great day.

P.S....there's baseball on tonight!!!
I do love baseball!:cloud9:
