January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part II !!!

Okay!

So here I am!

Finally!

My evening was unexpectedly railroaded by yet another trip to the ER! This time not for me! While at school today my DD5 had a little fall and bumped her chin on the play equipment outside at lunch time. The teacher didn't think it was too bad, put a band aid on it and called it good. When I picked her up at the end of the day she told me about it and I looked at it and it didn't look that bad so I let it go. Well, at swimming, half way through her lesson, the lifeguard pulls her out of the water because her cut is open and bleeding quite freely! He calls me into the first aid room and tells me I should take her to the ER and have a docter look at it! Okey Dokey! So we wait 10 mins for DD7 to finish her lesson and then go home, grab DD5's health card, DH (whom I had called on the cell on the way home) had a bag all ready with toys and snacks and we were off! Too make a very long story really short, we waited and waited, finally saw a Doctor, she got 3 stitches and we arrived back at home before 9pm! We left the house @ 530! I AM EXHAUSTED! I needed to vent and I knew I could get some love from my snowbird peeps! Well, I am now off to bed! As peaches would say - Catch ya on the flipside!

Awww Kim, sorry to hear about your evening, but I'm very glad to hear your DD is doing okay!! Hopefully you had a relaxful evening!! I'm just getting up now and getting ready to head to the classroom!! I hope all you wonderful snowbirds have a great day!!!

Thanks Jen! She is still sleeping right now so we will see how she is when she wakes up! She doesn't have school today ao that's good - she can take it easy today!

Favourite fireworks - I've only ever seen illuminations! Liked it a lot but I am very much looking forward to seeing Wishes! I don't think we will be seeing Fantamic this time - just not enough time!

Hope everyone had a good day/night. I'm up late from watching baseball all night. The Red Sox won!

Ok well goodnight ladies.

...I went to bed. My Red Sox generally do better when I'm not watching, especially in a close game!! Luckily, my DH was up watching his MN Vikings beat New Orleans (how'd THAT happen?!), so when the alarm went off this morning, the first thing he said was "The Red Sox won." Is that love, or what? (It took a few more sentances before he told me about the Vikings )

So, they defeated the Angels who'd beaten them 8 of 9 games during the regular season. Now on to Tampa Bay!

Yes, I live in Michigan. But, come on, we've got the hapless Tigers and the sad Lions. I'll keep my hometown teams this year!!!

...I went to bed. My Red Sox generally do better when I'm not watching, especially in a close game!! Luckily, my DH was up watching his MN Vikings beat New Orleans (how'd THAT happen?!), so when the alarm went off this morning, the first thing he said was "The Red Sox won." Is that love, or what? (It took a few more sentances before he told me about the Vikings )

So, they defeated the Angels who'd beaten them 8 of 9 games during the regular season. Now on to Tampa Bay!

But we are huge Red Wings fans in my house and I think for Christmas I'm getting my hubby NHL Center Ice so he can watch all of their games live. It is yet to be determined if that will be a good thing or a bad thing...its safe to say it gets a bit intense in my house during Red Wings games!!

They called me back already this morning. Here is the information on all the easy events if you want to think about it.

Here’s what I found out:

1. The Grand Gathering Events are “mixed” with other groups – they are not exclusive events, unless we wanted to set up something with an individual sales agent, which has minimum charges for food and drink.
2. At this time, there is NO availability for the Illuminations Dinner and viewing during that time. If we really want to do that one, I can keep calling to find if they added another one
3. There is availability for the other events, as follows:
- Fireworks Voyage - 23rd, 24th 25th, 26th This will be available to everyone in March 2009 as part of the Celebration theme (under a different name).
- Safari – 25th and 29th
- MK Character Breakfast 24th and 28th. At this time, they don’t have information on a replacement attraction for Mickey’s Philharmagic

You can use dining credits if you want for the meals. Illuminations and Safari are 2TS, Breakfast is 1TS. If you pay OOP, you have to pay for it within a week of the reservation.

If you'd like to pursue this further, we can do it via PM or e-mails, so we don't clog up the thread!!! Just send me a PM with your ideas and we'll take it from there.

I hope we can do something together.

Sharadoc--Oh what excitement!!! You are a genius!!! I do hope it can become a reality. Our family would love to do a Grand Gathering as a DIS meet. We too can do it on the 25th

Or if you think any other one is more suitable for everyone or a unique one yet to be discovered, we are down with that.

Our only problem is our family needs to do this OOP if possible. Could you pay for it OOP if you wish? I think it is 2 credits if you can't correct? I don't know if DH would be that excited loosing 2 credits.

YEAH... sounds like we have some interested peps.... if we did the Fireworks Cruise (which we have done - its great) then it doens't matter if you have park hoppers or not because we get picked up at either the Grand Floridan or Contemporary I believe.... no park passess are required for this one!!!

We would be up for something on SUnday the 25th as long as it was later in the day.... we arrive at about 10am then by the time we get to the hotel and get checked in.... we would be available for something in the late afternoon or evening..... the 29th is out for us as that is DS 16th birthday and we have reservations at California Grill at his request.... but if that is what works out for everyone else we understand.....
