HI JEN! I totally recommend the Passporter! It is AWESOME! The other one I like is The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World (2009) - loads of info, plus touring plans and free access to their website with more Touring Plans! :woohoo: :cool1:

Have fun shopping, my friend! Report back with your purchases! :)

Agree with the Passporter :thumbsup2 - get a spiral or binder one with the pockets and all. It's really well organized and ALMOST could replace my trip binder (not really, but ALMOST). :rotfl: I may be using the Passporter when I'm in the parks, though, using it as a portable binder.

I think it's easier to read books at your leisure, rather than constantly read everything online. Then use the online sites to supplement with the details. If you only read the books, you only know about 20% of the story!

Ok, I didn't feel like multi-quoting, so I'm just going to respond to some stuff that I've read:

Rental cars- My family has always rented a car. We have only stayed on property twice, but we still got a car. This is the first time we're going to Disney without my parents! :scared1: We are planning on renting a car and I've investigated the codes on mousesavers and they're pretty good. There are also coupons in Entertainment books that are great as well. We plan on using a GPS which we will add on for about $50 for the whole week. All you have to do is plug in where you want to go (MK, Epcot, etc) and most of the time it's already in there. Very easy to use and great directions!

I also am hoping that Disney will release some P&PP dates for the end of Jan. pirate: princess: As of right now, the MK closes at 8pm the entire last week. I'm hoping that they will change one or two days to 7pm!

Jen- I have the Unofficial Guide 2009 and a Passporter. I love them both! I pre-ordered the 2009 passporter and it's supposed to ship on Oct 15th. I recently bought the 2007 deluxe version because it was on clearance and I wanted to check it out. I'm looking foward to the updated version!

I too love Sleeping Beauty! It's my favorite Disney princess movie! For one of my ballet classes last year, I used the Sleeping Beauty Waltz ("I know you"). They wore white tutus with tiaras and were gorgeous!

I hope to start writing a PTR of my own soon. First, I need to get through my jam packed October! Sister's wedding, DD's 6th birthday and birthday party, dance team try outs!!!!!! I don't mind being busy though. It makes time go by much faster!

I always put all my reward dollars on a Rewards card and order it about a month before the trip.

You can use it just about anywhere on WDW property! Yep, it's just like a gift card.

Perhaps what I'll do is pay off the trip so that I can get the reward dollars in plenty of time.

I must admit that I am so envious of all you American snowbirds with your Disney Visa Rewards cards! :guilty: I sure wish I could have one! WARNING: I will now say the unmentionable phrase....... IT'S NOT FAIR! okay I'm done my hissy fit!

Here, here! I second that! I LOVE the PASSPORTER! :) I, too plan to take my passporter along with me into the parks! It has the best maps I have ever seen and their rating system for restaurants is not to be outdone! 3 cheers for Dave & Jennifer! Hip Hip Hooray! :cheer2:

I can't even think about Christmas shopping yet! I do about 90% of mine on Black Friday (day after Thanksgiving). I get up at the crack of dawn and head to the mall. If I get there by 6am, I'm home by about 9am. I make a list of everything I need and just hop to it. I do most of my shopping at Old Navy (great deals and an extra 20% off of everything helps!). Last year, I shopped in the morning, came back home and went to bed, and then had to work for 4 hours.

Hey I just noticed! We are on Page 100! In less than 2 weeks! Seriously, if we keep going at this rate we will be onto PART III by Halloween! :rotfl: Part IV before Christmas! :lmao: Will we even need a part V? Perhaps for those of us who are going nearer to the end of the month!

I love the pass pockets in the back of the deluxe version. I plan on taking one pocket with me each day. That way, my bag won't get too heavy. :)

I just got the free dining in December offer again! If I was actually going to be on the same continent as Disney during the time of the offer, I'd consider changing my reservation. Unfortunately, it's not going to work out! Where are the January offers????:rolleyes1

It came from Disney Destinations again...

Yeah, I've received two of those emails so far. And my Best friend-I-travel-to-Disney-with (as opposed to the best friend who's a stepdad to 3!) has received one. She's, unfortunately, going on a business trip to South Africa soon (!!!) and my boss won't let me take time off in December (...and I work in academia!) so we get these emails and can't do anything with them. Very sad face!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. :flower3: I'm back and I must say my dentist is fabulous! He said everything went well, but that I'll be sore for a while. He gave me prescriptions for pain and also antibiotics (there must have been some icky in there), so I should be all good.

Snowbirds are the best! :grouphug:

Yay, glad to hear it went well!!!

My office just had a chocolate crisis. As in, we had NONE. Luckily, a coworker who was at the doctor (and thus, unaware of the crisis) brought back a bag of mini-Milky Way candies. Whew! Monday afternoon crisis averted!!

We sure are a talkative bunch! I'm going to need this thread right up until the moment I get on my plane!

Hey, peeps, can you imagine what our thread will look like in JANUARY???? The flurry of activity! The sharing of the FUN! Oh, I can.not.wait!!!!:woohoo:

WOW 100 pages in like 2 weeks!! :hyper2:

:rotfl2:

I was posting the same thought as you at the same time!! :lmao:

You know what they say - great minds think alike! :goodvibes

Hey Shelly, I have a Disney Visa question and you seem like the one who would have the answer? I don't have a Disney Visa, but I've been thinking more and more about it just because of the code and what not. What is the rate between rewards dollars and dollars spent. Hubby and I have an Alaska Airline card and we get 1 mile per dollar spent? So how do these Rewards work for Visa?

Thank you! I'll check it out after I pick up DDs from school and bring DD9 back for basketball practice an hour later, but before DD6 has gymnastics! *pant, pant*
