Quick question - Is anyone planning on decorating their windows and door while they are there? If so what do you use? I want to make some window clings and small signs, but I'm not sure where to begin. I found the dis. board for designers but it's a little overwhelming.

Ok off to bed, I have a job interview in the morning...hopefully I get it so I can pay for my trip. Wish me luck and send some pixie dust my way.

Ahhh wish you DS a Happy Birthday!!!! Have a great time making treats and I hope your son has all of his wishes come true!

I'm going to head to the school and setup for my substitute (even though I know they can handle it) I just like making sure everything is clear LOL!! I love my job and hate to leave my room!

I too have some laundry I must do and then mom (when she wakes up vacation is the only time she gets to sleep in so I'm letting her LOL) and I are going to go celebrate our birthdays with a nice lunch by the water!! Her birthday is at the end of September and mine is today so we're going to go have a great chicken salad sandwich and split some yummy bread pudding!

Then we're walking to take all of that off LOL!!

I'm up to standard house stuff (way behind, too much DISing ) and DD9 has a basketball game after school. It's their first home game.

He wants Mickey-head sugar cookies for his school treats. So that will take awhile. When I make sugar cookies I usually make my great-grandmother's secret family recipe. They are very hard to make (very time consuming) and it seems that I am the only one in the entire family that can get it right(since she is no longer with us). So therefore I have to make some for everyone when I make them! Plus I am making a homemade ice cream cake. Only the second time I have made this, but it is pretty easy. I will take the cookies to the school tomorrow after lunch. We will have the ice cream cake tomorrow night. Then we are going to Chuck E Cheese Saturday.

Wow! I just made cupcakes! DD9 wanted my cut-out cookies, but she changed her mind and decided on cupcakes. They were fun, at least, and the kids liked them.

I too have house work to get done today. And I have a Dr.s Appointment--so I gotta get these kids up & at 'em!! I'll be back to visit later. I will have to wade through about 15 pages I'm sure!! Don't have tooooo much fun without me!!

I am still SO MAD about Mickey's Philharmagic!!!



Okay, that was my tantrum for the day!!

So Dumbo really is only closed for one day? Yeah! I was worried. I really want to ride Dumbo with my kids!

So, what am I up to today? Well, I've got all kinds of reports to finish for the end of last month. I also have to write the syllabus for my English classes which begin next week. I volunteered to lead the English club for 5th graders at my kids' elementary school. They invited my oldest 2 kids to participate too. It's good to have native speaker exposure. So, I have to plan out that lesson. I might leave that until tomorrow!

And my dream is always to get some scrapbooking done. Don't know if that will happen!


Yesterday we got to visit with friends at their home in the West bank. What a fun day! We ate wonderful food that never ended! We got to meet their relatives and just enjoy some out of the city time. We also got to help one family pick their olives. It's early, but they run the olive press in the village, and they have to run a tree worth of olives through to get everything ready. They bought a new machine for this year that should help the pressing happen faster! It was a fun day! But I'm still tired! We just go and go and go!

Good Morning Everyone!

What a major bummer, Mickey’s PhilharMagic will be closed! Once we convinced our Kids to wear the glasses, it has been one of their favorites. One bright spot, Splash Mountain will be open . It has been closed the last two Januarys. Now we just have to hope for one of those nice warm January days to get wet!

Disney loves to refurb in January. It has been the only negative of January trips.... But from past experience I will say that often they re-open rides ahead of schedule. So maybe, just maybe, Mickey’s PhilharMagic will open a few days early for those of us going towards the end of the month.

Ok. I'm a little mad right now. I just checked the Disney website to see if anything besides the Hall of Presidents is going to be closed while I'm there. Well, it looks like we won't be seeing Mickey's PhilharMagic! It will be closed Jan 18-31st! 2 yrs ago, my DD wouldn't even put on the glasses, so she has never experienced this show. I loved it!

Also, just to let everyone else know, Dumbo will be closed Jan 7th and Splash Mtn will be closed Jan 4-17th.

Oh no!!! My mom will be soooo upset. Her two favorite attractions are now closed during our trip- Philharmonic AND Hall of Presidents. I'm more upset over Philharmonic. That really stinks. Can we demand a partial refund for our park tickets based on mental anguish and heartache?


And thanks for everyone setting my mind at ease about ASMo. I'm sure it will be just fine- it can't be too awful- after all it's Disney. Awful for Disney is still better than some regular hotels.
