Hi everyone, I was gone for a day and it feels like I missed a month of posts!

Just a quick note on the Nintendo DS, I say go for it. Some games are very kid friendly and our 4 year old has been playing with one for the better part of two years. Of course I must qualify my opinion; my Husband was a District Supervisor for Nintendo for 6 years, so we are a bit biased. His Sister worked for the company for 10 years. They are part of the reason for my Husbands Disney addiction. Nintendo's National Meetings were held at WDW every year!.

My kids love their ds lite! The first ds we had lasted 2 years before the screen was broken off by my then 1 year old. But the second one we've had now for nearly 2 years and it's still going strong. The kids love it!

Of course, last year I bought a used Gameboy SP for my younger son. That gets used pretty hard too. They all prefer the lite, but the SP works for my 5 year old most of the time.

We enjoy gameboys because they are portable. We have the Nintendo Gamecube (and will hopefully have the Wii if my sister follows through on her gift idea for Christmas!), so I guess we're big Nintendo fans here!

I think she is new to daycare and probably just very paranoid. Our daycare is the cleanest in the city, not to mention the hardest to get in to.

However, when you put your child in daycare or even school for that matter, they are going to be exposed to germs. That's just a fact of life. Cool your jets, lady!!!!

AND....it's good to expose your children to some of those germs! It helps build up resistance to them. If you've taken your child to the doctor, and they clear you to take them to school/daycare, then that's what matters.

What always annoyed me about daycare when my son was younger were the parents who knew their children were sick and contagious or running a huge fever (or have that flesh-eating fungus ) and they sent them anyway. I just don't understand what some parents are thinking. I know it may be hard for them to get away from work, etc., but is it worth it to expose all the other children!!

I must admit that I get nervous when I see a child with stomach virus symptoms. I'm not excusing snotty behavior, but if I saw a child with diarrhea, I might assume that child was still sick and it would be upsetting to me to have that child with my kids. Knowing the circumstances, and that she wasn't contagious, that's completely fine. But at first glance, a child with diarrhea can make any mother run scared! Stomach issues are the absolute worst!

I'm trying to catch up from the weekend (I was on page 24 ) and I've gotten this far, and just busted out laughing. DD was nursing and had just about dozed off (I know, I shouldn't nurse her to sleep...we're working on it... ) when I started laughing, and now she's wide awake. Oops! Anyway, thanks for a great start to a Monday!

I'm sorry that you had to experience that, it can't be fun at all to deal with that. Especially when you have done all you can having Belle checked out and getting the okay from the doctor LOL!

She wasn't currently having diarrhea, was she? I thought that Bella was just explaining the past diarrhea to the teacher. Maybe I misunderstood.

She is still having poop issues, but Belle has digestive issues. She see's a pediactric GI Specialist. Her tummy doesn't work like every other child, so she is more likely to have yucky diapers post-tummy bug. It's not that she is still sick, it just takes her stomach longer to get back to normal. She has seen both her specialist and pediatrician about this.

Honestly, I don't think it was wise of the daycare teacher to say anything in front of the parent. I know she probably wasn't thinking, but they know DD has digestive issues so to us (that know about the issues) it's not a big deal, but I do see how it would sound bad to another parent that didn't know. Thanks for the insight, Peaches.

Good morning, Snowbirds, and Happy Monday!

Over the weekend I gave DH and the boys the restaurant survey. I had picked eight WDW restaurants I thought we would all enjoy, and asked them to number their top three. (they all ended up picking their top four, because it was too hard to narrow down to three) Of the eight, we all picked the same top four, just in different orders. Guess we all have the same preferences! We'll probably only do a couple of them (plus my birthday dinner at Boma), due to time and budget constraints. Now I have to figure out when we're going to eat where, and make the ADRs. The big winners? Biergarten and Whispering Canyon Cafe!

Being a previous child care provider and a teacher I totally agree...its about discretion. You don't address personal issues in front of parents! That is a just impolite and creates awkward situations and most importantly is an issue of trust. I want my parents to be able to trust me with all things about their kids!!

Too much Disney...bah!! I'm already planning my second trip in 2009. I'm going to go over the holidays so I can see Disney in all of its Christmas glory!!

Plus, hoping for a bouceback in January. I'm talking to DH to make a decision about going back again in 2009 so that we'll be prepared. We still don't know if Free Dining will work for us, though, so I'd rather get a 40% code

DH does love Disney as much as me, and we're hoping the kids will too. We're making up for 12 years without a WDW trip, so it will take a LONG time before it feels like too much!

I completely agree...the teacher should have been more careful. Since you both knew she wasn't contagious, it would have been smart to keep the ailment just between you two. And in fairness to you, that other mother shouldn't have been eavesdropping!

But the first sign of or word about a stomach thing and I flee! It's the only sickness that really makes me cringe. I actually deal with it pretty well and don't get queasy myself, while tending to my kids. But it's awful. Especially when you've got 4 kids and a dh with a weak stomach. If one of them gets it, they all do.

In any event, glad she's feeling better and on the mend!
