Okay, since all the rest of the Snowbirds appear to be busy and aren't coming out to play this evening I guess I will sign off! :rotfl:

Talk to everybody tomorrow! :goodvibes

Oh no -- how can it be, those crocs with socks!
Does Scot's head have rocks?
Should you concoct
A box
With locks
To keep those socks
From those crocs?
Oh the shock,
Of those crocs with socks....

Watch that clock
As it tick-tocks
And the ship that docks
And the chicken that pox
To keep those socks
From those crocs...

Beware the hard knocks
And the DISer that mocks
Those Disney socks
Inside those Disney crocs...

Oh, how can it be - those crocs with socks! :)
:worship: :worship: :rotfl2: :thumbsup2 :lmao:
You are just WAY to talented! That was great! You really need to go post that on every thread that talks about Crocs!

The potluck at church went incredibly well (300 pieces of fried chicken are gone!), so I am relieved. Of course, now everyone wants to do it more frequently! Sigh...

Hope everyone is doing well!

Congrats on a job well done! :cool1: I hope you had time to enjoy yourself! (and I hope they don't rope your wonderful self into things you don't want to do! Ahhh the pleasures of church groups!)

Even though I have no kiddies of my own, I do own a DS! It's an older one I took from my brother when he bought the newest one. I think they're great! I've seen plenty of little kids with them too, and it keeps them all QUIET! The girls I babysit have them and I think it's the best thing in the world! Think of it as an investment in both yours and her happiness.

I know they were testing an interactive game in the parks that the kids would play on their DSes. So that might be an added bonus to your trip if Santa brings her one!

Well I hope everyone had a nice weekend. To those of you who have a holiday starting tomorrow, ENJOY!

I haven't been as chatty this evening because I'm watching my Buffalo Bills on tv. They've pretty much won already, so now I can turn my attention back to Disney!!

Wow.... only 10 pages to read since yesterday.... not to bad.... just finished with my weekend with the band.... the kids were great... had fun... can't say to many positives about the director.... he's not so nice..... thank goodness he is only an interim director... the new guy is SUPER nice!!!

I would love to meet up with some of you other snowbirds!!!!! I will have to look back at the dates and see when everyone is going to be there.... I think Shelly and I might be at CBR at the same time!!!!

Hi -- I hope you're feeling better!

How was the movie?

Hey :flower3: I am much better thank you!! I was kinda shaky at church after that second round of Excedrine!!! But, I always feel better after I go. It's the stress of getting everybody ready that makes more pressure, which of course makes is pound that much harder!! :headache:

We are going to the movie at 7, so I will let you know!!! Hey I am almost to 700 posts!!! When do we change form Dis veteran, Mouseketeer, and all that?Anybody know? I thought the first one was 300. What's next?
K--see ya'll later!! :wave2:

Good evening snowbirds! My girls were playing a computer game on our only web enabled computer for most of the afternoon! My goodness! I finally have a chance to sign on and see how everyone is doing and see that some of you have already said goodnight? :confused3

debbieandroo - you are quite the poet! Great Job! :thumbsup2

shelly - glad to hear your boys had a great afternoon of soccer! :goodvibes

Now on the footwear issue - I do have a pair of crocs (beach)that I wear around the yard and when walking short distances. I cannot wear them when walking for a long time. I have a pair of BITE sandals that are ssooooo comfy and cozy and I can and do walk forever in them! I also have a newer pair of Saucony runners that I will also bring along for cooler days. They were my gym shoes so they are still nice and white but fully broken in! :cool1:

We just returned home from our "family night" at church! A nice meal (I didn't have to cook) :woohoo: and a funny movie - ROCKETMAN! :thumbsup2 a bit of an older Disney movie but very cute and VERY funny! :lmao: A good time was had by all! :)

the girls are now watching an episode of PLANET EARTH with Daddy - whales and sharks - while I catch up! :)

Well, off to make lunches for school tomorrow! ;)

I'm still here! I'm just about to watch Extreme Makeover:Home Edition though. (love my tivo...no commercials!) I'll check in every now and then.

I absolutely LOVE wearing Crocs. I agree that they look strange but if you get a pair in your size, you'll see that they are VERY comfortable. I have bad knees and achilles problems, and Crocs are the only thing I can wear and walk for any length of time without pain. I believe that Crocs will make it okay for me at Disney World - I was afraid I might have to rent a scooter, but finding Crocs has really changed my life!

The colors are fun, and you can get Disney Crocs, which makes them extra fun!

I like them, but the ones I have are too small which means I'll have to decide if I wish to buy a new pair, or discard the idea altogether.

To those of you talking about second honeymoons - I heartily recommend a cruise...I know we're all planning fanatics, and that, I've heard, is essential for maximizing the Disney experience [especially for kids].

But on a cruise, once you decide where to go, what cruise line to use, how long - most of your work is done. You can then walk on that ship and be as active or idle as you'd like. You really are treated like royalty, so much so that once you get back home, reality is hard to swallow. But it's worth the adjustment period.

Okay, that's all from me tonight - -good night sweet snowbirds!

Cruises are great. They take out a lot of the thought work. As long as you make it back to the ship on time you're golden. I considered a cruise for my honeymoon, but I got sick on the one I went on, and I figured it could taint the trip a little. However, I only got sick the last day or 2 when the water was extra choppy. The rest of the time I was fine.

The kids don't care if they have to wear socks with their Crocs. I was thinking I could buy fun Disney socks for them as stocking stuffers. They're still young enough to love that. I think? Maybe I better check with my oldest. He's just now starting to act "Cool." :rotfl2:

Question: are there any rides where your feet dangle beneath you? 'Cause I'd be worried the Crocs might fall off.:confused3

The kids all need new sneakers. I was thinking of holding off buying them until the beginning of November. That would give them plenty of time to wear them in before Disney, but they wouldn't be old and shot. Maybe we'll pack Crocs and sneakers.

So, should we risk breaking every fashion rule and have comfortable feet? Or should we just go with sneakers?

I have honestly never in my life put more thought into footware before!
The only ride I can think of where your feet hang below you is Soarin' and they let you take your shoes off for it, so it's not really an issue.
I would go with comfortable feet. It's amazing how tired you can feel at the end of the day when your feet are sore.
I like the idea of getting Disney themed socks, I might do just that.

Ok. Sorry to change the subject from crocs (I'm loving everyone's input though!), but I have a question. Has anyone bought their kids a Nintendo DS?? My DD (will be 6 next month) really wants one. We're thinking about buying her one for Christmas. Just wondering what everyone thinks about them and if it's a good investment. Thanks!
T

My DD is now 7, and "Santa" brought her a DS for Christmas last year (she was 6 at the time). Nintendo has lots of age appropriate games, girls games nevetheless! My DD also outgrew the VSmile. The Ds is perfect for her. Easy to use. Looks brand new 9 months later.

Excellent! My DD sees all the commercials for the games and thinks they're so cool. I definately think that "Santa" will bring her one for Christmas. On the other hand, we might want credit for that gift!:)

FYI: Toys R Us is having a deal this week. Buy the Ds and get a game, and an accessory kit for free. Deals like this pop up as the holidays come closer.

Last year, Bust Buy ran a deal for a DS, 2 games, and an accessory kit for $150. The accesory kit consists of the carrying case, extra stylus pens, game holders, earphones, and a cleaning cloth.

OH, a word of caution!!! The DS games are VERY small. Think of the size of a camera's memory stick. That small. We have lost carrying cases that hold 4 games in them. Be careful with those games :thumbsup2

Thanks for the great info! I did see the deal in the Toys R Us ad today. We might go buy it this week and hold onto it for Christmas. I will just have to remember where I put it!

Hi everyone! Just got home from a weekend in New Orleans with my sis. Belle is WIRED and I am TIRED!!!! Oh, I hope we get to bed soon.

We arrive the day you leave. :sad1: I've never been in Jan and I'm really looking foward to it. Don't worry about Buffalo winters. They're really not that bad. Syracuse (my original hometown) gets tons more snow then we do. The southtowns get a lot of snow, but the towns furthest from the lake don't get hit as hard. I'm sure you'll do just fine!
