Escape to Witch Mountain was one of my favorites as a kid. We rented it a million times, because we all loved it. I think we were all convinced that we had twins out there somewhere that would help us unlock special powers. We would rent Escape to Witch Mountain, Hocus Pocus and Robin Hood Men In Tights over and over again, because we loved them so much.

Ooohh - I'd forgotted Escape to Witch Mountain. I loved that one!!! My sister and I also LOVED the North Avenue Irregulars. Does anyone remember that? Karen Valentine, Cloris Leachman...

Thanks! I did see that before, but I wasn't quite sure how it worked. I've posted on many message boards before, but I haven't completely figured them out.

I do remember watching Escape from Witch Mountain when I was little. I was a Disney Channel junkie as a child. :)

Does anyone remember Toby Tyler?
I love that one! I love most of the 60's live actions!

Not sure about this one, but aren't they remaking Witch Mountain? That was never a fav of mine, but I thought I heard it somewhere....

I love The Office. It was hilarious last night!!!! I loved Kelly talking about the tape worm she bought from Mexico. Well, I love anything Kelly says, really. She's so silly!

Anyway Mindy--he's just too cute! Little heart-breaker!! Hey wouldn't he be cute with Belle? Bella's daughter!! Ha!!!! A Disney match!!!

Do you think that we could start planning their Disneymoon? Or their Disney wedding . . . with Soleil's approval, of course ;)

I would SOOOO love for Ry to get married at Disney!

Ok! My favorite Disney movie . . .

That is so hard. I love most of them. My older sister would get me a new Disney VHS for every occasion. Cinderella is my all time favorite, I'd say. I also love Cars and Monster's Inc.

As for musicals, Sound of Music, Grease and My Fair Lady are some of my favs.

All I want is a room somewhere . . . far away from the cold night air . . . and one enourmouns chair! OH wouldn't it be loverly. :scared: <---that's the face that my sweet little boy makes when I start singing. "Mommy, please stop singing," he says in his sweet little boy voice.

Oh yes... you're son is adorable! I've always wanted a Disney wedding. I can live vicariously through Belle.

I just love The Sound of Music! I can't tell you how many times I've watched The Lonely Goatherd puppet show with DDs. "Again, again!" :cutie: Which of course I don't mind at all. DDs flipped when I told them that the lady that plays Maria is the same lady that plays the Queen in The Princess Diaries and also the voice of the Queen in Shrek! :rotfl2:

It's always so great to introduce your children to things you love! So far, I've gotten DD into some of my faves - Annie, Oliver (the musical - I have to get her Oliver & company!), Shirley Temple Movies, Fred Astaire, Elvis movies. Some things are truly classic. There are so many things that have "adult" type themes in them, even when they are musical, so I'm taking it slow. We have watched Sound of Music but she's not crazy about it.

It's always cool to correlate the cartoon voices with famous people.

Oh yeah, I forgot one other fave Disney movie - Enchanted! I cry every time! Of course, I cry at Monsters Inc. when Boo has to say goodbye:sad:
Oh, and High School Musical. That's a special thing DD and I share, and I cry when I hear the songs that Troy and Gabriella sing, because we used to sing those together in the car :)

My DD LOVES Enchanted. My mom got her Giselle's wedding dress and it's gorgeous. I'm now thinking about bringing it with us and maybe going to the BBB again. She had so much fun there 2 yrs ago.

:ewok:

OHHHHHHHH! The Sound of Music is my all time favorite!!!! We I was in Austria, I made it a point to get to Salzburg to take the Sound of Music Tour! I took pictures with the Gazebo (sorry I just know I spelt that wrong :confused3), at all the places they sing DoReMi, and so many others. My cousin was soooo embarassed when I made her take my picture dancing on the big fountain!!!!

I think it's great that you share your favorite things (pun intended!) with your kids! I can't wait untill I have my own little ones! Just the thought of their first view of the castle gives me chills! My friends already tell me my kids will need help, and an escape plan....

Have you told your DD that Maria is also the woman who plays Mary Poppins? I don't think I believed my mom untill I was 12!

Ok and since everyone is talking about the Office.......any Stargate Atlantis fans out there??? Besides being a Disney Dork, I have a slight touch of sci fi geek in me. :ewok:

We are doing some serious walking down memory lane -- to all of you Hayley Mills and Julie Andrews fans - we are kindred spirits. As a teenager, I went to visit my aunt and uncle again [this time they lived in GA] and they had, of all things, the Disney channel [I didn't have cable]. I watched Hayley Mills over and over and over - reminds me, I think I need to see those movies again.

And Sound of Music is truly one of my all time faves -- I was about 10 and was forced to go to a small-town production of SoM, absolutely fell in love, then drove everyone crazy with my warbled renditions of Edelweiss.

And I love Apple Dumpling Gang, the original Herbie the Love Bug movies, all those with the younger and yummy Kurt Russell and Robby Benson in them  - goodness, I do need to do some serious movie-watching...

I am woefully behind on my Pixar flicks -- Wall-E, Cars, Monster's Inc, A Bug's Life...all still on my to-do list. And anything animated after Lion King hasn't been watched by me.

Sharadoc, I'm so glad you and daughter are enjoying old movies - they're so fun, aren't they?

All this talk of classic movies makes me want to go out and rent them all! I used to watch The Parent Trap (with Haley Mills) all the time. That movie made me wish that I had a twin. I need to start introducing these timeless movies to my DD. I know that she would love them.

What? Were still talking about our favourite movies? :thumbsup2

Well, I just popped in to say goodnight! I had a nice evening!! Got to go out ALL BY MYSELF! WITH NO CHILDREN! Woot woot! Don't get me wong, I love my kids and the kids I babysit, but every once in a while a mama'a gotta get some time to herself! ;)

Dh and I have been watching some episodes from one our DVD's of FRIENDS, and we just took a break to check our email! :) Hope eveyone has a super duper weekend!

Happy Holiday weekend to all of those who are celebrating! Party Hard!! :cool1:

Northerndisneygirl........OUT! G'Night Ladies! :grouphug:

How could I forget Enchanted??? I love that, too. "How does she knooooooow you love her...". I think I liked it better than DDs!

Just for the record, you did spell gazebo correctly! :thumbsup2 I would love to do the Sound of Music Tour. Someday...[insert daydreaming smiley here].

DDs didn't have any interest in Mary Poppins until we read the book. They liked that so much better than the movie. I think there are 3 or 4 books in the series, but I'm not quite sure.
