Bliss is the best thing to come out of Hershey in a long time. My Hubby works for Hershey and he brought some home about a year ago for the first time. They are like an addiction for me. The Chocolate Meltaways are the BEST!:goodvibes

Great pics, Peaches!

I so agre. I did a hershy bliss buzz campaign and I LOVED the meltaways!

Jiffy - as in the cornbread and muffin mix company with the blue and white boxes! Made in Dexter, Michigan!

I had absolutely NO idea that Jiffy was made in Michigan! I :lovestruc those fake blueberries in their muffin mixes, and the big box of Jiffy Mix makes the best shortcake for strawberry shortcake! Mmmm...with real Michigan strawberries, yum! I'm so glad I know, thanks!

Oooh, you fellow PA'ers are making me hungry! On our trip last week to the Hershey outlets, we stopped in at Chocolate world. It was there I discovered a new craving... Hershey Bliss!!:woohoo:

I'm laid up now from the oh so wonderful foot surgery I had yesterday. So, along with the yummy drugs, i'm eating some of those yummy blisses. While the pain sucks big time, the bliss makes things just a wee bit better. And my happy Disney planning video of course!:tink:

I will be looking :magnify: for these tomorrow; I can't believe there is a chocolate product I haven't tried! :rotfl2:

Road-trippers, we gotta get organized! Now, along with our long-johns, we gotta pack our water-wings to make it through Detroit and Chicago. Are Mazdas amphibious?

So MindyluvsMickey, Gillettes, and Katiebugsmom - I hope y'all are packed and ready to rumble! We've got to pick up some Middlesworth's chips and a Primanti's sandwich [I want mine with TWO fried eggs -- oh yeah!] then waddle ourselves through that old car festival. Gillettes - we'll do the whole shabang, your husband won't even have to show us around.

Can't wait!

and, Bella, you're right about this thread-hijackin' thing - us livin' under the Mason-Dixon need to represent! :thumbsup2

I do have to confess, though - I'm not much for grits. I prefer oatmeal and cream of wheat Sorry! :guilty:

But, like any good Southerner will tell you, if you fry it, I will eat it - all of it. Chicken, steak, chicken-fried steak, pickles, green tomatoes [we really eat them, not just watch movies about them], white potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, catfish, hush puppies, ice cream, cheese cake, candy bars - goodness, can it get any better?

Oh but yes -- in Memphis, what we're not frying, we're barbecuing - and not the kind of barbecue that means you just stick it on a grill - no, this is the kind of barbecue that requires hours/days of slllllooooowwww-cooking in a beautiful melding of spices and sauces. mmmmmm. And we can do anything with barbecue -- stick it on a sandwich, slap it on pasta, eat it by itself -- barbecued pork, bologna [one of my personal faves], spaghetti, cornish hen. We leave the beef to our Texas neighbors, by the way.

Goodness, I did get carried away!

How's your generator holding out?

You guys are making me soooooooo hungry! You all are forgetting one of the most amazing food in the world...the Chicago Pizza! I would add Hot Dogs and Italian Beef, but I don't like meat. From what I remember though they were good!

Did anyone see SNL tonight w/ Michael Phelps? There was an Epcot shout-out! How sad is it when I get super excited just to hear Disney World mentioned on T.V.! :sad2:

Yep. Still watching! popcorn:: Disney and Phelps wearing a Michigan t-shirt. What more do you need?

Did everyone notice that I didn't bring him up this time? Thanks Nala!

Hello,
I just booked my family's vacation to WDW for Jan 20-26, 2009! We will be staying at Pop Century this time. I REALLY wanted the Poly or Contemporary, but I just justify spending that much on a room when all we do is sleep!
Being a "cheesehead" from Wisconsin, we loved :lovestruc WDW in January. We normally wear sweatshirts and shorts all year round anyway, so we will be fine with cooler weather! I just have to wait for AirTran to lower the fares a bit...$119 each way is a bit much yet!

Just thought I would jump aboard the January,2009 bandwagon!

I got the famous Disney free dining e-mail offer through December. $63/person/day with free dining. I'm not even in the country during that time or I'd seriously consider leaving you snowbirds and heading south early!:lmao:

I hope this doesn't mean I won't be getting any more offers. :confused3

And good morning to you all! Glad some of you got a laugh out of my pictures! Love me some Middleswarth!

Today we are heading to the beach again, to celebrate the 1st birthday of our friends' son. The Mediterranean is so beautiful! And not so crowded on a Sunday! YEAH! We figure beach time is quickly coming to an end and we should enjoy it while we still can.

Been praying for those being hit with the hurricanes! I can clearly remember hating hurricane season as a child. It always sounded so scary and all the grown-ups talked about Hurricane Diane and Agnes that hit PA hard in the mid-70s. Knoebels Amusement Park still has signs up all over the park about how high the flood waters were during those times. It must be awful to live right in the path.

Well, I guess I should get the rest of our stuff ready to go!

Have a wonderful Sunday!:rotfl:

Okay, I am embarrassed to say that I don't know what a Primanti's sandwich is ??? :guilty: Sorry I don't get into the city that often! :rotfl:

OK Shelly, now you will be more embarrassed when I tell you there is a Primanti's location in Cranberry on Executive Drive.

I guess we all know where you are going to dinner soon........:)

Debbieandroo....you are right about the frying. Mmmmmm fried green tomatoes and fried bologna are my favorites (not necessarily together).

As for BBQ, here in western PA I have learned to make BBQ chipped ham. You take Isaly's chipped ham and BBQ sauce, a little coca cola, in a crockput, let it cook up then serve on a sandwich roll......nothing like it on a Steeler game day.

I am running a FREE POP Fridge/Coffee Pot swap. I have some openings in Jan I need to fill. I have 1/5-1/13 & 1/20-1/29.

Pm me if you are interested.

Boy, I can understand that! We live about 50 minutes below Syracuse (which averages around 112 inches of snow a year and had 190 inches in 2003-04 which was the highest city snow fall in the country that year). And guess what airport we fly out of year long? Four wheel drive isn't an option, it's a way of life:thumbsup2! It is torture every year we go to WDW in January. Get up about 5 hours before the flight and see if it has snowed, will it snow more? Will flights be cancelled? Oh well, part of the fun of being a Snow Bird!;) Everyone have a good night.:wave2:

Kazooie.... looks like we are neighbors... I am about 20 minutes north of Syracuse... just on the Onondaga / Oswego County line,.... also looks like we will be in WDW around the same time.... We live here now but I grew up in Lockport NY... not far from Buffalo....

We are staying at the Carribean Beach this time.... Jan 25-31st... it will be me (Wendy), DH, DS (who turns 16 during the trip), and his friend (15)... we are getting DDP.. teenage boys eat alot!!!!! Right now trying to make dining plans....
I just love planning (this is trip # 26 or so)..... I have been going since I was a kid....

Well just wanted to say hello to everyone....

Hello! Looks like we are getting a good collection of New Yorkers going in January (we're no dummies, we know when to leave upstate New York;)).

How's your generator holding out?

Our electricity came back on sometime after DD and I were down for bed. It was off almost all day. It was really windy and misty all day, too, but last night it was calm. We have a few trees down, but nothing too serious.

The only one that we have ever really had problems with was Rita. We are very blessed!

However- It's hilarious to see how people get so carried away here and stock up on $1,000 worth of groceries, flash lights and such......

Yay New York!! :cheer2:

and mmmm fried pickles I haven't had them in years, so good.

Why can't I get a stinkin' pin code!?! I have a Disney Visa that I use A LOT :rolleyes1

I would love to have nice 40% code LOL I would definitely upgrade to MK view at the Poly!

I noticed today how short the count down chain around DS's bedroom door is getting. I think it's at 114 days or 16 weeks or 3 months 23 days.

i am ready to start packing!! Do you think it's too soon?:rotfl: Seriously, though. As soon as DS is finished wearing shorts for the season, you can bet that I'll be putting things aside to go in the suitcase.

Hi from yet another PA'er! :lmao: Me, DH, and DS (19) will be vacationing from Jan 16 - Jan 25. I already bought our airfare...Southwest had a semi-decent deal, but I loved the times. Now I just hope they don't go and change the times on me.

Yinz alls are making me hungry wit alls this talk of Primanti brudder sammitches, Isaly's chipped chopped ham BBQ, and alls of that. :goodvibes

For a good laugh, you can translate to Pittsburghese here: http://www.pittsburghese.com/translator.shtml

There's a lot of PA'ers going in January, huh? We almost always go on vacation in January, but it's usually a cruise. I love leaving the freezing cold, if only for just a few days. Plus, DH is usually off work for most of January because of the weather, since he works highway construction. Going during "road construction season" isn't really an option for us.

Speaking of pin codes...I got a postcard in the mail yesterday, and was SO excited. But dang it, it was only good through December. I'm almost out of vacation time for this year, so we have to wait until 2009. I'm leaning towards renting a townhouse anyway, so I think I'm just going to go that route.

I too have never heard of Middleswarth. I like chips a bit too much.
Yes, we have been to Herrs tour twice also. Once with DS boyscout troop, and once with school. It is a nice FREE tour.

Good morning Snowbirds! :goodvibes

Road trip ~ YAY ~ I'm in, let's go!! :drive:

Love all the talk about PA food!! Although I have never heard of Middleswarth BBQ chips. . . We like Herr's chip! Has anyone ever been to the Herr's Potato Chip Factory Tour in Nottingham PA??? It's very fun, we've been there twice! :yay:

Hope all of our Texas and Louisiana friends are staying safe! :grouphug:

Well, Ike just arrived here in Ann Arbor, Michigan!

Okay, so, it's Michigan. It's a little windy and a lot rainy - not even quite as bad as what Chicago-land had yesterday. Our power is flickering a bit. If I lose power, I suggest all of you who REALLY live in hurricane territory point and laugh at Southeastern Michigan.

We got 2" of rain yesterday. In the month of August, we received .75", so we desperately need it (though you should hear the DH complain about needing to mow again). Unfortunately, it'll be done before tomorrow so I won't have a need to wear my cute rain boots. ;)

DH reminded me that it's 16 weeks until the Disney Marathon!!
