1. We love to stroll around the world in EPCOT.
2. People-watching from a bench is a fun and relaxing break in the day.
3. Sitting by the pool at night is also relaxing. I don't know if that will work in January, however.

I have lots to catch up on- you have all been so chatty! Our power was out for a good while yesterday due to TS Hanna and i think I was going through computer withdrawal.

Hi everyone, we're going in january too....the 24th to 31st...we planned it then to make the pirate and princess party but now i hear rumors it may not start till feb! i hope that is false...anyone have info on that? its less than 4 months to january!!!

And I didn't realize so many of you are from PA- and that so many know about Knoebels. I live in Cecil Co. MD just south of the PA border. I can't wait to shop at the Disney Outlets in Lancaster- anyone been? Do they have good deals?

Things that I will do on my upcoming trip that I have not done on any other previous trip: Toy Story Mania, Wishes, Fantasmic, stay at ASMo, enjoying WDW with 2 kids under the age of 5, and perhaps try a dole whip since everyone raves about them.

And for those who are part of the WDW Tub Support Group... here's mine (and I added one more thing to it Friday after the pic was taken- I need a bigger tub!) I didn't realize I had pciked up so many tshirts for my dd until I pulled it all out for a picture. Perhaps I'll keep a copy of the pic with me so I don't grab stuff I don't need while shopping from now on.

Inside the tub are all of the toiletries in organized gallon bags and outside is everything else I've grabbed along the way!

Hi, snowbirds! Just got back from a day spent at the Mediterranean Sea! We found a lovely beach just north of Tel Aviv and went with friends who also have 4 kids roughly the same ages as ours. It was a blast! The kids really enjoyed the waves and the sand and I really enjoyed talking with my friend and watching the kids and the husbands enjoy the waves. Said friend doesn't swim, so I just hung back with her and our 2 youngest kids. It was nice. It was really nice considering they drove 2 cars to take all of us because we still do not have a car.

Question of the day from yesterday about firsts. Well, nearly everything is a first for some or all of us. First time for all my kids to even be in Floriday, let alone Disney. First time for many new and exciting sounding rides! First time to Animal Kingdom for me. First time we ever dreamed of doing a dining plan like this. Thanks to my Mom!

Wow! Thanks! Hmmm...I've been reading trip reports. I'll have to seriously consider writing one. I so enjoy the information people share and I love writing. And, well, I love Disney. Makes for a good combination!

Hello dear snowbirds! My "baby" sister is in town for the month while I have foot surgery (on friday). She's so awesome to fly in from Seattle to help! She loves PA so its not too painful for her.

We're doing some Disney planning already and are loving it. She brought a bunch of Disney movies with her so we're going to lay around watching those and going through making an itinerary. Super fun!

I did want to ask ya'll a question. I just applied for a Disney visa which should be arriving next week. I thought it'd be good to get the perks. Do you think it's worth it? What kind of benefits have you gotten? I could probably ask this on another board but thought i'd ask my buddies on here first!

So the kicker comes out on another thread that SAB will be closed for refurbishment at Beach Club from Jan 2 until April 1st. Nice....and that is the biggest reason I booked BCV.....so called MS and was able to change to OKW. Less points so will be able to bank a nice bunch of points for next year. Yeah....Changed anniversary dinner from Yachtsman to California Grille and got a ressie 20 minutes before Wishes starts. Yeahhhh!!!. So all in all nice perks abounded after a little disappointment. And I did want to try OKW sooner or later. So it will be a little sooner.....

Good Morning Snowbirds!!


How about at QOTD?
What is your favorite way to relax while at WDW?

Hmm. Well, I do not have kids AND I have been to Disney mumblemumble times. For me, the whole trip is a GREAT fall-back relaxing trip because I'm not seeing anything super-new. I can get around MK and Epcot without a map (one of my super powers - super useless powers, of course - is the ability to navigate amusement/theme parks without a map after 1 visit) and I know what we want to see. The whole trip for me tends to be pretty relaxing.

I wanted to shake it up this time - maybe go see Kennedy Space Center (I met DH when he was trying to get a PhD in Astronomy and he's never been), but he decided against that. Maybe go to Universal Studios, but if his parents are in town, we'll probably spend a day with them. So it might be a same old same old trip. That's alright. It'll be a nice weekend with the families and then the rest of the week with each other!!

I'm with Carrie - lots of firsts. As for relaxing, I don't want to do too much of that because I want to see and do and eat EVERYTHING! I am looking forward to ambling through World Showcase, watching the street performers, sitting in a cafe to people-watch....cannot wait!

I did want to ask ya'll a question. I just applied for a Disney visa which should be arriving next week. I thought it'd be good to get the perks. Do you think it's worth it? What kind of benefits have you gotten? I could probably ask this on another board but thought i'd ask my buddies on here first!

I did that, too. I don't know if this is part of the VISA promotion for you but I got a $40 credit when I first used it. Also, I am thinking of going on a tour - I heard that there's a discount for those when you use your card to sign up [don't know if it's a better discount than AAA]. Another reason I got the card was to give myself more chances for a nice PIN code - although I never win anything, least of all something I would want!

It is fun to have a credit card with Mickey's picture on it.

And for those who are part of the WDW Tub Support Group... here's mine (and I added one more thing to it Friday after the pic was taken- I need a bigger tub!) I didn't realize I had pciked up so many tshirts for my dd until I pulled it all out for a picture. Perhaps I'll keep a copy of the pic with me so I don't grab stuff I don't need while shopping from now on.

Goodness, I feel so under-prepared now! Not only do I need a tub, but I also need more T-shirts! Disneyshopping.com - here I come!

Great picture - you have great self-discipline not to take stuff out of the bin before January - I'd be 'borrowing' things all the time!

We are relaxed when we arrive safe and sound from a 23 or so hour drive straight through. We love that we are at Disney and can look forward to all the fun you can have in a very safe environment for the whole family. We enjoy seeing the expressions on the faces of our children. It will be special again since my DS was only 18 months last time and it will be like his first time again. This will be my DD's second time and she doesn't remember all from 3 years ago so we are looking forward to it all again.

I am jealous of all of you that can apply for a Disney Visa. I don't think anyone that does not live in the USA can apply for one. I too think it would be cool to have a Mickey credit card.

I love the picture of the bin. We too are packing in bins. My DH now thinks we could save room by packing suitcases so I told him we will pack all in tubs first, place bins in our small SUV then take out and repack all in suitcases, refit into SUV and see which is better. I do like the bin idea since it seems easier to have less of them to carry than the suitcases. It is scary all the little things you can buy and stuff into a tote and not notice how full they are getting. I think I have bought a new t-shirt for everyday we are there for our DS. We have been planning now for over 2 years so I have bought a little at a time and guessed and hoped he would be the size I have bought for. My DD is picky and I am waiting until after Christmas sales at the Disney store about 1 hour away and see what we can pick up for her. She is a shopaholic and I am afraid she will have a severe attack of the givemes at WDW if we don't have something new for her to wear just like DS. Our thoughts are it is cheaper to have purchased all clothing before we go so we don't use up our vacation money on too many new clothing articles; maybe one special something for each of us.

I wanted to shake it up this time - maybe go see Kennedy Space Center (I met DH when he was trying to get a PhD in Astronomy and he's never been), but he decided against that.

Oh, I highly recommend one day trip out to Kennedy Space Center. We went once when they were getting the shuttle ready for it's next mission. We got to see the HUGENESS of the transporter that brings the launch pad out from the VAB (Vehicle Assembly Building - see I learned something!), plus we rode out to the Apollo mission launch pads. The exhibits and tours were really an awe-inspiring thing to do. Those astronauts are really heroes and it's hard to get the true sense of it until you see the actual vehicles. Those space capsules were so SMALL and they went to the moon in them! Seriously, try to talk him into it if you have the time! It's not someplace I'd go to again, but you should try to do it once in your life.

I love my Disney Visa!! We charge all of our gas and groceries and then pay it off at the end of each month, and earn reward dollars in the process. We usually have $150-$300 in "spending" money on our reward card, depending on how long in-between trips! Plus, take it with you to Epcot and there is a special meet & greet for disney visa cardholders only and you get a free 5x7 picture!! And I think you can get 10% off at the World of Disney Store in DTD, but you might have to spend a certain amount to get that.
