Wow guys I've been in Canada since Friday and I had 20 pages to read!!!!

What if we made a January calendar? Then we could put everyones dates and ADRs on it and put it on a file sharing site so it wouldn't take up room on the board. Maybe I'll just make one for our stays, see how it works then we can look at the overlaps. I can hardly believe how long the list has gotten!!

As for an update on our trip: my BF talked me out of the 2 nights a POR to save some money so should just be POP or Movies for us. I'm going to try to make reservations tomorrow. I really don't want to pay extra for a preferred room!

Also I'm planning on buying a AAA membership for the discount. From what I read its a 20% discount for the value resorts in value season? That seems like a lot... but if thats right we play $50 for the membership and save $110 on hotel!! Do I have to book through AAA? Do I have to do anything other than so my AAA card when I check in? Ok thanks!

Im not sure exactly how much the discount on value resorts is but I think you are right about it being 20%. And no you do not have to book through AAA if it is just the room reservation, you can call disney and tell them you have AAA and if there is a discount available they will give it to you. If you are booking a package that has to be done through AAA. Hope this helps.

And for those of us arriving on January 21...

We were all excited to make our ADR's today (we arrive 1/21), got right through to a CM, and forgot we haven't picked a hotel yet (no reservations yet just our flights are booked) so..... We could only make our first reservation (for 1/21). Oh the agony! I guess we'll call back tomorrow and then the next day, and the next day, and the next day....

Well, at least we are in for Boma at 6:25pm on the 21st!

Does it seem counter productive to everyone else that Disney keeps things such a secret, even from their CMs? I can't figure out why 2009 needs to be such a mystery. The way the economy is, I'd think they'd want to advertise something really cool now, and include perks and price charts to interest people so they can begin saving.

I'd think it would make sense to have information earlier rather than later, because people are going to start planning their 2009 vacations and won't consider Disney if there is suspicion the prices might increase or if they think it's going to be the same old, same old.

And I think Disney would be smart to offer incentives to draw people to come when luxuries are the first thing to go during difficult times. Incentives that would make it worth our while to stay on site or to do the DDP. If they offered a good package price and incentives, there's a possibility I'd stay longer! As it stands now, I've already cut back one night because of the rumors I'm reading about price increases and stuff. If there was some good package deal and/or incentive, I'd book longer!

But maybe that's just me...I'm no advertising expert. I'm just an impatient Disney vacationer trying to make plans!

I think 5:35 for 1900 Park Fare would leave you plenty of time to make it to Wishes! I've never been to Park Fare, but usually those character meals take about an hour or so. Then MK is the next stop on the monorail from the GF, so you'll be there in no time. That's our plan anyway!

Yes, she said that the only times for Fantasmic were from 3:30-4:30. I think that is because Fantasmic is at 7:00 in January. In May I was able to book MM Fantasmic for after 5:00. Are you going in January too?

Sorry...didn't realize the show was at 7:00 in January--that makes sense too. No, we are going in five weeks (September 1-9); we though of a brief four or five day trip in January, but it won't happen as that is the heart of our son's wrestling season.
