A few questions.....I have ADR's for Donald's Safari the day we are at AK. I only got it for 9 but needed for 13.....Do you think if I call back I can get a table for 4? How late would you make it for? Our ADR is at 8am

Also, what's the Pirates Cruise...wondering if DS may be interested.

Gotta go.....

Sorry...didn't realize the show was at 7:00 in January--that makes sense too. No, we are going in five weeks (September 1-9); we though of a brief four or five day trip in January, but it won't happen as that is the heart of our son's wrestling season.

Have a great trip in September! :goodvibes

I figured the Fantasmic package would have to be early with the show being at 7:00. Especially considering that the last time we were at MM we were in there for 2 hours! Very slow, but very good food. :goodvibes DH loved his meal there and it was his only request for this trip, so we are going back! Plus we didn't care for Hollywood & Vine much, and we don't think the Brown Derby would be worth 2 TS credits. We weren't even going to book the package until they dropped the bombshell last week that they are only showing Fantasmic twice a week!

Does it seem counter productive to everyone else that Disney keeps things such a secret, even from their CMs? I can't figure out why 2009 needs to be such a mystery. The way the economy is, I'd think they'd want to advertise something really cool now, and include perks and price charts to interest people so they can begin saving.

I'd think it would make sense to have information earlier rather than later, because people are going to start planning their 2009 vacations and won't consider Disney if there is suspicion the prices might increase or if they think it's going to be the same old, same old.

And I think Disney would be smart to offer incentives to draw people to come when luxuries are the first thing to go during difficult times. Incentives that would make it worth our while to stay on site or to do the DDP. If they offered a good package price and incentives, there's a possibility I'd stay longer! As it stands now, I've already cut back one night because of the rumors I'm reading about price increases and stuff. If there was some good package deal and/or incentive, I'd book longer!

But maybe that's just me...I'm no advertising expert. I'm just an impatient Disney vacationer trying to make plans!:rotfl:

Totally agree-what kind of rates, what dates and resort are people getting right now?

Have to agree with you there. We hated H&V and won't go back. We though Brown Derby was overrated (and my DH who LOVES all desserts--hated the grapefruit cake). I can't understand why they are cutting it down to two shows a week. I wonder if Illuminations and the others will follow suit eventually??? :confused3

You have a great trip too.

Offered at CBR: :goodvibes

"Island of the Caribbean Pirate Adventure - For children ages 4-10 (must be potty trained) -- young adventurers, wearing pirate bandannas, will board a boat to sail the Ports of the Caribbean, just like Captain Jack! They will be told the story of Old Port Royale and of the pirates that used to sail the waters. They will find props and signs leading to treasure. Once they recover the treasure, they will sail to Fort Cay and trade for some grub (lunch). When they return to Old Port Royale, they will unlock the treasure chest and bounty will be shared by all. As of 1/14/07, operates Sundays, as well as Tuesdays from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. $28.17 per child pus tax. Lunch: Peanut Butter and Jelly Uncrustables, Gummy Bears, Gold Fish Treats, and Apple Juice Box. Call 407-WDW-DINE for information on the resort marina at 407-934-2850."

I was told this morning that it was for ages 4-12 and that it is offered on Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday. So this info above isn't exactly up to date!

They also offer one at the GF and some of the other resorts.

Yeah, I just can't justify spending 2 TS's on anything! :confused3 Maybe it's just me, but it better be darn good for that! :rotfl: Although I have been curious about the Cali Grill!

Boy I sure hope they don't cut back Wishes and IllumiNations! I doubt that will happen. But I guess we don't know exactly what the economy is going to bring.

Hey Shelley, our "Mama Snowbird" - here's a suggestion and more work for you! You're doing such an AWESOME JOB with this list. I LOVE having all of you to talk to and read about your planning and adventures!

How about listing ADRs by restaurant, then by date. Or by date, then by restaurant. It would give us all a chance to see if there's a chance for a meet-up. Like if I plan to be at Tusker House for dinner on January 26, I can look at either the Jan 26 list or the Tusker House list and see if any of my fellow Snowbirds are going to be there! If you want some help, maybe some of us could volunteer to keep a list. Like one of us could do each do ADRs for each park, resorts and DTD.

Starting Friday, we'll have no more ADRs to list until October, so this could fill up the time. We could do a WISH list between now and when we can make our next round of ADRs. It could even help if we want to set up a meet-up.

I guess I have too much time on my hands.:confused3 We would need a separate list for this if it really gets organized!!! :lmao:

Hmm. . . I will have to give this some thought and try to figure out what the most efficient way would be. . . I had thought about making a list of "matches" after everyone lists their ADR's. . .

Love Cali Grill-It is a must do on every one of our trips.
We've been really lucky to get ADR for about 1 hour before
wishes-great place to watch from.

Just tried to call for my ADR's and the computer system is down.

TRY AGAIN! :thumbsup2 The first time I called this morning they told me it was down, too, but I called back a few minutes later, got a different CM and it worked fine. Good luck!

I just ordered some shirts from disneyshopping.com and used my Disney Visa to pay. I thought there was a 10% discount when the Disney Visa was used, but I didn't receive it. Anybody know what I did wrong? I did e-mail customer service already, but my DIS peeps usually know just as much, and I get answers faster! Thanks!

I don't think I ever get a 10% discount. The only Disney Visa discount I know about when shopping online is the free shipping if your order is over $75.

You can get a 10% discount when using it at the World of Disney store at DTD!

Also, there is a private meet & greet with the characters at Epcot daily for Disney Visa cardholders from 1:30-4:30 and you get a FREE 8X10!

Hello. Just found this thread and wanted to join in!

We will also be going back to WDW in January like we have the past 3 years. Love the weather, lower crowds and just getting away from Pennsylvania weather.

Our trip will be from Jan 20th -29th, staying at the Beach Club Villas. Last year we were at AKV and the year before Boardwalk Villas. Glad to be back next to Epcot again, love being able to walk over.

We will not be doing the DDP this year. DD is now 3 and just does not eat that much plus DH and I have changed our eating habits so DDP does not really work for me. Also going to do at least one day at Universal.

As for ADR's, we are doing the 10th anniversary dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse, lunch at the Brown Derby (one of my favorites), Boma Dinner (DH favorite), Askerhaus lunch (DD's meal with the princesses and DH's Norwegian women), and dinner at Nine Dragons (refurbishment should be done by then). So this trip I am being more relaxed not having to have all the TS each day while hitting our favorites and trying 2 new places.

Please note yesterday was my 180 day +10 mark and called for my ADR's. Was only able to make 2 of them and nothing after the January 25th date, so it looks like from January 26th on, these ADR's will have to made at the 90 day mark. Just a heads up!

I know you will all enjoy this time of year. Weather can be iffy, but hey anyday at WDW is better then a good day anywhere else. See ya soon!

I tried to put the the drvcmember code before I checked out and it said it was invalid until I paid with that card, so I assumed (wrongly) that when I checked out and used the card it would be given to me. The only thing I wonder about is maybe the 10% off doesn't include sale prices? I'll have to check the CC site again! :confused3

Can I ask the question of the day again? Someone asked this question in their TR and I thought the responses were really interesting!

QUESTION OF THE DAY:

What Disney stuff (trip planning) have you done today?

WELCOME Kaitebugsmom!

I am looking forward to escaping the PA weather in January as well! :goodvibes I live just north of Pittsburgh.

I made my ADR's this morning, well most of them anyway!

Welcome to the Snowbirds and glad to hear you really enjoy WDW in January. I know we are all looking forward to it!
