I had an email from IPO this morning and they now have all our adr's done w/ all the times we asked for

I have a question about HDDR, we've never done it:
I know we can use ts credits for it, which I technically don't have b/c I can't add the ddp yet I believe it is 2ts credits in catagory 2 or 3?? Do we still have to provide a cc# when booking even if we are going to use ts credits?
We plan on using ts credits for HDDR and paying oop for CM and Sci-Fi b/c those meals are the cheaper ones. However, if I still need to use a cc# to book shouldn't I just pay for HDDR oop and do a catagory 1 seating instead? Any advice Snowbirds?

Hi! Just joined and we are going to WDW Jan 21-28. Weeeeee! So excited. Staying at the POFQ, our first trip to WDW, did DL two years ago.

Momof2DisneyBoys - we booked our room only ressie about 3 months ago at ASMo. This is where we stayed in jan 2007 and pool hopped because the Fantasia pool was in refurb. We had a Mighty Ducks room whishc was great. Admitted we were all disappointed when we checked in " Mighty Ducks??!!!" But it was ideal for travel between Music and Movies.

This trip we booked a preferred room in order to have something different. We looked into POR and CBR, as well as POP. we love the complete and total Disney theme the Movies resort offers us.

We only sleep and shower in the room, so to upgrade would make no sense for us and the money we save we have for spending or to add the deluxe meal plan.

Did you look into the family suites at Music, they look great !

Yeah, we were wanting either the Herbie or Mighty Ducks section to be the furthest away from the pool and noise. I can't believe that they only have preferred sections left and then want to charge me for something that I don't even want. We were only staying at a value in order to be able to get 2 connecting rooms for more space. I wasn't about to pay $24 more per night ($12 per room) for something that we didn't even want! We are a family that spends a lot of time at the resort we stay at so it is important to make a good decision! We only spend about 6-7 hours a day in the parks. That is DH's one request, "down time" on his vacation. And considering that he works about 60+ hours a week, I have to give him that!

The CM said she had standard rooms at ASSp only. None at ASMo or ASMu. She did have a ASMu Suite available, but I just didn't think that the boys would be too interested in ASMu.

We are thrilled to be going back to CBR anyway! The rooms are the largest of all the moderates and we had a great stay there before! I just hope they really aren't taking out the fridges, that is a nice perk of the moderates.

My DH and I LUV CBR and we've tried a couple others. But so far it's the best! You can't beat the price, location and theme! My DH wants to stay at WL or AKL and I told him I'll do AKL, but I really want Poly so we hopefully will do a split stay. I just wish the weather would be a bit warmer to stay out on the beach at night in January. Here's to hoping! I wish we could visit multiple times a year but he really wants to go other places, just not enough time and money.

We LOVE CBR too! We've never stayed at a Deluxe yet. All those you have listed look great! The Poly is my dream though !

Yes, if I could visit WDW twice a year I would be thrilled too!

I didn't ask about POP and she didn't say anything. She just went thru what was available at the All Stars. She did say that for the past 3 weeks she has been making a ton of "room only" ressies for 2009.

I don't know. I am thinking that maybe there are more "events" going on in January than we think. Maybe large groups of cheerleaders, football, bands, etc. . . And maybe that's why the rooms at the All Stars are taken.

Yesterday I received a 2008 Vacation Planning DVD from Disney in the mail. It looks like it has a preview of what is in the 4 parks. Here's my dilemma: None of us has ever been before and I'm torn between wanting to see the DVD and not wanting to be overexposed before we go. I want to be surprised by what I see to a certain extent and not feel like I've seen it all before. Between the guide book and this site I feel like I'm pretty much up to snuff on the planning aspect. My family hasn't been in much on the planning at all except what I tell them. My little ones have had a few glimpses of pics on this site and are mesmerized.

Does anyone have an opinion on whether we should watch it or not? Has anyone ever viewed this sort of DVD before? TIA for any advice you can give me.

Oh I would totally watch it!!! But that's just me!!

Yes, I have watched them and they really don't go into any great detail about anything. It's basically an over-view. Yes, you will "see" a lot of rides and hotels, but you will not "experience" them!

With the DVD you can pick and choose what you watch too. So if you think you are seeing too much you can just move onto the next thing (or just turn it off!).

Hi!! I am now officially booked at Pop for 2 connecting rooms Jan 17-31!!! I wanted CBR or AKL. I got shot down. DH wants the stinkin' frozen Coke machine. Apparently, that is what makes his Disney vacation an extraordinary one! I gave in with the one condition that we NOT all sleep in the same room. Ugh. Too small for me! My 2 DSs are taller than me (doesn't take much) and it really was too much last time after about day 5. So, I get two rooms, DH gets frozen Cokes. What more could one family ask for?

Well, our bestest friends are going at the same time, that is what! They also have 2 DSs, and wanted to be at Pop.

We have a grand gathering and get to experience some new stuff. We are all very excited.

I wanted to share my exuberance with everyone! Because I know that you all get it. I have been paper planning this for some time. 3 days ago, we bought airline tickets, then yesterday, we booked our rooms (through grand gatherings) and last night started our ADRs. This means we are goin' to Disney!!
