Question of the day:
Today I ordered Disney Crocs online from Shoebuy.com, thanks to a DIS-er who posted a link from MSN.com that gave me an extra 20% off! Here's a tip: Shoebuy doesn't charge shipping. If you want to order more than one pair, go on today through the MSN link (it's at the lower bottom, on the right) and get one pair. Then, go back tomorrow through the MSN link and you'll get an additional 10% off for ordering again within 60 days of your last order. I got $65 worth of Crocs for $43 and no shipping charges either way!

Plus I called CRO and tried to see if I could "flag" my reservation to get the AAA discount when the rates come out. No can do:sad2: . I just want to get this settled! I'm budgeting a 20% discount on a mysterious room rate. I need to know how much my room is going to cost!!!!!!!

Have a great Saturday everyone!!

Your welcome Towers! :goodvibes

Wow you got a great deal on the crocs Sharadoc! I know, these mystery room rates for 2009 are so annoying!! I had to pay one night at peak season rates to reserve my room. And when I questioned why they do it that way since January is obviously not peak season she said, well we do not know when peak season or value season is going to be in 2009. . . I tell you what, if January becomes peak season my trip will be cancelled! :rotfl:

I will try to get a list of ADR matches going here next week! :wizard:

I don't even want to think about the possibility of January being peak. I don't think there's any way it will be. They have the lowest attendance in January - they would drive a lot of us away (or probably to an offsite condo in our case).

I'm waiting until October to make any of my ADRs, but I can't wait to see the list - maybe I'll sync up with someone else's!

Good Afternoon Snowbirds :)

I finally called the IPO at WL today and made our adr's for HDDR
We've never been before and we are excited about it! We are also going to be going horseback riding that morning at the campground and maybe some mini golf early afternoon :cool1:
I'm sure I'll end up doing laundry and not the mini golf though

So Mama Snowbird you can add this to the adr's I already posted ~
January 21 - HDDR 7:15pm

I tried to get info from the club level CM I spoke to about when to expect the 2009 rates and ddp, but she didn't tell me anything :sad2:

We are going in Jan from the 10th to 17th (so far) need to make the finals on stuff this week. Hope to stay at ASMo again.

Took me 2 days to catch up on this thread( silly customers don't they know I'M trying to DIS here).

Talk to a friend of mine who is a former CM of high standing (she retired last year). The reason for the trouble with the rooms etc in Jan is because Disney puts aside a TON of rooms for the Brazillian & S. American tour groups that do their 15th birthday celebration tours in Jan & June. The kids are outta school those 2 months.

We have been to the world 3 times in Jan before weather was nice!! Lighter crowds for the most part. There will be the crowds of teenagers but what we do is just hop to another park if there are too many.

We have been there during Super Bowl weekend twice WILL NEVER DO IT AGAIN!! What's worse it wasnt even held in FL those times!! AVOID MK AT ALL COSTS THE DAY AFTER!!! The football bigwigs are there & the park is packed. Plus people are getting goofy trying to get autographs.

I will post my ADRS hopefully on tue. I will have a day off from work so I can work in "peace".LOL.

Sure Can! :thumbsup2 But I can't seem to find your original list. Must have missed that somehow ??? Sorry. Could you please list all your ADR's again?

Thanks! :goodvibes

WELCOME Coffehousemom! :goodvibes

Thanks for all of your insight into January. Never knew all that about the Brazilians. Do they normally stay at the All Stars? I couldn't get standard rooms at ASMo. . .

Welcome to the Snowbirds! :cool1: Feel free to join right in here. Can't wait to see your ADR's!

There are several "levels" of tours but it seems like the majority stay at all stars. We had 5 tours staying at ASMo when we were there last year. The only "trouble " we had was the cafeteria was kinda busy if you went late for breakfast, & thet closed the Mickey pool one afternoon just for the groups so we had to go to the Ducks pool instead. We stayed in Andy's Room section never heard a thing at night.

Other DIS'rs have had issues w/ the groups. So far we have lucked out in fact last year in line at Dinosaur a bunch of the girls taught my DD some new hand chant clap type rhymes & really helped pass the time. DS just stared in awe at them ( he is such the ladies man & a big 6 yr old flirt)!

I know I'll never spell it right its their quintecaras? it basically is their version on sweet sixteem/ bar mitzvah type thing. They do a big celebration for turning 15. The kids are off school that month & the travel agencies book these big "tour" packages for that time. They come to Disney go to the parks & other attractions in Orlando. Trust me you will know them when you see them. They tend to dress in the same color t shirts & the group leader carries a flag & they have to stay around the leader at all times.

Of course I can ;)

Jan 18- 1900 Park Fare 7:05pm
Jan 19- Tony's 5:45pm
Jan 20- Chef Mickey's 8:30am
Le Cellier 6pm
Jan 21- HDDR 7:15pm
Jan 22- Sci Fi 5pm
Jan 23- Whispering Canyon Cafe 8:30am

BTW, from what I understand Brazilian Tour groups are groups of teenagers from Brazil celebrating their 15th bdays in WDW. In USA we do a 'sweet 16' and spanish cultures do the same sort of thing at 15yrs old, there is a spanish word for it, but I can't spell, I can say it though, I learned it b/c I went to some while growing up in AZ :thumbsup2 . Those groups usually stay (from what I've read) at value resorts, and can be somewhat obnoxious. We saw some while we were there this past Jan, but we didn't seem them being too bad, just acting like teens having a good time, and did seem to not have much supervision from chaperones  I've read horror stories on the DIS though.

Sorry didn't see coffeehousemom's reply
I'd say the spelling of that word works for me :rotfl:

Yeah, quinceañeras. That doesn't sound too good :sad2:
But that's why it's always good to have park hoppers!! As long as the hotels don't get too rowdy.

So here are my ADRs so far:

1/6 Trail's End Buffeteria 7pm
1/8 Sci-Fi 12pm
Coral Reef 7:30pm
1/9 Tusker House 12pm

I also plan on Big River on 1/7 but the CM told me they don't do ADRs:confused3

My mom is now looking at going down in January with dad and my sister.... but wait then who will watch my dog!! I just thought of that :rotfl: Well someone has to watch THEIR dogs so.... Anyway maybe I'll get her on here this week.

...and I could use some snow around here - 105 heat index today and I don't even want to think about the humidity, blek!

Since we're going Jan 23-28, I know I can only make a few of my ADRs. We're arriving on a Friday afternoon, which has EMH for Epcot that evening. I thought that we could just hang out at Epcot that day, saving us from parkhopping, then get an ADR for Le Cellier [of course reading the stellar reviews on DIS means that I HAVE to try it!]. Afterwards, I'd love to see Illuminations.

My question is -- will Epcot be unusually crowded because of the EMH? Would it be better to get an ADR for another restaurant outside of Epcot?

TIA!

...learning a whole lot from this wise group of people, such as boy am I happy that I am missing Super Bowl weekend at the world and I guess I'll need to bone up on my Portuguese so I'll know what all those Brazilian teenagers are saying!

I haven't been to Disney yet, so I have no "real world" experience, but my plan is to avoid the parks with evening EMHs. I think my DDs will probably be too worn out to enjoy the late hours anyway.

We will be at Epcot on Jan 23 as well for EMH  We were there the same time this year and it really didn't seem too overly crowded. Of course TT and Soarin were packed. Epcot is a big park and we are always able to find some 'breathing room' when we need it.

I need some help from my fellow Snowbirds!! :worship:

We booked our ADRs a couple of weeks ago, before we knew park hours. And now, our 8.05am Crystal Palace breakfast ADR clashes with Early Magic Hours at MK! Eeeek!

I'm a bit sad, because ...

1) We won't be able to get good photos of just us with an empty MK in the background.

2) MK will be busy that day, because of EMH!

3) We'll miss EMH because we'll be eating at Crystal Palace instead!

We could change our days around, but that means changing 5 ADR times, and I don't really want to do that!

Do you think it matters that much? Should I stop worrying? Or should I think about changing some ADRs? Eeeeek! Any advice would be great!!
