January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part I !!!

Yep, up to the 24th. I got that ADR for Le Cellier, but if and when the DP comes out I plan on moving that ADR to the Luau. Figures, its the first time I got a decent time on our Le Cellier ressie *sigh* We'll see... The boys really want to do the Luau and I'm not willing to give up Narcossees, California Grill or Yachtsman, soooooo I may be giving up that one- but I figured better to get it than not have it, yes?

Has anything been officially announced yet regarding ADR changes? Something I read said that today would be the first day that January 25 was the cut-off.

Today I booked half my ADR's (Jan 17-25) and was told no more booking for the rest until around Oct 24.

He told me I can call anytime before then regarding changes for before Jan 25th. He also recommended checking in before Oct 25th, saying Disney tends to give later dates for deadlines (which is usually the case) So thats what I was told officially.

As far as ADR's got everything I wanted within 20min of anytime I requested. The one that was kind of shocking was on Jan 25 he only had 1 dinner time available for our group (5) at the Sci Fi Cafe. Luckily it happened to be just 5min before our wanted time LOL Even he was like, go figure, le cellier and narcossees, no problem. Sci fi? Almost a no go.

So far our booked plans are:

Jan 19 - 50's Primte Time - 1:05pm
Jan 20 - Le Cellier - 7:30pm
Jan 21 - Cap N Jacks - 8:10pm
Jan 23 - Narcossee's - 8:00pm
Jan 24 - Jiko - 7:20pm
Jan 25 - Sci Fi - 5:55pm

I have to call back 2moro to book Yak and Yeti for Jan 18. They currently only book at 180 out and aren't part of the 180+10 for onsite guests. He was a bit baffled by that. But oh well. One more call then thats it until the fall.

Now I've given myself a stomach ache over this whole thing! I even mopped my kitchen floor and it didn't help! :furious: Because there were so many different versions to the rumors I guess I really didn't think anything was going to change until February 1st. It only affects me for 2 days, but I still think it stinks!

Just thought I'd leave a nice, uplifting post for everyone.

Yep, looks like Wishes is still a go! :goodvibes

We have to see Spectro this time. Three trips and we STILL haven't seen it! I just can't seem to get my family interested in going and sitting for over 2 hours to wait on a parade. :confused3 We have gone 1 1/2 hours prior and not been able to find a spot. And we aren't the tallest family (I'm 5' and DH is 5'9") so if we are behind a ton of people we can't see a thing!

I'm hoping that in January we can get a spot a little closer to parade time. :wizard:

Momof2Disneyboys - our Jan 2007 trip I knew nothing of the times when our ADRs were booked. We were rookies as planners :lmao: So we happened to walk into MK and stand right at the Main St Station gates, watch the parade at the start of the route, as soon as it had passed us we left and headed on the monorail for our later dinner ressies at Chef Mickeys! That trip was perfectly coordinated to a "T" for our ressies, parades etc. But it was sheer luck, we had no real clue as to what we were doing. We now know too much and I feel like we;re making a mess out of it.

So my point is arrive late and stand, my dd was able to stand in front and we saw everything perfectly, we even helped the CM with the rope to let people thru, we had prime seats and a new friend ;)

You mean mopping your kitchen floor sometimes HELPS? That always puts me in a worse mood. ;)

Don't worry, trixie.......I bet they'll all work out fine! :pixiedust:

Anyone get a good rate for POP in January? I need one night (1/7) and got a quote through dreams unlimited for $133:confused: DOesn't that seem high for one night? I've stayed there before and I know I didn't pay that much per night. Any body have any suggestions on how to get a better rate?

Its not the "real" rate yet- its a projected rate- so who knows what the price actually will be :confused3

Good morning Snowbirds! :goodvibes

Congratulations to everyone making their ADR's! :)
It really stinks that some of us won't be able to make all of them and have to wait 3 months to finish. I won't be able to book LeCellier for Jan 26th, and that one is usually hard to come by anyway. I hate to think of what time I'll get (if any) when I call back in October and everyone else is calling too. :sad2:

Good to hear! :thumbsup2 It must not be anything like the other times we have been there. 2 hours before the parade their would be so many people packed on top of each other there was no way you could see hardly anything that far back.

What's weird is that Spectro only showed 2 times a week in May. Looks like it is 3-4 times a week in January. Strange. :confused3

Okay, so I think Epcot is the only park I haven't posted pictures of.
So here you go!

Cool! Thanks!!

Last night we were watching HSM "Get in the Picture" and dd7 said..."I wish we could go to Disney World".......little does she know!! I just said, "Oh, you do, huh?" Heehee....

HAHA I was watching that too, but I was the one saying I wish I could go to Disney!! The boys aren't really into HSM so they weren't watching. I've never actually seen the HSM movies, but anytime I can get a glance of WDW on TV I watch it!

So do you think you are going to be able to keep it a secret for 6 more months??? DH says I really have the boys fooled telling them we can't go back for a few years!! :lmao:

Shelly, you take beautiful pictures! Thanks for sharing them with us! :goodvibes

Can I ask the QUESTION OF THE DAY?

If you could only eat at ONE restaurant while you were at Disney, which would it be and why?

Call me crazy, but I love HSM.

We've decided to tell them on Christmas morning (you are doing that too, right?) As we speak, I'm shopping on disney.com to find cool Disney stuff to wrap up!

They are soooo gullible......I think we'll be able to pull it off.:pixiedust:

Hey Snowbirds!

I got the confirmation e:mail from the IPO today with all of our ADR's!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Sorry for those that can't make them yet. Hopefully it won't be too much longer. :sad2:

Love those pictures of Epcot! Can't wait to go- that's going to be our first park. :lovestruc

Question of the day: Can't really say as I've never been to any of them yet!

Thanks! I think I want to be a photographer when I grow up!

Excellent Question of the Day!

Hmm. . . . It's hard to choose just one though. I'd have to go with either Crystal Palace or Chef Mickey's!

Why??? CP is right in MK, very magical. We have always had excellent service there. The buffet is huge and clean and has lots of great choices, even for my picky little eaters! CMickey's is next door to MK in the Contemporary. Another great buffet. We've had excellent service both times we've gone there too! And they have all the "original" characters! Mickey, Donald, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto - all in the same place. Who could ask for anything more??? :goodvibes

With that said, I don't think we are doing either one of those in January! :rotfl: We've been to CP on all 3 trips. I sure hope we don't regret skipping this one once. We've done CMickey's on the last 2 trips. We just want to try some new places since it will likely be our last time on the DDP.

I'm not sure if anybody has posted this yet, but January's EMHs are up! You know, on the EMH page! Yeah!!! :cool1:
