January 2008 Question, Advice Needed

Hi fellow Disney Lovers! I have a couple of questions! I am leaving for my 10th trip to WDW in 3 weeks and am already planning my next trip, for Dec/Jan of 2007/2008. I have never been during that time, so I am hoping you all can help me out! I am planning on going on a 3 day disney cruise, then spending 2 days at Universal/Sea World. I will then be checking in to a WDW resort on January 1st and checking out the 7th. I know value season starts the 2nd...am I going to have to pay the expensive peak season rates all the way through the end of my stay?? Also, how busy is it the week immediatly following New Year's Day? I don't mind some crowds, but I am hoping it isn't INSANE!! How is the weather during this time as well? Thanks sooo much for all the help, and I apprciate any advice/info you guys can give me!!!

Hi,

It will probably be busy all of New Year's week, but toward the end of the week the parks will be a little emptier.

There is no way to tell about the weather. You could have days in the 80s with cool mornings and nights, or you coudl have mornings near freezing with afternoons in the 40s or 50s. You'll just have to pack a little of everything.

Thanks for the info, does anyone else know about the check in dates?? Would I have to pay peak price if I checked in the 1st??

I am pretty sure value rates begin the 1st.

You pay for the season you check in- so if it is peak season when you check in then you pay for that the whole time. You can get around this by making a second reservation for the remainder of the trip on the day the cheaper seaon starts.
