January 2008 Pop Century!

Hi all, I'm a newbie to the boards.
But my girlfriend and I are planning a trip to Disney in the beginning to middle of January.
We're looking to book at Pop Century Resort.

My question is, everywhere I look online to book, whether it's through AAA, the Disney site, Travelocity, etc. They all say that "no rooms are available"

Is this true? Or is it just the fact that rates are not released yet?

Also, there's so many ways to book, this is our first time planning something. We have no expiration park hopper tickets, so we're all set there. But should we book a Room + Flight package, or is it better to do them separately?

It's because of the rates not being official yet. My girlfriend and I are going January 3rd - 10 and we booked room only just to make sure we have a room! If you call them up, they can reserve a room for you at the 07 rates and adjust them accordingly when the rates are finalized. With that being said with some of the activity on the disney site today, it looks like rates are going to remain largely the same for POP as they were in 2007. For this 7 night stay, for us, it's at 645.75 w/out AAA discount or any other deals factored in.

Same for my wife, DD and I. We have a room only ressie for Jan 1-7. It looks like the rates will come soon.

Now it's looking like the question is whether or not Disney is adjusting the traditional "seasons" I hope to high heaven that they don't decide to extend the holiday season past Jan 1. If they do, this trip just got a helluva lot more expensive


edit: just got off the phone with Disney (only the first time calling today, haha), in reference to my statement about extending the seasons, he said that in his 3 years working there the value season has always been marked by january 1st.

Also...aren't the cast members on the phone so nice? They must get this rate question a million times a day and they never fail to make the phone call "magical".
