January 2008 Package vs. Separately (FL Resident)

Going to DW 1/1 or 1/2 through 1/5 or 1/6 of 2008 (1 kid, spouse and myself) and I know the room rates are not out and you cannot book any packages, but can reserve a room. DW typically has FL resident rates on rooms that time of year (per review of historical discounts) and I can get 3 day tickets right now for $120 adult that will be good till whenever. I was wondering if the package that will come out will ever be as good as booking everything separately.

I've also thought about the DDP and seems like a lot of food to eat or try to eat b/c we never eat a appetizer or desert and many times I can share lunch or dinner with my kid at a normal restaurant. $40 a day approx for adult food I think we can beat that so that even further discourages me from the package with DDP. What do you think??

May be thinking about bring two child relatives (age 11 and 13). I understand that regular rooms are only for 4 at all mod resorts except some of the rooms at PO Riverside b/c they have trundel beds. Can't my 4 yo sleep in his sleeping bag on the floor and does anyone really care or are we required to disclose each person in the room. I've been at other hotels (not disney) before and they only seemed to care about the adults (those who needed key cards). I'd like to be at CSR with a reg room.
