January 2007 Discount Codes (Information on Codes - NOT A CHEERLEADING DEBATE) ;-)

We decided we really wanted a winter trip so we went with

Pop
Standand View
AP rate, 7 nights 2/10 - 2/17
$464.66

I will have to buy my mom a ticket from a broker, the rest of us have AP's but my dh is staying home this time and my mom will be going. The kids are so excited becuase Gram has only been once and it was in 1997
I know my mom will insist on paying for her own food but I will buy her ticket and pay for the room. We will only fly if we get a great deal, my mom does NOT like to fly. I don't mind driving, though, so no problem there.
We had to do Pop this time so we could still make our annual "Disney in September" family trip :thumbsup2

We are      today!

i am dissapointed, i got a quote from AAA for 6 nites at the Poly, with 7 day park hoppers and dining for 2 adults at $2886. The ZCL code came out to 2902! thats even more! i was hoping that it would be less! anyway, unless someone can think of somethin i did wrong then im going to go with the AAA rate. bummer.

I came up $50 cheaper if I get the room and tickets together from Disney... But Really It is cheaper my way by $35 if I get my tickets from a broker and keep my room the same... Around $2290 and $2320 if I do the package, that is 2 rooms for 6 people for 6 nights... And we would have to change hotels... So I just kept mine the same, Hoping for Room only Discount.....

This is what I had booked:

10 night at POP
Jan 14-24, 2007
2 adults, 2 kids
10 day MYW package
park hopper
dining plan
insurance
$3058.20

Used code: ZCL
all things remained the same -
the rate went to $2741

:cheer2:  For a savings of $317.82  :cheer2:

I think that is awesome!

Now I can sleep at night - the code watch is over - until next time.

all I want is a room discount.. some got it in the mail.. some in their email... but I am still waiting :sad1:

Dont be dissapointed. If you got an even cheaper rate somewhere else that is Great!!! I callled to see what it would be, and it was 100.00 more to go through Dis than AAA with the codes.
Your big savings is coming in through your room part of the package. It should be about 50 off the room portion a night.

It is all good!!

do the rates that AAA quotes you include tax? :confused3
Yes, it includes taxes. My room is $130.50 a nt at POR. My broker tickets also included tax and free shipping.

Is this a good deal?? i got a code for January/Feb. (ZCM) for 4 nights, and 5 day park hopper tickets, etc. Is that a great deal, or not??? The thing is, The first day, depending on when we get in, will not be a full day at the park, if we get in late, we won';t go, jsut depending on flights. The last day wil lonly be a partial if any, as we wil lahve to go to the airport again. I also have tow old parkhopper tickets that can be used when I go(no expiration date on them ) and so, technically we could only buy 2 or 3 day passes and then use my old tickets, and not go one day as well. But it may cost me the same, I guess if I break it all up? any suggestions?

Hi. You can specify how many days you want for the tickets. It can be different than your hotel/dining number. We are staying 7 nights, but I requested 1 day hopper as we already have MYW tickets from our last trip.

Hope this helps.

I booked this over the phone last night: AKL savannah-view, 2 adults, 5 nights Jan 21-26, total $1153.10, same nightly rate ($205+tax) as a previous poster. This plus the cost of the AP ($462) and a 6-day PH ($247 discounted) = $1862 (including all taxes).

The ZCK package price for the same dates was $1851 (don't know if the website rate includes tax, it doesn't mention it at all, but I suspect it doesn't).

We went with the AP rate. Even though it's $11 more than the ZCK price (if the ZCK price included taxes), we prefer the easier change/cancellation policy of a room-only booking. Plus we'll have an AP, so a trip later in the year will seem possible.

Rack rate is $285+tax, which is loads more money, and which we wouldn't have ever considered.

I drove myself a bit nutty trying to find a deal that felt more like a great bargain, but finally gave up. I suspect there is none.

Like the previous AKL-ish poster, I was hoping for something more like $170/night for a savannah-view room, but I guess I'm living in the past. When we stayed there 3 years ago, the AP rate was approx. $155/night + tax for an s-v room. It's gone up $50/night! But I think, in general, hotel rates have risen pretty sharply during this period.

Now that I'm over the sticker shock, I'm looking forward to sitting on the balcony and staring at the animals--my favorite AKL/WDW pastime. :goodvibes

I am such a dork, I forgot to write the price! $377 an adult. Is this a good deal?

I guess it doesn't matter now ,as now DH is now thinking of the beginning of December again! I hate not being able to plan, and he loves jsut deciding that day and going!!

Where is everyone getting these codes. I have searched the web, and I didn't even come up with anything from my Disney Visa card. I'm looking into a few of the TA sites like Mousesavers and magic Kingdom, but don't know if it is worth all the trouble

I'm new to this too. A couple of pages back the yshowed some codes people recieved in emails. I got an email yesterday with a code, (it is on the side and under the deal) You can sometimes find them on the Disney site as well, I saw one under a special and it said mention this code. I think Mousesavers .com also posts them too? I guess if you want to save you just have to do alot of looking and comparing. Or just trust your travel agent is finding the best one for you.
Our probelm is, we are going to be goin last minute, so we may not get any deal at all, and who knows if the Value hotels wil lbe booked up or not, or how high the flight prices will be. But if DH wants to be that way and wait, then I guess I don't care then. (well I do, and he wil ltoo, if the prices are really high! lol)

We are booked 5 nights at the Beach Club with 6 day park tickets with the discount but are staying at Boardwalk for night 6 without a discount or park tickets.
My Question:
If I want to extend the park hoppers to 7 days- can I do this, does it affect the discount? When should I do this, through my TA or concierge at check-in?
TIA

look here and bookmark it so you can reference it often

Also call AAA and check for rates and maybe it would be worth it to take out a membership. It was for me...actually the new code for free park hoppers saving was the same as my package from AAA. But at least I had that booked. saved me a couple of hundred off of rack rate.

The first week in Jan all the way through the 8th is booked solid not only are there no discounted rate but there are no rooms- I am guessing between new years and the marathon it is just going to be x-mas down there- so much for going off season luckily we have our room even if it is rack:rotfl:

Friends of ours were trying to go during the same time. A Dis rep told them to call back on Nov 16th. That was evidently the date that you had to pay for your reservation by, and they were about 20 value rooms to come open at the various All stars and Pop. I would keep back checking, you never know who will cancel.
