January 18-25, 2014 Fantasy Western Caribbean Fish Extender Thread

Can anyone suggest a vendor that will customize a fish extender? I keep thinking it would be really fun to find one that will match Jessi's room, so she can bring it home and hang it in her room once the cruise is over. I DON'T sew, so (haha sew, so) I'm going to need to buy one

Last february, on the fantasy, I jumped in late in the fun. I signed up for the FE 2 months prior to the cruise. I was in the 3rd group and each group had about 15-20 rooms per group. It was no obligation to gift to just the group we were assigned, but could do all the rooms if we wanted, it was up to us. They did the groups to help families to keep he costs down. I liked it myself for that reason as well as we were grouped with rooms within 3 decks. I felt I could budget the cost of 15-20 rooms with gifts better than 50-60rooms. This is just one crazy moms opinion, and a friend of mine says opinions are like butts, everyone has one and they sometimes stink... I will be happy with whatever is decided. Cause I love doing the FE!!! Thanks for all you efforts. I appreciate all you do for the FE.

As a student I am totally in the same boat, at the rate were going we will definitely split into groups otherwise it just becomes far to expensive (and takes up lots of room in your suitcase!)

My kids and I went on our first cruise on the Wonder out of San Diego in 2011. Our neighbor clued me into this and so now we are planning our next cruise for January as a celebration for me finishing my Bachelors this December. Yay! Trying to figure out who is going to be in which room still, and if each room is going to sign up individual or if I am going to sign up everyone. So I was wondering what info you need and if I can just leave it here as a reply or try to private message?

There is a list in bold on the first page of this thread of the information we're getting for people signing up. It doesn't matter if you don't have all of your stateroom information yet, as long as you let Megan or Myself know by the FE sign up cut-off date we can update your details. You are welcome to submit it just in a reply to this thread or in a PM, I believe you will need to make 10 posts before you are able to PM anyone on the boards though.

I don't sew either...so last time I just used fabric glue and it worked fine!

I worked as a seamstress for several years and while I'm not volunteering to make extra, as I am already making 3 for our group, I do have some creative solutions.
-you can cut out your fabric as patterns instruct and staple the edges of the pockets to the base and then go over the stapled parts with fabric paint, glitter glue or use fabric glue to attached ribbon or bias tape.

- punch holes in the fabric with hold punch or use grommets and a press to create reinforced holes to thread lacing or ribbon through.

For the stabilizing bar at the top, if you cant get a dowel the right size, roll up cardboard with a good layer of glue inside and rubber band it to stay tight, then either paint it or glue fabric or ribbon around it.

Just some ideas.

That is really a difficult question, mine obviously is Cheshire. My daughter is a princess fan, no specific or minnie. my hubby would be Micky. That is a tall order to put FE gifts based on favorite characters... I am impressed!

What helped me was when I googled hanging pocket organizer. You will find a few too choose from. I also saw on my last FE someone went to a craft store and picked up small canvas bags with handles. The decorated the bags for each person and used one handle and strung it through another bags handle creating a chain. They tucked the front handle unused into the bag.

My nearly-10 year old daughter Ella likes characters from Brave and Tangled and oh yeah... Mickey!

My 7 year old daughter Lydia likes all of the Disney princesses. She also likes the fairies, particularly Tink & Periwinkle.

And both we "grownups" (Julie & Chris) love The Little Mermaid. We had that one completely memorized long before we had two little girls, LOL!

For 'ALittleMad' Patty likes Cheshire Cat (classic Alice), and the little girls Dani likes Stitch and Alyssa like Ariel.
