I think it is a great idea to get started on the FE gifts. I want to get started as well. The only question I have is how many are in the exchange so far? Will we all be on one or split up in groups? This is my second FE, so any advice will be helpful.

At the moment there are a total of 20 staterooms signed up for FE
42 Adults and 32 Children (14B, 18G)

There has been talk of splitting the group if it gets too big but no decisions have been made as to how big the groups will be yet.

If you do want to get started on your FE and you're doing different gifts for the specific children rather than a stateroom gift it is safe to say that the first 20 people on the list (everyone who has signed up so far, details on page 1) will be in your group for FE.

I work full time, go to school, and have a three-year old (who will be celebrating her 4th b-day on the cruise), so time management is a must! I could join in and begin my planning now if I knew we would be limited to 20 or so cabins, so I could at least start with 'room' specific gifts. Am I understanding that correctly?

I kind of explained it on the other page but it wasn't very good..

People often choose to make their gifts because FE can become quite expensive otherwise, so they choose to spend more time making the gifts rather than spending lots of money on them, but its just whatever works for the individual.

Gifts can be given one per stateroom, one per person, one for the children one for the adults, one themed for formal night and one themed for pirate night WHATEVER you want there are no rules around this so again, its just whatever is easiest for you. This means that if you want to start now, you dont need to make gifts specific to the people in the stateroom, you could just do one gift for each stateroom (there will be at least 20 staterooms i'd say so you can make that many for now and know they wont be wasted)

If we do split into groups (which is looking highly likely with the amount of people already signed up 213 days out) it will probably be around 20-30 staterooms per group (depending on the easiest way to split the final number of staterooms).

Don't apologize for questions! Its much better to ask and know what's going on than be confused! Plus it gives me an excuse not to be studying right now....

Lastly if you're unsure about signing up for FE you have a while to think about it. The cut off date is in December so you can sign up anywhere between now and then if you decide you want to join in!

Another problem is if we did it by floors or AFT, Middle and Forward we wouldn't be able to split the groups until the cut of date in December. This would mean anyone making personalized gifts couldn't start until 6 weeks out as they wouldn't know who was in their group (another issue with this is that I've already confirmed if you're #1-20 you will be in the 1st FE group so people may have started making personalized gifts already!) Will post on here when we confirm how to split groups, thanks so much for the suggestion! Keep em coming !

Last february, on the fantasy, I jumped in late in the fun. I signed up for the FE 2 months prior to the cruise. I was in the 3rd group and each group had about 15-20 rooms per group. It was no obligation to gift to just the group we were assigned, but could do all the rooms if we wanted, it was up to us. They did the groups to help families to keep he costs down. I liked it myself for that reason as well as we were grouped with rooms within 3 decks. I felt I could budget the cost of 15-20 rooms with gifts better than 50-60rooms. This is just one crazy moms opinion, and a friend of mine says opinions are like butts, everyone has one and they sometimes stink... I will be happy with whatever is decided. Cause I love doing the FE!!! Thanks for all you efforts. I appreciate all you do for the FE.
