We have 3 boys and we plan on getting them each a treasure chest filled with clues, the last being a message in a bottle with an announcement that they will be going on the cruise. Right now we are thinking about pirate attire for the dinner, beach towels, goggles, sun lotion......

Apparently this thread does not like me! I've tried to post 3 different times and keep getting booted off!

Has anyone seen the thread about the new water slides being delivered to Castaway Cay last weekend? Apparently the new slide is to be finished by the end of this year! I will brave cold water temperatures to play on this thing! I would post the link, but I'm not sure if that was my problem last time and I don't feel like typing this over again (for the 4th time LOL). I will try and put a link in another post.

I love the ideas everyone is throwing out on how to surprise your kids with this cruise. I'm still working on the perfect thing. I did show Grady the picture of the new water slide and told him about his friend at school that will be on this cruise and how lucky she was to get to play on the new equipment. I also told him he should tell her about it and to be sure to ask her how it was when she gets home. I'm so bad!

I'm trying to come up with something to tie in this new attraction with the big announcement. My kids are pretty DCL savvy though. The last time we surprised them with a DCL in May for their Birthdays, Megan (6) guessed where we were going from the clue, "It's a butt!". This was from the movie Finding Nemo - we didn't give her anything else to go on and she read the clue and started yelling, "We're going on a Disney Cruise! We're going on a Disney Cruise!" It was priceless!

I also want to add our family to the FE list, but I can't get that to work either. My family is Me & DH, Grady (9), Megan (6) We will not know our cabin number until about 4 weeks before we sail (at least that is how DCL usually does it).

We are also going on this cruise (and two WDW days before) and looking for ways to surprise the kids at Christmas. I had thought about making a Picture DVD type thing talking about the cruise being a little more personalized than just the Disney Cruise DVD which they have already seen.

I believe a min of 45 days before cruise...and taking in to consideration all the holidays that fall in that time frame. why don't we say Nov 15th....that will allow time collecting/ creating gifts.

FYI~Pirate Nite!
I was at WalMart last night and came across a really cute tee for Pirates nite. It even comes with a striped bandanna that has velcro to attach to the head. It was only $5!

It was in with the Halloween tees. It is a white tee, screen printed to look like the front of a pirate, ruffly shirt with striped vest and belt with dagger and a parrot with a pirate hat on his head. VERY cute!!! It is toddler girls but NOT girly at all! It also seems to be running pretty generously as my almost 9year old could wear it and it would only be a smidge shortish. But she is small for her age. I am going to keep my eyes peeled and hope it does show up in kid girl sizes to get for my DD and DS. I did buy the 4T for my niece but I think it is going to be pretty big, but there wasn't any smaller sizes left. HTH's someone!!!

I was just working on booking our Pre-Cruise stay at the Radison at the Port in Cape Canaveral and they did not have any rooms with 2 queen beds left.

We ended up booking our room at the Country Inn & Suites. The park and cruise package was the same price as a room with a King Bed at the Radison and the Country Inn comes with a full breakfast! Well worth it because parking at the port for us is over $100.00 (7 nights @ $15.00 per night).

We stayed at the Radison in May and had a great rate, but buying breakfast ran the cost up.

Let me know if anyone else is planning on staying at the Country Inn and we can meet for breakfast!

Some of my favorite things we've received on FE exchanges were very small like a Pen with our cruise dates or post it notes that were personalized. I'm not sure how expensive this type of thing is, but it travels light.

Tiffany - How much was the room at The Country inn? I just looked it up and looks like it runs around $143?? I wish I had booked the Radisson when it was $107!!
