Just wanted to say welcome to all of the newly posted families.

It seems we still do not have a name for this dismeet group. DH has suggested "Dude, Where's my Anchor"The folks who started this thread are no longer cruising with us, so it seems we need some creative person / people to come up with something fun... any suggestions??? I'm creative, but am not good with visual/graphic design. I can brainstorm a design, but when it comes to the execution...not so much. I do have a program on my new Mac that I could play with, though, if needed.
Anybody interested in T-shirts??? I'm not artistically talented enough to even know where to start for shirt designs, but I'm sure someone out there can

I'm willing to try and put together a DisMeet, but this is our first Disney Cruise (2nd cruise total), so I would ask for forgiveness if it's terrible!

Not to change subjects too quickly - but just read the post about swine flu - it's rampant here too! In fact, today I am taking DD out of school in an hour to stand in line for a vaccine (she already got the regular flu shot a few weeks ago) They are saying that most people here won't be able to get their shot before December or January - well I definitely want this thing done before we set foot on the Magic! Can't have that nasty flu ruin our trip!!

DH, DD, DSIL, and I will be on this cruise. DH took his first cruise in May '09 and LOVED it so much we rebooked while aboard for the two week return from the Med in Sep '10. DD is now expecting and baby will be too young for that sail date so we are jumping on this one to celebrate both DD's birthday and DH's and my 41st wedding anniversary!

We had a teriffic group from last May. It was wonderful getting to know people before the trip!

It is exciting that this is coming up so soon... It will be here before we know it!

I will be lurking and I am sure DD will join in as well as DSIL...

I think that in my head it's a much bigger production than it actually is. Part of job IRL is producing, so I have the tendency to want to do big, big things.

Should I start a second list of people who would like to be involved in the DisMeet? as there might be a more than who are doing the fish extenders?

i think that's a good idea. I would be willing to do a DisMeet, but doing the FE's would stress me out. I have all I can handle packing the stuff we NEED. This year I'm going to try to fit all 4 of us into only 2 checked bags and a carry on each. I'm trying to keep the faith that it'll be possible. I bought some packing cubes from Ebags. Hoping they'll help. With the cost of checking bags on airlines nowadays, I'd like to save that $15/bag and use it for a Palo brunch instead.

I'm starting to get stir-crazy, looking to the vacation time!

DH and I will be doing a weekend down to Disneyland in two weeks. Now that the weather forecast is starting to show snow elevation, I know it's time to give into the rain months. We will really, REALLY be needing a few days in the California sun in two weeks. I just hope that it's not like that one time we went down there and it was colder and rainier than here.

Next week is when we can book excursions and the like for the Cruise. I'm trying to decide if I really want to, though. We'll be doing a private tour on St. Marteen, and on St. Thomas we're thinking that we'll just walk on our own. We do want to do spa services (would love to get a villa for two or cabana massage), but I know that those go quickly and we might not have luck this time around. Not sure if we want to do Palo or not--it's more because we don't want to miss the main dining experiences on our first Disney Cruise. Ahhh! what to do?

Book Palo Excellent food and service is over the top. We have booked a dinner on all of our cruises. This time I reserved brunch and dinner. One of my all time favorite restaurants.Love it! Of course that being said excellent is relative

Not sure if we want to do Palo or not--it's more because we don't want to miss the main dining experiences on our first Disney Cruise. Ahhh! what to do?

i had this same dilema when we 1st cruised last year, but thanks to the advice from the boards.....I reserved it for the Thursday night of the cruise. By then you've already done all the restaurants in the rotation, and the formal night. The "show" at Animators Palate is only on your 1st rotation in the restaurant, so if you miss AP the second time around, at least you did the 1st rotation when the fun stuff happens. We're doing brunch too this time. I'm very excited about that. I would suggest to do Palo, it really is nice.

I also would vote for before the drill for the meet. We are on main dining (at least I hope), so it would be a little rushed to do after. My DH probably wouldn't join us (he's not a big fan of "scheduled things" on vacation.) So it would probably be me (Heather, 33);& DD-Emma,7; possibly DS-Cody,14(who knows, he IS a teenager). My aunt's family will be traveling with us as well. Lynn, 39; twins-DS-Dylan-& DD-Lyndsay, 9. Her DH will probably be lagging behind with mine

Last year on our cruise meet thread we all posted some pics so we would know who each other was. Thought it was a good idea. Even though we didn't do a meet, I kept seeing people from the boards everywhere.

My DH is a bit wary of the whole DIsMeet thing, but I'm just making him go with it, guilt and all.

Myself (Jess) and DH (Mike) from ...ummm...a few years ago. He had just had knee surgery about three weeks prior. I'm sure he'll be more known by the multitudes of tattoos.

Does he have any Disney tats? A friend of mind cruised last month with a fellow DISer titled Fatcat. He posted some pictures of some VERY cool Disney Cruise Line tatoos.

She had them done on the ship. The girls doing the braids were up on deck 9 and we made an appt to come back in the afternoon. She probably won't do it again though. It was very painful and she cried, I felt SOOOOO bad. She did like them when they were done, but i don't think I'll put her through that again, unless she asks for them.

first you have to upload your pics to a internet account like photobucket. That's what I did and it was easy. Trust me, if I can figure it out.....anyone can. Then from that account you right click on the "image code", ?url? (see, I don't even know what its called, told you I know nothing), it will say "copied". Then in this box where you type, you will right click and click "paste". The code will be pasted and then when you preview your post it should show the pic.

My family last year (same cruise)...I know its hard with the helmets on to see anything, but at least its a start. Me (Janine), DH (Charlie), DS (8) (Charlie Jr) and DD (7)(Jordan). We will try our best to make the Dis Meet! My DD had the braids too (and AMAZINGLY wants them again), but it I too felt so guilty as it hurt her so bad. I even went to get her a smoothie to try to distract her...it was bad, but she wants them again...not sure what I am going to do!! I am thinking about having it done in a salon before we leave with a girl I know who can do it!
