January 16, 2010-Eagerly awaiting our Eastern Adventure!

YEAH!!! We just booked this cruise...we actually took the same cruise last January and just had friends ask us if we wanted to go again...well, DUH - of COURSE I do!!

I just had to convince DH which didn't take much at all. so it will be me, DH, DS (8) and DD (7)...this will be our third DCL cruise together and we are getting my DBF and her DH and their kids DS (11) and DS (4) to come along too. It will be their FIRST DCL cruise. I can't wait to show them around!!

Glad to be back on the boards again with only a short "vacation" from them!

There is no noise in these cabins. You will love the enclosed verandah. We're really excited about the encolsed verandah. I personally am looking forward to a cuppa and a book out there while sitting in a plush robe

I see you are from Kirkland, WA. I work for the fire deparment here in Hilton Head Island. The former fire chief here in HHI, was the fire chief in Kirland before he came here. Small world isn't it???? It's always a smaller world than we think!

We are looking forward to our cruise...it will be our 8th DCL cruise. We are trying not to get too excited yet. Although we will be celebrating our DD's
17th birthday, we are now waiting for school to be out, she is working this summer and lovin' the money she is making. We are big Harry Potter and TWILIGHT fans...and are eagerly awaiting both movies to come out. DH is a Harry Potter fan, I'm a Twilight girl...you know, that might be a good read on the verandah!

How cool! Our girls will definately meet and mine LOVES to meet new friends! I am so excited about this cruise and already thinking about what to bring, wear, pack, etc! Even though we cruised in January, but you understand that need!

I have a question for everyone (and some advice!). My best friend and her family are going with us and her DH is turning 40 the day we leave. We have always been pranksters with them and I want to do something HUGE. We were thinking of making shirts up for all of us that say "Who has 2 thumbs and is turning 40?" on the front and then have "THAT GUY" on the back with a picture of him and 2 thumbs pointing at him. The thumbs things is a quote from "the Office" sitcom which he LOVES...I think it was also on SNL years ago? Anyway, then his shirt would match in color but only have THIS GUY on the back. He may refuse to put it on but we would all have it on (7 of us). I was also thinking of making matching buttons and pass them out (just on boarding day) to anyone that would wear it.

All this so that as many people as possibly would wish him a happy birthday! Any suggestions, ideas, etc??? Would the CMs help us do anything? Other than decorating the room (which we are already set up for) and the cake/singing at dinner??

I would LOVE some advice and you Disboarders are always so good at things like this! I may post on the main board too for any fun suggestions! TIA

We booked this cruise over a year ago when we were on the Magic for the Mexican Riviera cruise.

I haven't posted yet because I made myself wait until I had enough $ put away to pay the cruise off. That just happened and the family doesn't even know yet!!! So I'm here today. We are up for "Fish Extender" surprises, Dis Meets, and just chatting. We even linked our reservations with another family last cruise so we knew who our dinner companions would be! Our dinner experience the first cruise was no where near as fun as the last because we already "knew" the people. Now I can say I'm looking forward to WDW and DCL in January!!!

The 4 month mark is quickly approaching! I know it's getting close because I actually started thinking about shopping for Christmas gifts the other day . And now is the time to get "end of season" deals on stuff for the cruise.Yay!

I am getting too excited too! We are starting to put "clues" together for our kids to find that lead them from school - to the airport - to WDW - then to DCL!!! I can not wait! We are starting some shopping too - these end of season specials are too good to pass up!

I just went to Old Navy and got a ton of summer shirts marked down to $3.98 and then 20% off the entire purchase (you have to have a gap, old navy or BR card) but I got tons of shirts and shorts for the kids that will hopefully last thru next summer!

I am READY to go on this cruise!!!!!

We got luggage spoters, luggage tags, Hats, lanyards, captains log, key chain and a pin during our cruise just for wearing their free hats (I forgot mine so it worked out well for me).

Our week onboard was amazing, it was our first cruise (I am in the navy, hence the pictures, but this was so much more fun). Now we are looking forward to being CC members.

Brent (the cruise director) was amazing. I have some incrimenating pictures if anyone wants them.

Brent was your cruise director??? Did you happen to find out if he would be the CD on the January Eastern??? He was ours last year on this same cruise and I thought he was awesome! I am soooooo hoping he will be the CD next cruise!!!

Brent is an amazing cruise director. He took my friends and mine harrasment with a smile. He joined in on it alot as well.

Well, we still have our reservation for this cruise but have been toying with the idea of trying another cruise line or doing WDW that week instead. We received our Castaway Club info and cruise planner the other day and I remembered how much we love DCL. And we have a SPH room. Yikes, we've got some thinking to do.

If we end up not cruising with all of you, best of luck hanging on until January and I hope you each have a fabulous time!!!
