January 15, 2012 - WONDERful Mexican Mickeys

That is strange about excursions.. when i am on the website i tried to book and explore exursions but I get an error message.. hmm

anyway I wanna go whale watching..
last time we were in Cabo we went to the rock .. it was a disney harbor and city tour.. so i wanna do differnent things.. such as whale watching or kayaking.
PV last time I went zip lining and DH went t9 Walmart.. so I am looking for a fun thing for both of us..

I need to figure out hotels and shuttles too..

We are thinking about Dolphin swim. Seeing which port has best deal. Also thinking of not booking through Disney but through a tours place or since it's Jan and not busiest time, maybe just going and seeing if they have space that day. Also checking out Whale watching but I have been told we should see plenty from the ship during the winter months. Would have loved a verandah but since this was real last minute we will just have to go on deck 4 and have a hunt for them...=)) Still reasearching what we wanna do. Not sure if we will get off the boat on second Cabo day...we'll just see what we think of our first day there. So excited....is it xmas yet???

Dolphin swim maybe fun.,. but i gotta see whales..
on the Alaskan cruise we saw a number of whales from the ship..lots of tails and such..but I wanna see on like SHAMU..where it jumps out of the water and all..

We are booked on this cruise as well, our cast of characters include me and DW mid 40"s couple, as well as DS 11 and DD 5.

We have cruised acouple times before, but this is the first with DCL but we are pretty geeky about the thee parks, its embarrasing to admit to friends the number of disney trips weve made.:wizard:

FE?? We've never don this before, and could go either way. If someone wanted to get it going I'm sure we would enjoy participating.:dance3:

Welcome Aboard!!!!

FE stands for Fish Extender..
029.jpg

This is a fish extender, it's hung from the fish outside the stateroom and then anyone who signs up to participate leaves gifts in it. Some people do goodie bags, some make things, some people buy things....it's alot of fun and tons of threads on the subject to get ideas. It's fun, the kids love it and I would do it if we have people sign up. Right now not many in here, however maybe we will have more people join that wanna participate!!:woohoo:

lol I know about the FE, just haven't done it. We are from canada, so I'm thinking some treats unique to the great white north might make nice gifts.

I've also got to come up with some nice unique door decor. I wish I wqas creative

I am sorry ....:rotfl: When you posted FE??? I thought you didn't know what it was:confused3 I can start a small web page keeping track of all the people on here. I have done it for my last cruise and my one in Oct 2012. Then if anyone wants to do the FE I can add a page with a list of FE participants. Sound good????

I would just need everyone to give me this list of info
Names, and kids names and ages.(we don't need to share our ages...:rotfl:), dining selection, anything you are celebrating onboard, also if you wanna do the FE then the stateroom number, and any allergies so people don't give things people are allergic to.

As for door decor. Thank Goodness for the creative DISigners on here. I have some cute magnets for my door that I am using from last cruise and then I will make some new ones for this cruise once my seasonal job is over. I work at Cedar Point for the summer and stay at home mom during the rest of the yr.

I say we start FE...might just end up being me and you....:lmao: Hopefully people will join cause I don't think this will be a large group.

Here is a link to a website for our group http://jan152012hanginonthewonder.yolasite.com/

We're going to have to opt out of the FE at this point. My wife is pretty swamped (no time to make the FE and gifts) and we're a bit cash-strapped right now. We're just barely able to do this cruise, but it's something we've decided we need to do for ourselves.

i am gonna think about it.. i'll let you know in a few days..

Does anyone know of a good way of getting from Disneyland to the port? We are from the east coast and are a little new to LA. We are flying out on Jan 11th to go to Disneyland first! Also, is there any way to connect your park passes and your cruise ship? (We aren't staying on property at Disney but did get 4 day park hopper passes). Thanks!:woohoo:

There isn't a way to connect your park passes to the cruise. WDW used to do that, but it was cheaper to book them separately.

As far as getting to the port, check out super shuttle, and price compare that with a cab or a car service.

to get from DL to port - Disney has transportation to and from either DL or the airport. Super Shuttle is cheaper at $17 per person per trip..

Hi all,
We are coming along with you all too. :yay:There will be DM (in her 70's), DD (14, but is mentally and physically handicapped), myself and a co-worker, fellow Disney freak. We have been on Disney Magic 3 times. Couldn't pass up the good deal for this cruise. We will be driving from Arizona the night before. (Oh dear, I hope I don't harm anyone with the drive). FE's are fun, let me know, we are in (we have 2 cabins). Late dining, but may switch to early dining. I am interested in the whale watching as well. Just have had no time to look up any information. Looking forward to meeting you all! :dance3:

We're signed up, too! Couldn't pass up the deal, either, and hope to surprise the kids for Christmas. Gonna tell them we're going to Cabo, via LAX, with a ferry to another airport. The "ferry" will actually be the Wonder. Hee-hee! Hope we can pull it off. :)

Welcome!!! Have you added....yeah I think we are up to 4 of us participating in the FE. :rotfl: That's ok....will make it just as fun!!

We are surprising the girls for Christmas too. I am gonna have a few presents to open for clue's. Like a tea set and a tag saying..."don't you think it's time for Tea" We always do tea with Alice so they might get it....that will have to be the last gift. along with a big box that will have balloons come out when opened and it will have written....Welcome Aboard the Nolan Family!!!

ok getting in the mode for this cruise..
got airfare (yeah United) , have 1 day tickets for Universal Studios in CA, so flying in on Friday January 13.. Saturday at US... then Sunday to port.. I think I will use super shuttle from hotel/port and back again.. it is only $64 round trip for both of us..

i keep thinking about the FE.. if I can convince my DH to help..I can make music CDs.. I keep listening to music and thinking that would be a good song..:thumbsup2

We'd be keen for fish extenders! Didn't get to participate on our last cruise but it seems like such fun!

Counting down the days. Most people are looking forward to Christmas but I can't wait till its over! Better start getting my pirate costume together.
