We (DW, DS 10, DD 8) just went went on our first cruise Dec. 6 - 10, 2009 and could not pass up the 10% off and OBC while booking online so booked this 7 day cruise. We had a blast on the 4 day cruise so really excited for a 7 day cruise. Too bad it is still over a year away but this week works best for us because kids have Martin Luther King day on Monday and get Friday off for teacher day so it is best week.

A little afraid at how cold the water is going to be at Castaway Cay but we are from Ohio so used to the cold.

I have added your thread to the 2011 Magic cruise meet list :thumbsup2

Wow, I just checked here the other day and I saw there were no posts for this week. I am glad someone go the ball rolling. This will be our 3rd 7 day Disney Cruise overall. We have done this week twice before and it is a good week to go. The weather and seas have been real good. Although, CC was a little chillier than the first time. The wife and I didn't swim but the kids did. It was real cold in NY when we left (9 degrees) and only 45 degrees when we got on the boat. CC was about 79-80 degrees 6 days later and both St Maarten and St Thomas was around 83-84 degrees. We did swim on our excursion in St Maarten and the water was beautiful.

It will be the four of us, Tim, Mary, James (8) and Moira (8). We are DVC members from NY (Long Island, actually) and love all things that do with Disney. I have nothing bad to say about DCL and we have enjoyed the Western (2007) and Eastern (2009) both equally.

Looking forward to other people coming on board (pun intended).

I think I was bad and didn't finish it but I did have a trip report going. You can find it here: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2070621
I did it through Thursday, I think I got to sad to finish it.

Tim

13 days until a WDW stay at the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge

Hi fellow DIS cruisers! We just booked yesterday. First Disney cruise. I'm so excited!

Me, Lisa (*****closed age), Dh(older) and Ds(6 now), from Colorado.

My parents will be joining us. They usually cruise Princess but are willing to join us. Some other family might join us too.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone here and hopefully meeting in person.

We just booked this cruise on Saturday while on the Wonder. This will be our 6th Disney Cruise and we can't wait! We have sailed on the Wonder 4 times and the Magic once. We just spent 7 days on the Wonder last week doing b2b 4 day then 3 day cruises. That was a lot of fun and the weather was awesome! In fact the day at sea last Wednesday was the best. The ocean looked like glass! Here is a picture:

I'm getting ahead of myself though. We are a family of 4: Me - Tiffany, DH - Doug, DS - Grady(9 will be 10 on cruise) & DD - Megan(6 will be 7 on cruise). We live in Clayton, NC.

Our Magic cruise was a Double Dip Western and I have wanted to take an Eastern Cruise, so this will be it. The only problem I think I'm going to have is waiting a year to cruise again! :rolleyes1

Hi Tiffany! I'm already looking at spring fashions and wondering if they would be good for our cruise. LOL

Hi Lisa,

Smart plan! We just brought our Summer clothing with us last week, but I wasn't sure what to expect in the Bahamas. I think the Carribean will be warmer! I did tell my DH that I was going to buy a nice swim suit that fits well for our next cruise. :rotfl2:

Hi,

My name is Teresa and my family will be on this cruise. We recently were on the 7 day Western, while on board we rebooked. This will be my 6th cruise. I have done 2 Easterns, 2 Westerns and one 4 day Wonder cruise. I will be cruising with my wonderful husband Kyle, and our 2 children Tyler (will be 11 on the cruise), and Kaylee (will be 8 on the cruise.) Although we just got off the Magic 9 days ago we are all so ready to go back. We live in Michigan and it is freezing here.:cold:

Well I just wanted to stop in and say "Hi" and I can't wait to be cruisin' with all of you :)

Hi Teresa! I'm glad to see that we have a couple repeat January families. I'm hoping for good weather next January.

Lisa,

We have cruised 4 times in January and always had beautiful weather in the ports. Castaway Cay is the questionable one though. 2 of the 4 cruises air temperature was great and sun was out, but water water was chilly for swimming. On the cruise we just got off of though it was hot on Castaway and I got in the water with the kids it was cold at first, but we adjusted quickly and had a blast. Then there was 1 time on Castaway when it was cold and windy, not a fun day, but I think that is a chance you take cruising in January. So all in all 3 out of 4 were good so I would say odds are in our favor to have a good day at Castaway :)

Thanks for the reassurance! Price is what made me pick January. (and Early December being too busy, my birthday ending with a zero is early December)

Great! Glad we will be having a FE.

Maybe sometime we can find a clever name for our group. I'm not clever with words but I'm sure somebody in our group will be.

Just checking in as we are slowly getting there but still a good distance away so....I couldn't wait...

We just booked a four nighter for 8/29. This will be our first trip on the Wonder. So, by the time this cruise in January comes arund it will be our fourth. Man, we are really excited now to be cruising twice in about 5 months.

Well not to rush it but c'mon already.

I was just looking at the DCL website and this cruise is selling out, so where is everyone? :confused3

We're game for the FE fun too! We've done this on 4 of our 5 cruises and love it! Plus having the FE up helps us find our room! :rotfl2:

What makes you think it is selling out? All categories are available. Just as long as we have enough people so they don't cancel, then I'm happy.

I looked at the rooms available in most of the categories and there are either only a few rooms left or they are in GTY. Our cruise was also the most expensive one of the January cruises which led me to believe that it is selling well.

This is so fun! I've kept in contact with one of our tablemates from the last cruise and she's gotten me hooked on this site.

We just booked this cruise (it will be our second) last week. We did the 7-night Eastern last January for our honeymoon and decided to book again for our 1 year anniversary :lovestruc We considered the Western but really enjoyed the days at sea and there is one less with the Western.

I hope we get seated with some awesome people again! We were lucky to be at a 4 person table, the other table with people our age (24).

I am so excited for January now. Our first experience was so amazing, even more so than what I expected. See you guys there!

Hmmm... and I'm glad we booked when we did to get a room with a Verandah! Deck 7 again yeah!
