:sad2: Was the weather awful or what? I want a do-over!

Oh well, at least it was a beautiful day on Castaway Cay.[/Q]

The weather didn't bother me that much at all. I mean the 1st and second day were a bit cool, but it wasn't raining and the 2nd day at sea was a little messy, but there is so much to do on the boat that I didn't hardly notice.. Shopping, movies, shows, activities.... Heck we only used the pool once and that was the first day at sea.. I had a blast and I can't wait till the next one...

I'm with you. I was beginning to wonder if I was on the same cruise. Key West weather was beautiful. Chilly but a sparkly day & perfect for touring Key West.
The first day at sea the sun actually peeped out in the late afternoon, it was a bit cool for me but my son went swimming. I did one of the ship tours and watched a movie.
Grand Cayman was sun & clouds, very warm. We scootered around the whole island and it sprinkled for about 5 minutes. The beaches were stunning.
We had a perfect sunny day in Costa Maya. slight breeze which was perfect for the ruins tour.
This was the only bad weather day I can remember. I kept myself busy on the ship. Saw a show and watched the kid's graduation. It was very cute but a bazillion kids! LOL I think the sun even peeped out at one point.
CC was a perfect day for that island. Couldn't have been any nicer.

As soon as I upload all my photos I will send an invite to anyone that wanted to see them.

Overall the cruise was great-man is it a bummer being back at work
my stomach is definately stretched.I still have the urge to call room service
I still can feel the boat rocking-i thought my house was rocking last night.

Yes, and where was my turn down service & towel animal last night????

We cruised the same itinerary, same week last year and this year was super compared to last year. Last year we missed Grand Cayman and Castaway Cay, it was very windy every day, there was very little sun until the last day. So, I'll take this year over last year anytime!

The rough seas did bother me a bit. I believe it was at character breakfast that I told my husband that I didn't think that a 10 day Panama Canal cruise is what we'll do for vacation next year :-) I don't remember from last year the cabin squeaking and creaking as much as it did this year. We had really noisy neighbors this year - a dad who yelled every word in the book at his two young sons.

Our servers were great! They did so much to entertain Trevor and were great at making menu recommendations. I will agree that the food didn't seem to be as good as it did last year. I was really, really disappointed that the Pirates IN the Caribbean night menu had not changed. The service at Palo was excellent, though the main course was not quite what I had hoped. I was even able to enjoy two of the meal ending drinks thanks to our server.

Castaway Cay was unbelievable! We loved every minute there and hated to have to get back on the ship. I seriously think Disney should just build a resort there and I'd vacation there every year! It was such a delightful day and I'd do anything to have just one more day there.

It's been a great ride with y'all!

Chris

We had a great time. Castaway Cay was the highlight for us. We thought the weather was absolutely perfect for the day. We had the perfect dining rotation, with Animators the first night, Lumiere's for both formal and semi-formal nights and Parrot Cay for pirate night. Overall, our group had a great time. DD got to go on the galley tour even though she is only 10 years old. She's in 4-H and is in the foods/nutrtition project this year, so it should give her some good info and pictures to do a poster for our county fair this year.

We just got home at 1am this morning. After the cruise we spent a couple days at Coronado Springs while my husband had a business meeting to attend there. The kids are off to school today and I get to do all the unpacking.

My husband and kids have already been complaining that there have been no towel animals on the bed, no chocolates, and nobody has put out fresh towels for them 6 times a day. At least the world has stopped rocking. Did anyone else have a problem with feeling motion while they were actually on solid ground? This lasted about a day after the cruise for both myself and my DH. I remember it happening to us the last time we took a cruise as well.

I want to start loading some of DH's pictures from the digital camera later today. Hopefully I'll get to post some pics later in the week.

I hope everyone had a great trip! ::MinnieMo

I feel like I need to clarify since people are wondering if they were on the same cruise:
.

Well, I suppose that was aimed at me.
I'm from FL and just assumed it would be cooler in January. We're lucky it wasn't this week, it's even cooler. My cruise last January was just as cool, not as windy though.
I guess I just planned a different kind of cruise for this time of year. I also saw lots of people using the pool on KW day and the beaches on GC day, I know it was sunny & hot where I was on GC.
I would have liked the second sea day to be better as well but i took advantage and did more things on the ship like the tours, movies and Bingo.

I hope you have better luck next time. :sunny:

I have to say that I agree with you... You go on a DCL not only for the Sun and Fun, but for the things that you can only get on a DCL ship. I loved the second day at Sea it gave us time to soak in all that the ship and the cruise staff had to offer. I enjoyed everyday of it... I have been to FLA in April and it was even colder then, then it was when we left port canaveral... Plus just think when it is warm the weather could be worse, don't forget Hurricanes... I hope that everyone had a great time on the ship and that your next cruise wil have Sunshine and happiness.... :flower3:

CPM - being from FL, maybe you don't realize it, but when most of us up north plan a winter vacation to go down south, we are hoping for some warmth and sunshine.

Actually I grew up in CT. I've lived in FL the last six years. My point was that you should expect months like Dec. & Jan. to be cooler, We weren't far enoght south to make that much of a difference. Not a big deal.
If you can get away in May, that is usually a perfect month for cruising. I wish I could cruise then. Nice weather, low prices.
We had a great cruise in July, but the summer can be awfully hot and sometimes rainy. the captain said we were the only Western cruise in June & July that had good weather.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say that we had a great time :cheer2: . It was nice meeting Cheryl and Pyramid2000!

Pyramid2000 - sorry we didn't get to do brunch.

I am just happy that we got to go to EVERY port. The not-so-smooth days at sea didn't bother me at all. :)

I was rockin' and rollin' for about a day after we got home. Even had to take a Bonine the first night home to stop the room from spinning. Had a fabulous cruise even with the cool weather!! We rebooked for January 2007. Anyone else rebook?
