January 14, 2012 Eastern Carribbean Cruise

All updated. I will do a document for the activities as well if we want. Right now the only meet that has a date is the embarkation meeting on the secret deck, the rest are listed but no official times/days. Do you guys want to discuss and let me know what days you would like those set for?

Thank you Tory for updating us. We have booked with Bernards tours as of right now. Hoping to do the Doubloon but cannot book until the 31st...

We booked with Bernard and are doing the Doubloon as well, looking forward to it!

No problem, if anyone wants to suggest meeting dates/times for the other suggested group meetings, all ears, no pun intended!

Does anyone NOT drink or have a problem with drinking??? We'll pretty much have secret deck 7 to ourselves (I would think). Evening relax and chat with wine or such could be cool. It's hard to say when to do stuff without knowing what's on the navigators.

I'm hoping I remember my dry erase board for the trip.

NOTE: bring a small magnetic dry erase board for on your door to announce to friends where you are or to leave messages on your friends dry erase door board.

Is anyone planning on going to the pirate party. Most of our group last trip were there but no one was with anyone else. ooops LOL

A dry erase board is a great idea! I have been debating whether to decorate our door. I'll grab a lime green Mickey paint chip for sure, but I'll have to think about the rest. I'll definitely look for a cheap dry erase board.

I have no issue grabbing a margarita and hanging out on deck 7 sometime :)

Maybe when someone posts some navigators we can set times for some meets? On our last DCL the adults had a standing invite to any adult show at night. There was usually a pretty good crowd from our group and we had a lot of fun. We also used the time to plan for the next day.

We aren't sure if we'll go to the pirate party, but it was lots of fun! I have great pictures of our boys from that night. I think we will play it by ear.

Hi, no problems here, quite a fan at times. On our last cruise we brought on one of those magic bullet blenders and made fresh fruit daiquiris. I love going to the pirate party. I just love seeing the fireworks, adds that extra pixie dust to our trip.

Momster have you visited the parks either before or after the cruises you've done. If so do you think it would be better to go before or after?

Anyone have an opinion on this??

I have not done the parks at the same time. When we cruise it is usually school time, (cheaper) so time is limited. Also, we live in Florida, so we go for the weekend usually. I have heard people do both. If you go after, it might help with cruise withdrawal :). Going before would just intensify the mouse that much more. Whatever the decision, it can't be wrong.

We went afterward because I thought it would be a relaxing way to finish the trip. :lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

I'm still thinking it would be better to get the chaos of the parks over with early and we should be able to relax a bit on this cruise but like you said with school there is less school/work missed if we go after. Actually only 1 day but wanted to know what others thought. I did have cruise withdraw bad and several of the cruise people went on trips afterward which didn't help!!

Good call, we can check out some E. Caribbean Navs in December and see if we want to schedule other get togethers.

I got a dry erase board a few weeks ago at Target in the $1 bins. It has a pictur of Phineas and Ferb cartoon. Yes, will bring that.

Yeah for Deck 7 private deck...sounds like a good spot for a drink...

We are doing pirate night. DS 5 will be getting dressed up I got him a costume for $10. He loves fireworks so this will be a special treat for him and the big kids (my husband and I) LOL

Tory Thank you for doing all those spread sheets. I am getting more and more excited. I have cruised other lines but my husband has never been on a cruise. I am hoping he has a good time and will want to cruise again and again....

We tend to go to WDW (or UNI or Disc. Cove, or...) before the cruise. We are go go go at the parks, and tend to relax a lot more on the cruise (esp with 3 sea days:cool1:).

I have withdrawl from any vacation. Surprisingly, the withdrawl from our annual camping trip to ANP is the worst for me. I think it's because we are all so close together and do almost everything together, with no technology. We really reconnect as a family during that trip each summer. That's not to say we won't have withdrawl from this trip though. We always do. One of the worst things is going to eat and having to PAY for the food;).

I find that the best way to get over the withdrawl is to start planning the next cruise. Ours won't be for a few years (until youngest DS finishes college, or during his break when other 2 DS can get of work), so we will have lots of time to plan...

Wow, got off on a bit of a tangent there, lol.

Have a great day everyone!!

We are staying the night before at the Holiday Inn Express near MCO, renting a car and going to Cape Caneveral with the kids and spending some time at the NASA museum and then Downtown Disney Friday night for dinner and entertainment, then back to the airport Saturday AM to drop the rental off and walk over to the terminal to catch the bus.

We did the land and sea package in 2008, hit the parks first and then relaxed on the cruise, thank the lord we did it in that order!

No tangent No problem:goodvibes

Sue I've already started planning the next cruise and haven't even gone on this one yet :lmao:

Thanks guys I think I'll keep my original plan and go before hand. I was really feeling the pressure as the Airline Ticket sale ends tonight. :thumbsup2
