January 14, 2012 Eastern Carribbean Cruise

Congrats Sullymonster. I have still not put my deposit down yet. I can't decide on the 7 day magic or the 4 night dream. My son thinks he wlll have more fun on the dream because of the new play area. I told him if he meets kids his Own age he can have just as much fun. He Will be 9 this tuesday. I think my hubby wants dream too for the aquaduck.I have never done a 7 nighter and would think it would be great. I was also waiting To see if any guarantee cabins open up. :rotfl:

Thanks. Ultimately we decided on the Magic because of longer cruise for about the same $$ and I have read a lot about the crowdedness of the Dream vs Magic which is a turnoff.

What are guarantee cabins?

Hey, I noticed on the Crashin' the Caribbean site that almost everyone is on the starbord side, is this just a coincidence or is there reason?

Guarantee cabins become available when the category sells out, then there is the chance of getting bumped up to a higher category. It worked the last 3 times we sailed! the crowdedness on the dream is another thing I am worried about. Where are you coming from sully monster? who are you traveling with?

We're in IL and my wife and I will be celebrating our 15th anniversary on Jan 18th on board. We will have our daughter who will be 9 by then and son who will be 6.

Four of us have cruised together before and booked a reunion cruise and booked ourselves close to each other. There is one more on the list that cruised with us too, but here room # isn't posted yet. We met on the DISbords and had a blast so decided to cruise again. I'm shocked JenGc hadn't already responded as she normally is miss quick fingers, but I'll give her a break since she left her job a month ago to make her side business her full time business.

It will get more active in a couple months. I haven't posted tons because I'm trying to get through my Alaskan cruise which leaves next week.

My cruise is also a surprise for the family. DH dosnt even know.

Welcome aboard to all the new posters!

Hi and welcome! :welcome: Well, yeah most of us have cruised before in October. It is going to be so much fun! I did a back to back and this crew was the fun crew so you're in luck!
I picked this cruise due to the longer cruise. I didnt like the short cruise even though we went on two right in a row. Plus I think the ports are going to be a lot better than this one.

momster24, my daughter will be 10 when we cruise and LOVES boys. Not like boyfriend, but for some reason, she seems to get along with them more. She is a tomboy so maybe she can relate to them more? I dunno. I was going to start another thread for the kids, but I dont have enough time to plant my tomato plants or wash my car! LOL So maybe when I get a sec, I will start one up so the kids can get to know each other better.

I CANT WAIT!!! I will start counting down the days soon....everyday teeheehee :teeth:

:lmao: miss quick fingers!! I LOVE IT! I think I am going to change my name now :scratchin

A thread for the kids would be so cool!

I saw this TA called Smart cruiser.com that gives $50 for every $500. I might need To check them out.

Dawn

If anyone is looking for a TA, I found one, that is a customer, that I love. Very sweet and very attentive. I wish I had found her before I booked this one. She is Erin with www.nevergrowuptravel.com she doesnt offer the on board credit that dreams unlimited does (that is who I am with and they are not big on helping you with your cruise, just booking things) but her customer service is wonderful. I will rebook with her on the boat.

Did I say I cant wait? I will say it again....I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

How do you plan on surprising them? I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I am going to do. My wife doesn't know either, beyond the fact we've talked about it and will decided something in the fall.

You guys are better than me! I couldnt last the week! I was going to surprise my daughter, but I ended up talking about it in front of her in a matter of days lol
I think I have said this before. haha sorry!

SullyMonster, I need details! Who all is going? What are the ages of the kids (if any)? Do you want to be linked so we all sit together? Do you want to be a part of the FE exchange?

I couldn't do a surprise, half the fun of the cruise for me is the anticipation of it. If I had to wait 8 months to talk about - I would burst!!

I am finally Going to book Tonight Or tomorrow morning. Thank you JenGC for info on TA. What is the linking thing, how do you do it? Sounds cool.

now to choose cabin, I know deck 76. Have to decide mid or aft!

party:party:party:
Welcome to everyone new!

Jen, if you're updating the site, Dave and I are scheduled for early seating for dinner. I have a feeling we may be lonely there...
We are thinking we may try to get a Palo ressie on pirate night-it won't be as fun as when we had the boys with us, so we might just skip it. Brunch is still up in the air. I think we might just skip the FE too.
Really, we are a lot more fun than this post implies, lol!!

I haven't thought the reveal portion thru. Probably while give in and tell DH but trying to wait for Christmas as this will be our family Christmas and both kiddie birthdays and my birthday present to myself as my bday is Christmas day. May give little presents that are related to the cruise. Anybody got ideas?

HI Jen,

Me-42, DW-(do you REALLY think I'd put my wifes age? ;) ), DD-9 and DS-6. I have put in for the 1st seating for dinner. This is our first cruise so I'm not sure if that is better or not. Forgive me, what is FE exchange?

I was thinking about pirate costumes as Christmas presents for the kids and then have mama open up the cruise stuff.......looking for ideas as well!
