January 12, 2013 Eastern on the Fantasy

Us too! Wondering what the weather will be like and how to dress! Early am in Jan could be mighty cold.

We are hoping for nice weather too. We have been to wdw several times in January and we have a wide variety of weather!

I will try again, but no it didnt work

And as far as the weather...my hubby and I did the Eastern Caribbean in January on the Disney Magic in 08 and it was beautiful. In the mid 80s during the days. The only cold time was the last day on Castaway Cay but only on the Serenity Bay side, the family beach area was nice. So we are planning on the same kind of weather :)

I don't knit but I may perhaps join you some early morning for company if you were up to it :) My family likes to sleep in. I find when I'm on a cruise, I'm usually up early easier than when I'm at home and have to get up for work :thumbsup2

Would love to have your company! Ships pretty quiet early am. I go to the gym usually first around 6am and then for coffee/knitting around 7am. I will have just finished the 5K at Disney though so may give the treadmill a break on this trip ;)

I have emailed and requested twice to be added to the facebook page :( . Starting to feel unwanted

I beleive the lady who started the fb group is no longer part of this cruise:sad1: If you want to friend me on fb I would be happy to add you.

Denise

Denise could you add me too! I'll "friend" you this am :)

No, just persistent. I didn't want to miss out just because I couldn't get one :) I checked several times a day for a cancellation and found one. I just booked cabana 17 yesterday evening. I'm a little worried about the weather, but the cabana may make the weather more bearable where we can still enjoy the whole day. Glad to hear you enjoyed your cabana :) I'm not set in stone about keeping this one, but if I give it up I'll tell everyone on here first.

I think it's great you were able to get it. We had #9. #10 was the last one where they have the umbrellas and chairs set in front. Given the choice i'd take 3 or 4 next time around. Close enough to the pelican bay area where the sand is much better dredged yet just far enough away to have privacy.

I can't vouch for that section in front of #17 but I believe it's on a sandbar so hopefully you won't have the same issues we did with the heavy broken shells and mini rock edges to deal with when trying to wade in the water. It would have been fine had we known ahead of time and brought water sandals. unfortunately we did not.

Bike and snorkel rentals were complimentary for us too. But I hear you about keeping vs not keeping it. Tough choice with just the two of you.

Just got our room assignments and made Palo ressies! So happy to be joining you all on this cruise! We are all running in the family 5k at Disney prior to the cruise so it will be nice to relax! Is there an FE sign up?

Welcome!!!!:cheer2::cheer2:

We booked early Sept so we're a little late to the meet as well. But it's slowly settling in as we get closer.

I can't believe we had to wait list to get Main seating :-(

Looking forward to seeing the Show on the last night since I missed it on the Dream Alaska cruise in June,
I understand its quite the tear jerker, DD says to bring a box of tissues!

Also looking forward to meeting some of you on board, I'm an avid (or rabid!) knitted and can be found in
The adult coffee cafe early am or pm! If anyone wants to join my knitting circle I'd love the company!

This trip is a huge gift to me and DH from my DD. we had planned to do the 5K at EPCOT and this cruise was
Just to tempting for her and she wanted us along too!!! She's a real sweetie!

I will surely join you for some knitting time.

Knitting? - No No No, but I am usually an early riser also, and may see you when I go for my morning coffee. On Carnival Cruises, they open the MDRs for breakfast (open seating). I assume they will do the same on Disney ?? I like having a leisurely breakfast, not worrying about getting to work:goodvibes

It's great seeing lots of new posters here on the Roll Call as we get closer to sailing. I am hoping for great weather:thumbsup2

You are always welcome to sit and chat with us knitters/crafters. After all, my hubby will probably be there for his coffee as well.

I think I would be happy with #17. It is the most distant and private of the family beach cabanas. All of the cabanas look great and each probably have their positives and negatives. I'm trying to convince my parents, both in their late 70s, to join us. If they come I'll definitely keep the cabana, If not, I don't know that it would be worth it for two of us :) I'll try to remember water sandals. Thanks for the tip :)

Hello Everyone! We just booked this cruise with a VGT reservation. We're so excited! It will be me and DSO. We're recent retirees and recent grandparents, but this cruise will be just for us. We did a 3 night on the Wonder in 2008 and have been looking forward to another Disnet cruise. We are also DVC members and look forward to meeting some Dissers and DVC members.

Welcome aboard. We too are DVD members. It is just me and my DH on this cruise. Do you mind my asking what DSO stands for?

Yes, my DSO is my Dear Significant Other. He enjoys Disney just as much as I do. We understand that there is a DVC meet and greet on the cruise. I believe that I read that it is 2:30 on embarkation day. Is that correct?

My DH hasn't seen the time but he says that's the usual; embarkation day.

After this cruise we go to SSR @ WDW for 7 Nights!
