January 12, 2013 Eastern on the Fantasy

Sounds very nice :) Not one we can do though :( Hope you have a great time planning it.

JENPINK:
Planning it is half the fun, if not moreso.:)
I love planning future vacations. I wish the DVC windows were a lot bigger than 7 & 11 Months:goodvibes

I hope everyone on this Roll Call that is on the East Coast stays safe during the Monster Storm. Please be safe, and take every precaution.

No objections to the FE cutoff or splitting the group. Looks like the total is a few short now. Let us know if and when this happens.

thanks

No objections here. So how is the group going to be split? How will we know which group we're in? I'm assuming the person in charge the FE will handle this, but has anyone actually assumed charge of it?

We're safe in the middle of the country ( Indiana). How are things in Maryland? You doing ok?

So far , so good --
We have a little water, from ground saturation, in our sump pump.
But the power is still on, and the pump is handling it. We're due to get the worst of it over the next 6 hours. We're in the basement level, snacking on munchies, and sipping iced-tea, checking the sump every hour.:goodvibes
Thanks for asking.

Its been awhile, but we are still on this cruise! I just booked our excursions, but since I'm a newbie I'm not sure I picked the right things but they looked good!!!

Are we doing FE on this page or on the facebook page?

So which excursions did you go with?:confused3

really its on both so either works. We are so far 25 families on google docs and I'm pretty confident we will get quite a few more. The group will split at 30 and the cutoff date is Dec 1 to give everone enough time with the holidays to get everything together. Curious as to what excursions you picked?

I figure we will spit it right on the document. I will draw a fat line where the split is and wherever you fall either under or ontop of the line will determine what group you are in. I think that's the easiest. I'm also plannning to have maps ready to help find the rooms. We had this on our last fe and it was really helpful

We are going on the Castaway Catamaran Sail and Snorkel to Shipwreck Cove
when we are on the Virgin Islands and then my oldest daughter and I are taking the horseback riding rainforest tour on Puerto Rico while my husband and son do the ziplinign (I HATE heights!). I think we are just going to walk around and explore Old San Juan on our own. Anyone know what time the ship sets sail from Puerto Rico? I'd really like to experience the "night life" as well :cool2:

Unfortunately, the ALL ABOARD time for San Juan is 4:30pm.

I'll be on that zipline in San Juan, also!:thumbsup2

Ok I'm a little confused. For some reason I seem to be counting 27 so far on the sign up sheet? Not sure why.

We were very lucky and braved the hurricane with no real problems. We live 50 miles inland from Atlantic city, NJ. We are so grateful but the devastation to our coastal communities is unimaginable. My heart goes out to those impacted. Many still haven't been allowed back yet to assess the damage. It's really bad and gets worse every day.

So glad you are okay Poison Ivy:dance3:
I'm sure the impacts will be felt for a long time, in NJ.
My DS and his GF had ressies in AC this weekend; I'm assuming they will be cancelled.

I also saw where the FANTASY sustained some damage from SANDY:sad2:

I'm grateful we got through it okay!

thanks for thinking of us. Re: Atlantic City - while I'm sure they'd love patrons, it's doubtful they'll be up and running this weekend. But you never know. This morning a reporter was surrounding in darkness in AC except for the glow from the casinos. the town is dark and damaged. They are working day and night to restore power but safety is a big concern. Nobody has been permitted to return yet.

I didn't realize the Fantasy sustained some damage. The reports from that Oct 20th cruise were horrible.

Yes, my DS & his GF got the call that their weekend stay in Atlantic City had to be cancelled. They rescheduled for Nov. 30 :upsidedow
As to the FANTASY, there are lots of videos online that show some of the damage. The funniest is one that CNN posted a link to, which includes a very brief view of a naked man who catches himself on film via the mirror in his stateroom. It flashes by very quickly, but you think the screeners at CNN would have caught that:rotfl2:

Cabana 19 at Serenity Bay is available to book right now on our cruise if anyone is interested :)

Thanks Jenpink! Just noticed your post! We just booked it - we have 8 of us  I don't even know what the limit is. It would only let me book 2 of us.
