January 12, 2013 Eastern on the Fantasy

There are quite a few in the big fish extenders thread. I'll try and post a pic of ours later on.

No need to post pix - I viewed them on the other thread, and now, as my Calculus instructor, Dr. Egerland would say - it has become "Intuitively Clear":teacher:

We are cruising as a couple with no kids, and would like to meet other adults interested in linking main dining reservations or perhaps going to Remy or Palo. We just got home from a 3-night Dream cruise, and we linked up with 5 other couples. It was so much fun! Instead of rolling the dice and hoping that DCL would seat us with fun people, we felt like we were cruising with friends. Now, we are friends!

We are in the Facebook group (I am Jerry) and I tend to check that more than this meet thread. But if you are interested in dining with some fun people, please let me know! We get to make reservations for Palo/Remy and a cabana this Saturday (9/29).

How about those Replacement Refs !?:confused3
I hope the real refs are back before we sail; or the playoffs will be terrible.:headache:

I hope so too! Good news is that they will show the playoffs on the ship! We saw Thursday night football on the Dream last week. I hope I will be watching my team playing at home, torn that I could be there watching but happy to watch on the Fantasy!

Here's pics of the fish extenders I made for our last few cruises.
The one with the red pockets, we were in a regular stateroom, and you can see in the photo the area the FE has to hang. It literally isn't much more if at all, than 8 inches wide. The CARS FE, I used last fall while cruising with my son and a friend of mine (we left the hubbies at home and had a semi girls trip :) )
We had a HA stateroom and there was virtually an entire wall beside the hook to hang the FE on, lots of space there, but in the one photo, you can see the door right next to ours, (the photo of my son checking out his FE gifts), that stateroom has very Little space to hang an FE from. So I would definately stick with the "No more than 8 inches in width rule" for making FE's :)

We are party of 6, all family that enjoys clean fun together, mom / dad / 2 sis's & 2 bro-in-laws, all ages & all adults, looking to join with successful cabana grabbers. We may do specialty restaurants but really interested in tagging along & sharing cabana costs at Castaway Cay.

Hi Funkychicken and welcome.:wave2:

We are really looking forward to this cruise too. :goodvibes I see you have a DD who will be 7 at the time of sailing. We will have a DD who will be 8. If you're interested in having your daughter write mine before the cruise--just PM me or there is also a kid's thread for this cruise that she is on too.

Hi there. Old time member, long time lurker here.
My hubby and I will be on this trip (as well as the cruise just before it) I booked two 7 night back to backs, so this is the second of our two cruises.

It would be wonderful to meet other awesome people :)

Anyone care to explain to a noob what the FE is all about?

Lots of info on them here on the boards, but in a nutshell, it's a gift exchange.

FE stands for Fish Extender, which is a pocket or pockets that are hung from the fish shaped clip outside your stateroom as a sort of mailbox.

Well my Wifey and I are booked on back to back Western to Eastern caribbean starting with this cruise, we just can not wait to go however we do love the anticipation. These will be our second and third Disney cruises and must say we are hooked. Lok forward to seeing some of you onboard. We went on the Magic in January to the Eastern.

Great Minds Thinks Alike, apparently.
My husband and I also booked this cruise as part of a 'two back to backs' trip, with this actually being the SECOND of our two. Our last one was also in January on the Magic (in 2008) . This is also our 2nd and 3rd cruises respectively :)

Hello Everyone!

Just dropped in to let you know my husband and I are now sailing on this cruise!

We are two adults. This will be our second Fantasy cruise. We sailed back in June on a 7-nt Western.

Would be interested in joining the FE if it's still an option.

We've never been on an Eastern so trying to gain an idea of excursions. Weather remains a big question for the beach etc.

Look forward to sharing ideas here.

WOW -
Lots of activity here this weekend.:cheer2:
We were camping, only a few more weeks left in our season.
I'm happy to see all the new cruisers - WELCOME!:wave2:

Still curious if anyone wants to share an adults only Cabana on Castaway Cay/Serenity Beach??
(Hope one is still available)pixiedust:

We are gold castaway club members, so were able to make reservations as of this past Friday night at 9:00pm California time. No cabanas are left - all sold out  They must have been sold out before it was even our turn as we were on the site within seconds of the window opening. There were still quite a few times available for Palo brunch, but that is all we booked at this point. Will keep checking for cabanas, though, in case there are cancellations!

I too was able to book ressies this past weekend, Midnight here. We were away camping for the weekend too, in cabins. The director of the camp let me hook up my laptop with an ethernet cord, in his office. The nursing staff were still up when I went in, but left after I started getting set up. Should have asked one of them to stay as even hooked up directly to the modem, the thing was still asking me for a password. Darn it. So back to the cabin I went, turned the DATA on, on my cell phone, and used that tiny little screen to manage getting my online check in done and ressies made :) It worked, and I was able to get what we wanted :) Lots of Palo Brunch and Dinners available when I booked, so maybe it will stay that way for the next band of cruisers that can book as of Oct. 14th ? Counting the days, and our main task now is to figure out when best to leave here to get us down there, and how best to do it. We are 3 families driving in 3 separate vehicles, and it's a 24 hour drive, not calculating in stops along the way. :)

quick question for those of you already checked in. Are you required to complete the online check-in first before accessing the booking windows.

No you don't have to. I did as I wanted to get the earliest port arrival time.

Is anyone interested in a Pre Cruise Meet for dinner the evening before at either Fishlips or Grills?

I have been reading up on San Juan, it sounds really neat! We haven't decided on an excursion, but right now, it looks very walkable. As for St Thomas, we are going to take DS on his first snorkeling adventure. He has been practicing in the Y pool with his mask and tube, very funny to watch. We had to reassure him that he probably won't see any man eating sharks (at least we hope not:). I can't wait!!! Maybe I can get my weekly fix by watching the Fantasy sail out tomorrow pm. Its easier to pass time by the sail aways on Saturdays.
