WooHoo! -
Happy Dance time......
...just made final payment on this cruise - & can start booking tours in 47 days![]()
Just booked this cruise!! David, Alyson, Evan (15), and Jillian (13) will enjoy our 3rd Disney cruise while Grandpa and Grandma enjoy their 8th. Countdown is on! We'll be ready to ditch the Iowa snow for some caribbean sun!
We're also booked on this cruise4 of us... myself (Michelle), DH (Matt), DS (Benjamin 6) and DS (Alexander 3). We're in 9577.
It's just our second cruise - we were on the Magic in the Med last summer. So excited to get back on another cruise!
Sorry I haven't been very chatty on the boards or our FB page. We found out that DH is being deployedand I have been going back and forth about canceling the cruise.
I will be homeschooling 2 kids and will probably need the break, but I feel guilty going without DH. On the other hand, the military will probably move us back to the west coast as soon as the deployment is over and the kids really want to go on the Fantasy. DH is fine with us going without him, I'm just afraid that it will be more stressful than relaxing for me (just the thought of driving 16 hours with the kids by myself gives me a headache).
I went ahead and bought FE gifts but I'm still on the fence...maybe some of you single parent cruisers can reassure me that it's not as hard as I imagine![]()
Not a single parent, but after 33 years of marriage, my advice to you is to go, if you can do it without major inconvenience. Your husband will feel good knowing you are enjoying the vacation, while he is deployed, and he will not feel guilty for being the reason you all can not go. It will also be a nice diversion for you & the kids while he is deployed, and give you something to remember, so as to tell him all about it, upon his return. And the relocation to the left coast, is even more-so a reason to do it now.
How old are the kids?
Do they travel well?
Assuming they do; I 'm sticking with my suggestion.![]()
The kids will be 5 and 8 when we sail and they are good travelers. I am just recalling the thrash from previous cruises of getting everyone ready for dinner, taking the kids to separate activities, getting them settled in at night...things that are much easier with 2 parents. Did I mention that my kids are SUPER busy? (emphasis on the super)
On past cruises they have loved the clubs, so I'm hopeful that I will get some alone time while they play in there. I am also considering changing our dining from main to late. We were always in a hurry to get back to the room to get dressed for dinner and now that will take even longer.
This would all be much easier if I knew where we will be living next summer, but with the military you can never tell![]()

Just asked to join the facebook group. Denise Swales is my name.
Thanks
Is there a facebook group for this cruise? If so, I'd like more info!
Yes! It's actually more active over there. Just go to Facebook and search for 1/12/13 Disney Fantasy Cruise and ask to join the group![]()
