January 12, 2013 Eastern on the Fantasy

Just booked this cruise this morning! This will be #10 for my wife and I. I just asked to join the FB group, so I will see you there!

Jerry aka: DVCNuts

Ahoy, DVCNuts, and welcome to this cruise.:goodvibes
we are less than 5 months out, now......:cool1:

Hello everybody.
My name is Sue and DH Richard is registered on the DIS as BabyDiver. Even though he has been diving for over 30 years LOL....

We live in the UK and look forward to our USA holidays and Disney cruises and have made some really good friends.

We booked this cruise while we were on the WBTA last Sept from Barcelona and looking forward to it very much.

Just found this site so now must sit down with a coffee and read all the posts to catch up....but before I do..

Is there going to be a meet in the Promenade Lounge at 3pm on embarkation day as has been arranged on other cruises? :jumping1::jumping1:

Welcome BabyDiver:) As far as I know there is interest in a meet and greet, however there has been discussion to have it on the first day or on a sea day when we are not so rushed. I'm sure whatever is decided will be posted here though.

Hello all - my family and I will apparently be joining you all on this cruise. A couple days ago, my parents informed my sister and I that they will be taking us and our families on this cruise. To say we are excited is an understatement.

Ten of us in all, including 4 kids (2, 9, 12 and 14).

Hi kristof65,
:welcome: to the disboards! What a great surprise your parents gave you and your sister! :banana:My daughter (14) wanted me to let you know that there is a kids/teens thread in case any of your kids were interested.

Thanks Vicki.

The grandkids haven't been told yet, but I've already got the thread book marked for when they are.

My mom wants to tell them in person all at once, but that won't happen until October. In the meantime, my wife and I have to "suffer" in silence.

This will be our first Cruise ever and we can't wait. Told my wife about the fish extenders, and she thought it was great, so we'll be signing up for that soon.

Chris

Hi Everyone,

Welcome Phantomzkb!
Did you do the same ports on the MAGIC?:confused3
What is your favorite thing about a Disney Cruise (This will be our first):goodvibes

Congratulations Vicki on your new little bundle of Joy. How amazing is a new child!!!!!!

On another note, MY DAUGHTHER GOT MARRIED YESTERDAY!!! New Last name, now I have to change that on our Reservation :) Gotta get her a new passport and now get those beautiful babies each a passport :) Here's a snapshot from Sunday, the Bride Groom, two babies and the Ring Bearer are all part of our Travel party for this cruise. The cruise is a gift from us, to be their delayed HoneyMoon :)

Nice photo: I love the blue bridesmaids dresses.
How old are the twins?

Summer is almost over; once Football season starts, it will be Football, and planning for this cruise that will carry me through til 2013!:goodvibes

The twins are currently 3 months old and will be turning 8 months on the last day of our cruise. Should be quite the experience cruising with babies, as we've never done THAT before :)
I'm looking forward to the start of the Hockey Season, but the DH was saying there is a possibility there won't be ANY Hockey this year? What the heck is up with that?
Anyway, yes our focus is now changing to Christmas and this cruise :)

My Mom broke down and decided to tell the grandkids earlier than she planned, so as of this Tuesday, my wife and I can actually show our excitement.

Hope everybody had a good Holiday weekend:cool2:
Now summer is officially over:(

But it's September, so we are only 4 months away from CRUZIN!
:dance3:

Whew. Grandma told the grandkids today. The only one who isn't excited is our two-year old, but that's just because she doesn't really understand yet. My 14 year old niece is already campaigning her mom for a new dress for the formal night (of course, it will do double duty for homecoming, too.)

My son is excited, but the possibilities haven't quite sunk in yet.

We're relieved that we don't have try to keep the secret any more...

Hi Denise

From other Disney cruises we have been on the Meet & Greet at 3pm on embarkation day has worked really well. Most people are on board then and have sorted out there dining/cabin alterations or bookings and there is a lull before the lifeboat drill and sail away party.

As Disney put on all sorts of nice things to do on sea days as well as privately organised Pub Crawls etc these days can be fairly busy.

My personal vote would be to have the Meet and Greet on Embarkation day and get to know one another and sort out what identification we are going to have so we know one another in passing. ie special coloured lanyards or bracelets etc.

Just a thought.:):dance3:

I would LOVE to capture a GROUP photo too at the meet and Greet! Atrium is great for that, as there are the stairs to stand the group on so people in back can be seen as well. :thumbsup2

Sounds good, TJ::yes::
Do you dabble in photography? Can you make me look like George Clooney ??:confused3
