Anyone getting a cabana? I would but worried it might be too cold

We are doing a B2B, and booked a cabana for the cruise prior to this one.
We were on a Christmas cruise a couple years ago, and had a cabana. While it wasn't warm enough for ME to go in the water, there were quite a few people who did. We just spent a relaxing day in the sun, as it was plenty warm enough to lounge on the deck. That being said, we have been to WDW many times in January, and the weather has varied WIDELY from one year to the next. Sometimes we wear shorts, sometimes we wear multiple layers with gloves and hats. So we will cross our fingers and hope for the best!

I was on two different President's Week cruises, and on one, we went in the water at CC and the other, we got off the ship in sweatshirts and capris and just got some sun. I wouldn't rent a cabana, I'd wait for a cruise when you know the weather will be good for the beach.

I haven't asked DSis or DCuz, but you're right about the weather being a bit iffy. One thing I do on our DCL cruises is catch up on movies. I saw two on our 5 night cruise in August. I think I would rather watch a movie than be chilled in a cabana. I've been to Nassau in November, and did swim, but January could be a whole different story.

How about you? Do you have any experience with the Bahamas in January?

I'm inclined to book a snorkeling tour from a boat on CC. It's less money and if the weather is nice enough to snorkel, it will be in/out.

The water was cool this January 2012
And the Bahamas Are breezy in the winter so sitting in the sun would be ok unless it is warm you might be in a sweatshirt it is a guess

Sting rays. No manatees

Sorry, I meant wet suits!:goodvibes

I asked DCuz and DSis and they want to stay on the ship on CC, interested in movies. I would want to ride a bike at least.

Maybe. Enjoyed getting the postcards instead of my usual bills

OK, just PM me if you decide to do it. Sign ups are until the end of September, even into the beginning of October.

We do not need a passport for this cruise.

if you have been married and your last name has changed and it does not mach your birth certificate they will give you a hard time .they did not want to let me,my mom or my sister on the ship in 2010 when we did the members cruise.then when we got off the ship customs did the same thing.

I would recommend a Passport or Passport Card, just to be safe. The expense is there, but the peace of mind of knowing that you have it, somewhat off-sets the cost and it is good for 10 years. I just had to get mine renewed and they turned it around in less than three weeks. New ones take slightly longer, but there is still plenty of time to get it squared away before January.

Also bring marriage license to clear that up

Bumping it up and mentioning the Halloween card exchange! I'll be sending out names at the end of September. PM your information to me if you are interested!

We should be able to hear all the details then. Any word on the tshirt being sold yet? Has anyone booked any spa sessions or excursions at castaway? We were able to book at 120 days but are just going to fit in as many regular activities as 3 days will allow.

Really am excited about going. If there are three adults in the room, do they leave gifts for all?

I think so! We have 3 in our room, DSis, DCuz and myself, the DVC member.

I haven't booked anything, special.
