January 10-14 2010!!! 4 nights on the Wonder

UPDATED - let me know if I am missing anyone.

HallsofVA:
ROOM # 7514
Cathlee
DH - John
DS - 5 (turning 6 1/14)
DD - 3

Hi Natale. I don't know if it matters or not, but can you add the "n" to the end of Cathleen for me? Thanks!

Our boat must bet getting full!
the only room it will now let a family of 4 to book is a cat 5!!
I also tried just two adults and it would only let me book a cat 9.

They can't resist the kids sail free offer, I bet.

Have you checked out the Mickey tie-dye shirt instructions on the Disboards? I'm thinking about making some.

Very cool! I have the link saved... I think it would be a cool project for Dexter to do with me.
Have you checked out this one.. it's a bit different - but still cool.

Hi All.....We're booked!!! Me...Deb....and DH.....John....will be joining you on this cruise. It's John's birthday on the 11th....so we're celebrating! We're in a cat 7 on Deck 5....I forget the exact stateroom number.....I have to look it up. We normally travel in SR 5122...it's our favorite and it's a cat 6 on deck 5 port side aft....for the newbies sailing with us that means.....left side, rear.....well left if you're standing behind the boat....with the nose facing north. My DH had to teach me all this on our first cruise. He's a Navy man! I was clueless. I still get lost everytime onboard and this will be our 8th cruise. Oh well, no hope for me....

It's nice to "meet" you all and I can't wait until we sail together.:cutie:

I'm not sure that we'll do FE gifting on this cruise. This is kind of like a "no frills" cruise for us. We wanted to get to Platinum as Castaway Club members and we only needed to book two more cruises. We picked this one and onboard we'll book a 3 nighter at the end of April. We already have a Western booked in Oct 2010. When we get off that one, we'll be Platinum. Then we're booked for two 2011 cruises to sail as Platinum for the first time. It's a goal, normally we only do one cruise a year.

Can you say addicted to DCL?

Me and John said if we ever won lotto...we would sail for a year in 5122 and go wherever the ship took us. It's like home to us.

Just wait....all you newbies sailing DCL for the first time. Wait till the bug bites you too! Ha Ha!

Hey Nat, thanks for taking such good care of us and keeping us organized on this thread. Well done!

I'll let you know our stateroom number after I look it up. For now, you can just add our names to the Roll Call list. Thanks.

John's DIS name is 1Grumpy John. He likes to keep up with the DIS Dads thread.

I'm EllaEnchanted!

I hate airfare sales AFTER you've bought your tickets!

I bought my plane tickets on United for this cruise and the 3day we're doing 1/7 a week or two ago. A few days after I bought them the return leg went on sale. Now they've put the entire round trip on sale - would have saved me $60/ticket. Unfortunately United charges $150 per ticket fee to reprice tickets at new fares so obviously no getting the lower price.

Unfortunately the one day/time I need United to put on sale (the return leg for my Dec cruise) is still priced too high to warrant me rebooking on United for that leg and canceling the Southwest tickets we bought. And I could really use that flight in December since I think I may be 1 segment short for the year toward my Premier status requalification.

grumble, grumble, grumble. Okay. I feel better now!

WELCOME EllaEnchanted! I'll update the roll call tomorrow. I need sleep now!

I'll definitely post pictures of the shirts after we have a chance to make them! :thumbsup2

I know I'm a BIG dork... but as of right now DCL is no longer taking the Kids Sale Free offer for our dates!!! Our boat must really really be filling up.. I wonder where everyone is :confused3

I'm trying to keep busy and not obsess too much or else I'll be checking our reservation everyday to see if our room number is going to pop up.... EVEN though I know it won't happen until 30-35 days out. :)

If anyone gets one of those upgrades for Cash offer Phone Calls from DCL please let us know!!! :yay:

I want to know how these shirts turn out! I am NOT crafty at all, but they look so cute! My DD would love to make them!

We have made these shirts the last two trips for our family. First trip we use white shirts and everyone used different neon colors. Last year for our christmas trip to Disney, we used green shirts with white paint. We got a lot of compliments!!

My family is going on this cruise!! We are so excited. I have 2 kids (DS is 6 and DD is 4 - almost 5). I would be up for doing the FE if I knew what it was all about!!! :)

My name is Melissa - my husbands name is Chris.

Question - will I be able to get my daughter into the same kid area as my 6 year old???

YEAHHHHHH, we are paid in full!!!!!! We're making our plans and booking our travels.

We're going to be staying in Cocoa Beach for 2 nights before cruise....anyone else staying near the port before hand?

Then we're doing 1 night at Cocoa Beach after cruise. I had to add on the hotel nights so that I could fly with Air Tran out of ABE, our local airport. I got a flight for $59 one way/pp. That's great!

Then we get to make a full week out of it. I'm right within budget for all expenses totalled, i.e. air, car rental, parking fees and hotel.

Now all I have to do is print out some door magnets and pack!!! Can we leave now?

Already October! Put in a reminder to make final payment for the cruise.
We plan on telling DD a week before our trip so she doesn't drive her classmates crazy.

Last year during our cruise it was 30 degrees below zero while we were away. I hope it doesn't get that bad this year...sure brings a smile to my face when I remember our cruise and we were in a much warmer (70's warmer?) place. :)

Has anyone been to Nassau? What are your thoughts about Atlantis?

We plan to make some tie dye Mickey shirts and will share the photos. How do you upload the photos?

Here's some pictures of Atlantis....you decide.

Here's us pulling into port at Nassau.

We're doing the excursion where you get to go on property for the day. We have been there before, but it's just so big that you can't do it all at once. Not to mention that it's beautiful too.

It's DH John's birthday that day and he said that he wants to spend it on the lazy river at Atlantis with a cold tropical drink in hand. Paradise.

:woohoo:This will be our second time on DCL. Our first was in 2003. Wow have things changed. We would love to join the FE. Thanks for posting the info links on them.

Thank you for sharing the Atlantis pictures. What an amazing and large place! Looks absolutely beautiful. I'm wondering if it's better to take the Disney package or just get to Atlantis on our own and pay directly to the hotel? I checked prices and it's definitely cheaper to buy directly from the hotel, but based on a first come first serve basis. Next have to determine whether we want to be tied to the Disney schedule of returning by 4:30 p.m. or go off on our own and take a taxi?

Hi,

We just went in August and booked Atlantis through Comfort Suites. Way cheaper!! Atlantis is huge so you will not be able to cover it all. It was very easy doing on our own.
