Do the crowds leave after the first of Jan? We are thinking of the first week of Jan for our next trip, only if the crowds are low. How is the weather? Thanks:D

Hi!

This past January I went for a few days with my dad on the 12-14 of January. WOW...it was great! No lines, no hassles, no problems. Weather was a bit cooler..I wore jeans and tshirt and had sweatshirt around my waist as nights were cooler. I have found the second week of Jan and the second/third week of Sept to be the best times. We have been there in June and July and it doesnt even compare.

The following week (Jan 19-23) DH and I went back down. We work for the airlines so we can travel a bit easier and Orlando is where we like to go! Anyway, Martin Luther King Day was Jan 19th and that week was busier as most kids have that day off school. We had more lines and had to deal with alot more people. Although, when talking to a CM, they said it really wasnt that bad considering what WDW can be. If you are used to going in Summer you probrably will be happy at anytime of January! Weather was the same!

So, my recommendation would be as Martin Luther King day is JAn 17th, 2004--to go the week of the 10th. I am not sure about right after the New Year so I cant comment. But, I know when I would go...it was worth it!

Have fun!

I vote for the week of the 10th too. After MLK day might be a good time too.:earsboy:

I've gone several times right after the first-1/3, 1/2, and two years ago, arrived on the first. Doing the same thing in 2005. It's amazing how quickly the crowds leave after the first. I still remember the reply of one CM when I commented to her how amazing it was that the crowds left so quickly. She said that everyone parties so much New Year's Eve that they don't have any money left so they have to go home! The first Enite I ever went to was 1/3 one year and it was so slow.
