Jansport Backpacks

Do you live near a VF(vainity Fair) outlet? That is the parent company of Jansport and they are always 1/2 off retail price. If you spend 50.00 total you get another 5.00 off with coupon (check out www.vfo.com). In the summer they have tons and I means tons of different types of back packs. I usually pick one up for my son when we go to Orlando but I also have an outlet near me.

Hey, welcome back. I've been watching for you on the other board.

There is an actual "factory" store near my house. The pickin's are pretty slim, but my dd can always manage to find a new back pack there. Throughout my kids lives, we always got them a Jansport back pack, because they are made in Wisconsin and we could always pick them up fairly cheap.

I don't think I have ever thrown any away. If I do, it is because I can't stand looking at it anymore. Plus you can throw them in the wash machine and line dry them.

You can get a great deal on them from Kohl's. Wait till a weekend if you want to get one online, use a online code for 30% off, plus they mark them down and you can get a sweet backpack.

Thank you. I am back. Slow, but back :thumbsup2

I am going to see if Kohl's delivers here to Canada. Thank you for the heads up...

Wow, this is great everyone. Thank you. Now I almost HAVE TO buy them what they want..

TY. I don't think we have this in Canada. At least not in my neck of the woods. Thank you anyway

I have had two Jansport backpacks. I got my first one when I was a freshman in high school and I used it for a couple of years until my dad accidentally spilled bleach on it in our laundry room. I still have my second one and I use it occasionally for road trips. I have heard that they have gotten expensive over the years like others mentioned ebags often have them on sale and some of the Footlocker stores in my area occassionally have them on sale.

I remember seeing them at Costco every once in a while for really cheap. I got one there when I was in the 7th grade for something like $15-20 that was $40+ anywhere else!

I like to get new backpacks, so I get them often (once every few years), I've drifted more toward The North Face backpacks now, they fit me better and don't hurt as much when I haul around all of my textbooks.

My mom was always super frugal with school supplies/ clothes...but this was the ONLY brand of backpack that she would buy for my brother and I. We could pick any style that we wanted AS LONG AS it had a leather bottom...and guess what...I'm out of college and still have 2 of my Jansports from high school. Definitely worth the investment!

Just wanted to echo what everyone else is saying. Jansports are great. I got mine in 1992 my soph. year in high school. Used it through high school, and college and my husband uses it now for camping and hunting trips. I won't say it looks brand new, but has really held up well! Holy Crap....It's almost 20 years old...I'm old:scared1:

Mine's 17 years old and still looks brand new. I've thrown it in the wash several times and it still holds up. Definitely recommend.

My DD has had Jansport for 7th & 8th grade and said that is what all of the kids use. In the 6th grade she had a cute Land's End backpack which I thought was better quality, but according to DD, Land's End is just not cool in middle school. So, starting in 7th grade it HAD to be Jansport. She got a new one in 8th grade that she loves and wants to keep for her 1st year in high school. At the end of the school year, I washed it in hot water (it's white with a plaid pattern), and it washed up really nice. No stains or dirt -- looks pretty close to new.

Now DS is starting middle school and wants a new Element backpack but DD is telling him to get Jansport because that's what everyone uses.

I love Jansport. Worth every penny. Mine lasted all through high school, college and vacations. Even used mine when my boys were babies and toddlers to lug all their stuff around.

Thanks everyone!! :goodvibes

I kind of thought they were great, but wanted firsthand feedback..

Now I headed over to ebags.com, and my DD11 wants the MOST expensive one there.(not happening) I will wait for DS14 to get back from the gym and place the order, with the discount it is great! TY to all for posting that reminder.

I love to get their bag purchases over with, and maybe this year my son can get by with just the one bag.

I remember as a kid I had a jansport backpack. The zipper broke so my mom sent it to be fixed (free) at the end of the school year. I was in 3rd grade or so? I got a postcard from my backpack that he was having a lot of fun at Summer Camp and came in 1st place in the Zipper Races. I got a kick out of it.

I got the same summer camp postcard from Jansport when we sent my bookbag back because the zipper broke! My friends and I thought it was hilarious!:rotfl2: Jansports are great, I used my first bag from 6th grade through about junior year, and I got a new one for college, and have been using that one for 10 years now.
