I woke up around 7 the day of the wedding, feeling quite calm, which is odd for me as I am a worrier.
I had an appointment at 8.30 at the Periwigs salon at the Beach Club next door for a manicure & pedicure. If you have the time on your big day, go and have this done, it was sheer bliss. The lady that did my treatments was lovely, but I just cannot remember her name now.
Back in my room at 10.30, Lisa Pena was already there with her Daughter and was already doing my Mum's hair & makeup. There were 7 of us to be done...my 5 bridesmaids, my Mum, and myself.
Well we had a great time, Lisa & her Daughter did a fantastic job of us girls, and I am really pleased that we chose her to be our hair & makeup artist.
They packed up their stuff around 1pm, and were then on their way to make up the models for a Disney photo shoot for Typhoon Lagoon. How fantastic!

Next it was time to get ready....I couldn't wait for this time of the day. The chance had finally arrived to put on my beautiful gown.
Just as I was getting ready the telephone rang. It was Damian. He had gone over to get ready at his Brother's room at the Beach Club, next door, along with all the other guys.
"have you by any chance got any of our suits?", he asked.
We hired 3 suits from Carolyn Allens. Some of the pieces needed altering, and they told us to pick up the suits from Bell services on the morning of the wedding.
As Damian had called from the Beach Club, he asked the operator to put him through to Bell Services at the Yacht Club, where the suits were being held.
Bell services answered & said they didn't have anything for us, and so everyone was starting to panic. They called Carollyn Allens who assured us they were definately dropped off at the Yacht Club Bell services that morning, so where were they???
At this point it was 1.15, and the wedding was at 3pm!
We insisted that Bell services looked again, as this was no ordinary day, it was a wedding, and we didn't want the groom turning up half dressed, or anyone else for that matter! After a while the Man at Bell services wondered if there was a mix up with Yacht Club/Beach club Bell services . There was!!!!
Apparently Damian had asked to be put through to Yacht Club B.S, but instead was put through to the Beach Club B.S. !! No wonder they couldn't find them. Phew!
This wasn't the only trouble they had. There were no clean towels in the room where they were getting ready. They asked housekeeping 4 times for towels and soaps. In the end one of the guys went off to find the housekeeping trolley for a bag of soaps and a pile of towels.
This wasn't the 5 star service they should have been getting.

After everything was finally ready, and their blood pressure was back to normal, they met our co-ordinator, karen in the lobby to get their bouttonaires and also have a few pictures taken by Randy then
off they went, outside into the glorious sunshine to the Yacht Club Gazebo.

At 2.45 Keren called my room and told me everybody was ready and in place.
I made my way down to the lobby with 'congratulations' coming from everywhere. That feeling is like no other. To be married at Disney was just a dream come true.
There in the lobby was Karen my EM, Reverend Jack, Randy Chapman, My 5 bridesmaids and my Dad.
Karen and her assistant filled up the flower girl baskets with rose petals and we made our way outside.
As soon as I stepped outside the bagpiper started to play and led us toward the Yacht Club Gazebo, where we lit our memorial candle for Damian's Mum & Dad that have both passed away.
Following the ceremony, which was conducted beautifully by Reverend Jack. (He is such a wonderful Man!), we had a toast, which we drank rather quickly as Minnie & Mickey was not able to join us until drinks were safely disposed of. I am not sure why this is, whether it is because of spillages or they think Minnie & Mickey might hit the headlines after being being spotted with a nice glass of champagne or something, I'm not sure.
Well anyway they joined us. It was FANTASTIC !!! It was just so nice to have them all to ourselves for once, and not have to queue.
We danced, posed for photo's and they helped cut the cake. Which was the best cake I ever had, and I am one cake lover!
I was really sad when they left. We posed for more photo's for a while around the boardwalk area and around the Yacht Club lobby.
Then our limousine arrived and started to take our guests to our next location...the VIP room at the American Adventure in Epcot.
We sure felt like royalty when we pulled up backstage at Epcot and was led through the gates and up to the American Adventure. Again we were congratulated from lots of people.
We made our way up to the room, that was just beautiful. It was decorated very elegantly with swags & tails at the Georgian style windows overlooking the World showcase. It was a room large enough for 40 people or so with stairs off leading to a separate dining room, which was also very nice.
We had drinks and then went into the dining room where a beautiful buffet had been laid out. There was so much of it, it barely looked touched.
One thing I found was that I just didn't have an appetite that day, nor did Damian, which is not like us at all, we love to eat out regularly.
Our tables were decorated in plain white linen with silver Mickey icon confetti scattered all over it. Each place setting was beautifully set out with Mickey name cards and a votive, and there was a huge Cinderella's coach in the centre filled with lilac & cream flowers to match my bouquet. It was lit up also inside with little fairy type lights, and was just so pretty!
On the childrens table we had a the lady & the tramp lantern decorated with ivy. The lights were dimmed and the votives and centrepieces were glowing beautifully. It was stunning.

Not long after we started to eat we were joined by a magician, who was very entertaining. He spent a while with each guest, including them in each trick. He was great.

Next up was our caricature artist. Everybody was treated to a picture of themselves as they have never seen themselves before.
We had such a laugh as tit-bits of information was fed to the artist that enabled him to make up some real funny pictures. He was worth every penny and our guests loved him. He stayed with us for about 3 hours.

At 8.45 we went outside to a specially roped off area to watch the illuminations. Many of my guests had not been to Disney before and so were moved at their first sighting of the 'reflections of earth'.
We went back inside for more laughs with the caricature artist and more drinks, where we stayed until about 10.45.
At the end of our evening, we were taken back outside for more photographs.
There was no one around at this time, but all the lights & music were still on. We took plenty of pictures by the bridge with the Epcot ball in the background.
Finally it was time to wind up and head back to our hotel.
The limousines came back to collect our guests and take them home.
It was just the most magical day I ever experienced, and would love to re-live it all again. But the memories will last for ever, and that will do for me.

Sounds like an absolutely perfect (well, except for the tuxedo scare!!) wedding day! Congratulations again!

Hi Janine, Congratulations, it sounds like you had a lovely day minus a few hiccups! Im sure ive heard you say before that you had an intimate wedding, i was wondering because you had your reception at the VIP room at the American Adventure in Epcot.
