Hi,
We're travelling to Florida from the UK at the end of Jan, beginning of Feb 2005 and were wondering if anyone could give us an idea of what type of weather we might experience.
Bear in mind that we're in the UK and our summers are pretty rubbish so 70 degrees F for us is pretty much a good summer's day ;)
Will it be warm enough to use the pools do you think and are we likely to have much rain?
Are any of the water parks likely to be closed during this time period?
Sorry if these seem odd questions but it would be nice to get an idea of what to expect.
We have visited WDW in April and August in the past so have experienced both a pretty dry period and a very soggy, wet and humid one ;)
Any information would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

This January (it was early 6th to 11th) we experienced nights in the 30's and most days in 50's but we did have 2 days warm enough to swim in the heated pool.

Thanks.
We're actually going 29th Jan to 15th Feb so maybe I should have put a later date as the thread :p

Florida weather can be very "fickle" especially during the winter months!

From experience I CAN tell you, our last WDW visit was during the first week of February this year and the weather was fabulous!

Cool, comfortable mornings and evenings yet warm afternoons. Although a front moved through one of those days and it was a little cool for swimming there were still diehards at the water parks:p And, if you're from the UK you may consider it warmer than what "we" consider warm!

If the sun is out it will be warm but if it is cool and cloudy it WILL feel cool (or even cold)--all depends. Be prepared for warm and cold because if you're there more than a week you're bound to get a little of everything!:p Overall this is a very enjoyable time to go. We actually timed it just right, low crowds and not too busy resorts. Less than a week after we came back I heard it got sooo busy!! And, it hasn't let up since:p

I know next month when we go back up we'll be sweating like crazy just beggin for those comfortable February days & nights!!:p :teeth:

:hyper:
Well, it can't be much more fickle than good old British weather. I'll probably give the pool a miss anyway but DD 6 will no doubt be oblivious to the cold regardless.

The pools are VERY well heated (at the WDW resorts). We have been the past 2 years in January, and I think the later in the month you go, the nicer it will be. Our first trip we started the day in shorts, hoodies and maybe a windbreaker. By lunchtime it was down to tshirts, and after the sun went down the layers came back.

DS swam almost every day in 03, only 2x in 04 (where we also had over night temps in the 30s)

I think you will have some good swimming weather, and it's not the swimming, it's the getting out the pool dripping wet that gets you! :teeth:
