Jan Ticket Upgrade?

I asked this question on a "watch" thread but didn't get any responses. So please, anyone who's already read this - forgive me!

I understand that last year, the January "bonus" was upgrading tickets from MWY to Park Hoppers or from Park Hoppers to Water Park & More. If I buy my tickets in advance to avoid the price increase (like from Undercover Tourist or AAA), will I still be eligible for any similar upgrade offered?

No, you had to book a package with a base ticket to get the upgraded tickets. You couldn't just hand over a ticket and say, "I want the hopper and water parks, please."
