It's the offseason. Rehabs for sure. Hours will be short during the week. Long on Friday-Sunday. Only the weekend will have the shows and parades. However WoC ran all year long it's yet to be seen what they will do they on slow days in it's second year of running.

Winter is when things get done around there. First thing in Jan. some rides may be down to take out the decorations from the holidays like IASW and HM. Sometimes some shows don't run every night but just on weekends.

So, go then if you don't mind missing some things. If it is a first trip, you may want to consider July or Aug when everything is up and running. Depends on what is important to you.

The operating hours will be shorter, and there will be less entertainment than other times of the year. There will be more rides down for their annual servicing, and the weather can be unpredictable. But the benefits far outweigh the negatives. We love traveling to the mouse in early Feb. Crowds are low, especially during the week, and many rides are 15 mins or less line ups during the week. The weekends do tend to be heavier when it comes to crowds, but that's common most weekends at DL during the year. So long as you are prepared, and watch the underground weather just before you go for current up to date weather, you'll be fine. It's a great time to go. You may want to consider a Character brekki if you are really into meeting Characters, and there are many good ones to choose from.

My family was there the week after Pres Week this year and it was great. Only a few rides weren't operating (small world, splash, grizzly river ride) and the wait time was minimal. I think the longest we waited was 40-50 minutes for TSMM but that was on a busy Friday night - during the weekdays most rides had less than 20 minutes wait and quite a few were walk ons including Buzz, Pirates and most of the Fantasyland rides. Space Mountain read a 15 minute wait but we were on in 5 minutes.

If you don't mind a few rides being closed, I'd recommend going during this time as it's much less crowded and more time to ride the rides open. We did most rides across both parks in two days, and had the third day on our hopper to ride what we wanted to again, as well as watch most shows and do lots of shopping!
