Aloha! We've been planning a trip to Hawaii for years (and canceling a lot) but I think next year it will finally happen. Our current plan is to do 7 days excluding travel days. So arrival on the island on a Saturday, leaving the following Sunday. Are there any months or weeks that are better than others crowd-wise from January to March?

Also, how many days would you give yourself at Aulani? We'd like to get a bit of the Disney magic but are also looking for a honeymoon resort that's more adult orientated. This trip is 2 adults only. I'm debating if we need 3 or 4 days there, or if two days/1 night would be enough?

March would be the most crowded but also have the best weather. January and February you run the risk of rain and warmish-but-not-quite-warm-enough-to-swim-all-day temperatures.

IMO, 8 nights isn't nearly long enough to do a split say. I'd say pick the resort that works the best for you and stay put for the duration of the trip. If you've never been to Hawaii, there's SO MUCH to do and see all across the island that I wouldn't want to bog down unnecessary time with unpacking/repacking/checking-in/checking-out.

So we just went last week Feb/first week of March and it was perfect. In between the President's Day Week and Spring Break crowds. Crowds at Aulani were not bad at all. I thought weather was great. At least at Aulani, I'm not sure we got rained on all week. Obviously on the other side of the island, rain can be more likely.

We stayed Saturday to Saturday. We had 2 days of travels around Oahu and left basically 4 full days at Aulani which felt about right. If you've never been, you need a day or so to acquaint yourself around property and see where the best seats are, try the different pools, etc. I would say if you don't leave Aulani at all while you are there 3 days/2 nights should be the minimum and I would plan on getting there early on the day you check in and not leave until nighttime on the day you check out.
