well well well arent we just the chatty group :rotfl2:

ok Welcome to the newbies - it took me a while to catch up between yesterday and today from all of the posts LOL but here is some tips from a past disney cruiser

You can print off images laminate them and put magnetic tape on the back and wa la ! UN MAGNET :-) people mostly put them outside their doors and other passengers dont tend to steal them although I have had a few missing - My door will be SLAMMED with them LOL I have a TON !

Must takes and dont forgets - Ear Plugs are nice if you have loud neighbors ( this has only happened to me once but I never forget them now LOL avail at any 99 cent store ) an multiple plug extension cord or plug in is nice since there or not many plugs in the room

A TOTAL MUST BRING YOUR HAIRDRYER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Disneys SUCK I can not express this enough !

Not much room in bathroom in the way of counter space so some people like to bring those hanging toiletry bags they are nice

some people like bringing a hilighter for the navigators ( you will get these each night for the following day and the day you board they are avail at the pursors desk )

thats about all the really important should brings I can think of - anyone ???? did I miss anything ?

I added 2 members to the FB group

Pirate night - you can but dont have to dress up there are fireworks and a HUGE dessert buffet so come hungry that night - they also have a custom made crepe station YUMMY

There is a midnight buffet one night

Diversions has good snacks like chips and salsa and veggies and dip and make your own tacos most nights till 11

you can check games out from diversions also and bring them back to your room

There is a secret deck 7 that is hardly ever crowded ( great for sunning on sea days ) dont let the kids play in the grass on that deck though It is Denvers potty box :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: oh thats just so funny :rotfl2:

Dont miss Golden Mickeys , toy story the musical and Dreams THEY ARE ALL MUST SEE SHOWS !

if you order soda or bottled water from room service you will be charged but tea coffee juice milk and choc milk are free from room service and soda is avail 24/7 on deck 9 and I think they also have hot chocolate there too

Movies under the stars is cool

AHHHH PHOTOS ! Dont be suckered into buying what you see and like right away - they will take your pics for free and sometimes people like the photos soooo much they buy them right away - YOU CAN WAIT till the end of the cruise sort through them and then pick what you like - They add up FAST price wise - Disney will also always take the same pic they are taking with your own camera ! Save a bundle that way !

boy am I chatty tonight LOL

Snacks and Drinks you buy in the movie theater or the theater where they show the big shows like golden mickeys - THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR

Coffee shops onboard will charge you AND they automatically add gratuity so dont tip em !

Palo - We have dined here and did not leave a tip as your 20 dollar fee IS the tip

Hmmmmmmm thinking
Karaoke is always more fun than one would think :-)

When you get your key to the world card at check in there will bee three letter on it ( think it is the bottom left hand corner not positive though ) it will read something like TAP or PAT or ATP thats your dining rotation T tritons A animators P parrot Cay - You can change it once on board if you dont like it

ahhh I think the bus idea for all of you San Fernando valley peeps is a GREAT idea :thumbsup2

and lastly before I close

ONLY :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana: 's left WOO HOOO !!!!!!

The bus idea is cool! I have a 71 VW bus...but it only seats 5! lol! I guess we can do some research and get some prices. Parking at the port was like $10/day or something like that.

forgot to add a couple of things

Its a cruise order as much of something at dinner as you like - if you want steak and then pork chops you can do it if you want all the desserts order them - if you want 2 appatizers GO FOR IT !

You must try a mickey bar providing Brumbie has not eaten them all by the time we all decide to order one :rotfl2: ( totally kidding Brumbie )

And you can ask room service for a pitcher of water ( its free ) and you can always bring a case of water onboard and put it in a duffle bag and check it - we did that last cruise

Do I have the correct room numbers for everyone?

To add on...

Not much room in bathroom in the way of counter space so some people like to bring those hanging toiletry bags they are nice

Yes! We bring one of these and hang it over the towel racks in the bathrooms. Much easier to find all of your things and it leaves the counter space open.

some people like bringing a hilighter for the navigators ( you will get these each night for the following day and the day you board they are avail at the pursors desk )

The navigators have a ton of information so we found this to be very helpful.

Pirate night - you can but dont have to dress up

My husband and I dress up in tropical attire rather then full pirate garb. At dinner they also give you a pirate bandana so we wear those as well.

There is a midnight buffet one night

Don't miss the dessert buffet!!

We waiting until the very end and then looked through all of our photos before buying our favorite one. Most of the photos will have something printed on the bottom corner like, "Disney Cruise" but if you ask, they will re print it without any writing for free!

We also like to bring hangy air fresheners for the bathrooms. The rooms are small and with multiple people it can get a little stuffy. We like coconut scents cause it smells so tropical!

There are coin washers and dryers on board as well as irons to use in the laundry rooms so if you need to do laundry, you can.

We like to bring thank you cards with us to write notes to our dining room servers and our stateroom host(ess). They are very appreciative of everything.

If you want the characters to sign pillowcases or photo frames you can bring them to guest services on the first day with pens. They will have them signed and returned to your cabin on the last night. We are excited about this. They don't charge to sign it.

Our room is correct, but we will try to upgrade at the port. Unfortunately, it looks like they are selling the few remaining cabins and there might not be any upgrades available.

The other day there was an upgrade to a big porthole, and I should have jumped on it, but I gave it a day and someone else swooped it up.

Hi everyone, for those of you who have cruised before - do you know if they give a lanyard to each passenger? I've read that they do, but that was from a posting from a couple years ago and haven't seen any recent ones. I'm debating whether or not I should buy some for my family. Thanks!

We were not given lanyards on our first cruise. I think that they give you one if you are a Castaway Club member though.

Carrey great to know about the thank you cards super cool idea........

We did laundry on the wonder lasr jan. And it is no longer coin op...u can use your key to the world. Card

No lanyards for first time cruisers but you can but them onboard think they are 7 bucks each...you can call dcl and ask

Sorry for the minced tryping on the cel again and voice read out can't keep up with my typing speed lol

Brumbie - When we originally booked our trip in mid Nov the rooms with verandahs were sold out. A few days before thanksgiving my mom was able to upgrade to the accessible suite. So I think you may be right that the ship will be sold out.

Very active group!!!
Thanks Cari and Carrey for all the tips!
I am so excited I cannot go anything else... I been slacking at work, reading more Trip Reports... I am packed and I have everything ready... the wait is killing me!!!!
Cari, thank you for the ideas about the FE, I was really freaking out... But I already packed plastic bags just in case.
Cari, I have a funny story for you. I have bought some snacks for Denver, including 2 boxes of milk bone, which was one for Denver and one for my doggies. I opened my dogs' box and gave them some snacks few days in a row, one of my dogs, Leia, is very smart and food driven and she learn the packaging sound. Well, the day I was preparing the FE,, she was keeping me company, just looking at me, I must of move Denver's snacks for her to recognize the sound. So I was doing laundry and went downstairs to fold and put a new load, it took me at least 15 minutes. The whole time I was downstairs, my dogs were so quiet...guess what? They tear up Denver's Milk Bones box and eat 1/4 of it... She acted very quickly and was able to break the box and dig in... it was so funny!! Denver wouldn't have approve their behavior, or maybe he would have join them in the fun. LOL!!! Anyhow Leia replaced Denver's snacks already. She doesn't want Denver to mad.

I have a question for those who have cruise before, have any of you tried the Seafood Buffet on Saturday (I think is Parrot Bay Restaurant, and according to the TR it happens on Saturday)
We have reservations for Palo's brunch, but our party is debating on which one is better...I mean I know Palo will be better, but in case we cancel our reservation is the buffet worth the sacrifice? Keep in mind we have reservations for both the Palo High Tea and dinner at Palo on our 4th night. I would truly appreciate the feedback.

That's odd, I don't remember the verandahs ever being sold out.
When I signed up in early November I had my pick of every category except Concierge. Then the cheap rooms sold out. Next the window rooms sold out. Then they did the GTY stuff and a bunch of the cheap rooms opened back up, but then they sold.

A week ago there were 14 verandah rooms left.
Today there is 9 left.
So they are slowly being picked away. I just hope I can snag one at the port.
I can afford to pay half of the cost of the upgrade, but not the full cost of the upgrade.

Even if I can't, I won't be upset. We booked a room we would be happy with, and even if we can't upgrade, we WILL be happy with our room. Especially since we got on deck 7. :woohoo:

Interesting....that is what we were told so maybe it is who you talk to or they release rooms slowly. :confused3 You were smart to book a room you are happy with and then try to upgrade.

Consierge was able to get my mom on the whale watching trip but not all of us. I booked it as soon we booked the cruise. When I tried to get us all on they told me there are limited boats allowed to go out and they only hold 15 people. I guess we will have to see if this is true....

Laalac we also have reservations for Palo on night 4. Thanks for the info on Saturday being the seafood buffet. I had not found it.

Looks like it's gonna be in the 80's next week in Cabo ...hope that keeps up when we get there!! :cool1:

Hey everyone... I NEED HELP!!
So I prepared my FE bags...I saw several pictures and there was pictures where people put their stuff in zip lock bags as a package... well today I received by FE (I bought it from Ebay) and it is kinda small... none of my zip lock bags fit!!! So now I am panicking.... what if my bags dont fit in your FE....what do I do??? Please let me know, I am panicking :(

I just got mine in the mail today and it is also much smaller than I expected. I ordered from gradysmom on ebay who I have seen recommended on the boards so I am hopeful that the size is what it should be.

Getting soooo excited. Have started packing but so much more to do.

There is no way our bags are going to fit in FEs! Maybe we'll divide up and give out over two days...who knows?!?! We hit the Disney Store at the Del Amo Mall in Torrance and picked up some really neato stuff for you guys! Do the doors have handles on them? If so, we might just slide the bag (cool bags BTW!) over the handle and be done with it.

Getting super excited for the cruise...especially now that the kids know! "Care-y"^2....thanks for all the super tips. We've got pillowcases and thank you cards...Keep the tips coming!

Lala - OHHHhhhhh MY GOODNESS ! Let me tell you I was rolling with laughter when I read about your dogs ! What kind are they ? and if Denver was there HE WOULD HAVE HELPED !:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: He is an ANGEL when in his harness but when he is off duty and not in harness he is just " A dog " LOL and FOOD - forget it ! He loves it !
