Are there some sites I can check out for more info on things that are going on during the cruise so I can make sure I am prepared! I dont want my kids to miss out on anything and I want to make sure I pack everything that is needed!

These sites have been helpful:

The packing list on the DCL website is good, too:

Which reminds me...we better start packing!

Every night you will get a "Navigator" which is a paper that tells you everything that is going on that day.

Some people bring highlighters so that they can highlight the things that interest them.

I wish I had more info, but this is my first cruise as well!

So how did the surprise go? I was so excited I dropped my iphone while recording and missed it...oh well! It's recorded in my memory, though! My kids are excited to meet new friends...glad our kids are so close in age. Will you be at the meet and greet?

We did it!! Yep, got it on video!! We did a hunt and made the kids (and momma) run up and down the stairs to find the clues!! Their last clue led to a box and inside was the DVD sent by Disney. My oldest was in shock, my middle was screaming and my youngest didn't quite get it at first. Yes, we will be at the meet and greet. We were able to get the first check-in time. Now, less than 2 weeks...we are SOOO excited. I'm glad they now know and I can involve them in all the last minute stuff! :rotfl:

Thanks for the info! We plan on going to the meet and greet. Is there a way for my girls to connect with other kids going on the cruise before the cruise. It would be really cool for them to already have a few acquaintances!

Just requested to join the group on Facebook. We are all so excited! Kids are ready to pack their things right now! Are there anythings that are a "must pack" for the cruise that a first time cruiser might not think of packing or forget to pack!!

DenverSees4Me is the admin for the group, so she's the one who will add you. She's usually pretty quick about getting people in, but if you're wondering why you didn't get in for a few hours, or maybe this evening, that's why. She's the only one who can do it. :)

Sorry, can't help you there. We don't have kids yet.

@MRSJAMES That is cool! I'd love to see the video! :woohoo: We wrapped up the cruise docs and the FE we got on ebay. We waited about 5 minutes after we unwrapped all of our other presents...and I announced, "Hey I think there is something else by the computer desk"...you know, like Ralphie and the BB gun! Kids opened it up and were in total shock and disbelief! It was a total surprise...then they went screaming and yelling all over the house!

Only a few more days now...see you at the meet and greet! Or maybe we can pull off the 14 on our way from Lancaster and meet you! LOL!

Oh, and since DenverSees4Me is using dancing bananas, I'll use cabbage patch dudes for my countdown:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: more days!!!

We'll be at the meet and greet! We have a 17 year old japanese exchange student as well as my 12 year old DD, 10 year old DS and 7 year old DS. They are all anxious to meet new friends to hang out in clubs!

@Canadian Disney Mom...that's the way we say things at our house too "__ more sleeps until..." seems to make the most sense when the kiddos are younger :)
@ichabody...hubby and i thought it would be totally funny if all of the families in this area (Santa Clarita/Antelope Valley) just rented a bus to take us there:lmao: What time are you allowed to check in at?

Welcome simsfam6!!! This is also our first DCL cruise. My mom and I are taking my two little girls. I have been reading the trip reports to get a lot of information. Plus it is fun to read.

We asked my girls if they wanted to go on a cruise and they said "NO! We want to go to Disneyland, then Sea World and then go home". They have no idea what a cruise is. They are starting to get clued into something big is coming as they try on their pirate costumes... They don't want to go on a cruise but they made daddy pack their new suitcases in the car to go out for pizza for dinner. :rotfl2: Love little kids. I am not sure how we are going to tell them or if a video would even be worth watching since they really don't understand and don't want to go....

Reading through posts for info and I am super bummed that I missed the whole FE stuff, sounds super fun! What is this about pirate attire? Should all of my kids be outfitted and what is it for?

We are all wearing pirate outfits, including my mom. Should be super fun.

Thanks Suzanne, I am surfing the web and finding out all kinds of things now! I too will be busting out some pirate costumes. I am now on this magnet thing. Do you know about the door magnets?!

I sort-of know about the door magnets...as in I know people put magnets on their doors :) I made 4 big princess magnets but now I am considering keeping them in the room since I don't want to lose them. I want something on the door. I have a white board too so that people can leave notes. Let me know if you have any other great tips. Cari posted a link on our FB site but neither of us has received a response.

I requested a invite for the FB page and Im just waiting for confirmation! Hoping to get that soon!
