how busy will the parks be? i know its the WDW marathon weekend and all..how crowded will parks be ? extra long waits?

Most of the resorts are sold out right now for those dates. Most people are there for the marathon activities so the parks haven't been too bad in the past. They are a little more crowded than normal, but it hasn't been too bad overall.

Actually the online booking says that their is availability in most of the Deluxe and home away from home resorts and at at least one value resort.

We will be in WDW from Jan 1-14. We are expecting the crowds to be heavier the first week because some schools don't return to classes until the second week in January. We've been during the marathon before and didn't feel that it was an issue for park crowds, just for transportation on the day of the event. It does cause some transportation issues

We were there from Jan. 1, a Sat, through Mon., Jan. 10 in 2005. It wasn't until the third or fourth day that crowds diminished, but by Tues. the parks were as uncrowded as I've ever seen, and they pretty much stayed that way for the rest of our vacation. The only impact the marathon had on us was we were froced to walk on the grass along the boat canal to MGM that morning as the sidewalk was part of the route, and once in MGM we had to wait briefly to cross the main street for runners to go by to get from one side of the park to the other. MGM's rides and attractions had short lines.

thank you all for the responses!!! i was a lil worried wen my DBF suprised me with the trip, i wasnt supposed to find out til the morning of our flight but he needed help with booking dinners n such! o boys!! lol. and when i found out the marathon was that weekend i was a lil worried, but thank u all you made me feel alot better about the trip!!!

We'll be there from January 3-9th. I'm getting so excited because its getting close. I was worried about the crowds at first...but now I decided that they aren't going to ruin my trip.
