Jan 3, 2004 Magic Cruise

Hey Brack,
Good to have you back on the boards again. As with you, I just finished the final payment on Molly's and my cruise/land package. :earseek: Wow, my checking account just doesn't look the same anymore. We are looking forward to seeing:magnify:to seeing you and Annette again.

Happy Cruising Matey pirate: ARGGGGGGGGG

A gentle bump as we were about to fall off page 1!

I need some help. After spending time on Frontpage making a webpage I have found that the sites I have access to will take Frontpage only if I pay a monthly fee. I am back to AOL Hometown. Please look at this site and make sure I have the captions right. I can add more pages as needed.

looks good Brack, thanks for your hard work keeping this going.

See you soon!!!!

Brack, looks great. One suggestion however. If you reduce the pixel count on the images to 72 dpi and leave them the same dimension they will load much faster and still not lose resolution on the web page. The first page of pictures took almost 7 minutes at 53kbps to load on my dial-up computer.

The picture at http://hometown.aol.com/majorbrack/images/allwdw.jpg is 285K + in size. My picture that I sent (the 4 of us) is only 45K in size and just about the same physical size on screen.

Use a paint program (I use Jasc's Paint Shop Pro (free trial download)) and resized the image to 4" X 2.788" @ 72 dpi and it is only 22K in size. Will load much faster.

All the best to you and Only 54 days to Go!!

The days are getting shorter...I can't till January. We have finalized our plans and here they are. I hope we run into some DISers on the excursions:p

December 31-January 3: Polynesian
Key West - Deep Sea Fishing
Grand Cayman - Capt. Marvin's 10:15am
Cozumel - Mr. Sanchos???
Castaway Cay - RELAX!!!

What is everyone else planning? Are we still planning a meet for Sunday morning?

Hi Amy!

We will be at Animal Kingdom Lodge Dec 29 - Jan 3! What are you doing for NYE? We have a 7:20 PM ressie at Rose & Crown in EPCOT. Don't think we will make it until New Years though with our younger ones.

We will also be doing Capt Marvin's, same time. Maybe we will be on the same boat (don't know if there are more than one).

Cozumel we are doing the 1:00 PM Dolphin excursion.

Regards,

Mark, Linda, Haley (8), Hannah (6), Kurt (almost 3)

We'll see you at Mr Sancho's. I hope a Sunday meet is still on. Anybody else interested?

yep, the Sunday meet is still on...
I'm assuming seeing as we're going in January, that we may not be able to meet outside on deck 9, so how about meeting at maybe the Cove?? Do they allow children in there?? we'll figure out a time soon. Maybe Diversions?? They may allow children... my daughter is 25, but I know many of our group have younger children, who may want to come too.

I'm going to PM a few of my friends, two who have cruised recently and one who will be going in December for some suggestions...and I'll get back with everyone soon..

So sorry for my delay in replying...we've been SO busy I'm never online anymore!

My 12 year old is a young 12 year old (innocent, naive?), and does fine with younger children. She's also a very quiet/shy kid with strangers...although watch out when she's around her siblings! As the youngest of 10, she has to be TOUGH to survive! LOL

Tell your granddaughter she can write to her at TheHouseHouse@aol.com, and I'll make sure she replies!

Jo, I used to live in Trappe but in Maryland not PA. One of my grandchildren on the cruise DGD is 11. How's your 12 yo handle someone a year younger? Get along OK? She is a little shy and trying to get her to come out of her shell a little.

:)

Jo, I will pass along the message to Meghan and hope that she will reply.

Any other 10-12 year olds wanting to email Meghan, please send email address to me in a Private posting on the thread or email me at Jancruise@dmv.com and I will pass it on to her.

LV, where on Eastern shore are you from? I grew up in Baltimore, graduated from Univ Md, spent many a summer at OC including lifeguarding for one.

MarkLem, Born & raised in Oxford, lived in Trappe for 25 years and now back in Oxford.

Trappe was the traffic light between Easton & Cambridge on Rt. 50 on the way to OC. Oxford is 10 miles west of Easton.

We may just be able to meet outside depending on what time of morning we meet. I live in Naples, Florida and we were outside fairly early Christmas morning last year in tee shirts so my son could ride his christmas present. And we all spent last New Year's Eve outside on our friend's lanai until very late in the morning, so hopefully we'll have the same weather that morning in Key West. I don't think that kis are allowed in The Cove, so that probably won't work.

Anybody else staying at the Radisson at the Port the night prior to the cruise?

:bounce: I can not believe it! I just check Dis Cruise website and punched in out Jan 3 date, people traveling and Cat 11# and the rate has dropped $200.00!! I called my travel agent and she thought I had made some kind of mistake...but nooooo, it is true and now I have an extra 200.00 to spend on extras at the ports :D

Just an FYI in case you guys want to check you Cat #'s! Good Luck!!

Hey Carolyn~
Ann is going on the 12/13 cruise and will check out Diversions for us as an alternate meeting place.. We can still plan on meeting on deck 9 and if the weather doesn't cooperate, we'll plan on Diversions, how does that sound??

Wow, what a rate drop! We are now within the 60 window. I wonder if a lot of people cancelled? Just for grins, I checked the Travelocity room availability tonight. I had checked the availability on Tues, 11/11 and there is a lot of difference in the number and types of rooms available. (Note: if Travelocity shows that there are 7 rooms available in a category, it means that there are *at least* 7 rooms available. 7 room numbers is the most it will show.) The table-ish type thing below (not sure how to format here) will show the category, availability on Tues and then number of rooms available Thursday (tonight).

Cat 11 GTY GTY
Cat 10 6 GTY (big change)
Cat 9 7 7 (same)
Cat 8 GTY 1
Cat 7 7 7
Cat 6 7 7
Cat 5 7 7
Cat 4 GTY 7 (big change- sent back by travel agents?)

As you can see there is still there is still a lot of availability in Cat 7 and up. (I just checked the table in preview and it is kinda hard to understand. Sorry!)

I would be willing to take one of those verandahs off their hands and let someone else have those scarce Cat 11s I have booked!!!!

Kathy

That would be great to have a Verandah:tongue: would be nice surprise for my husband & I 15th Anniversary!! heh, heh! I am just happy to have a 200.00 refund from my TA!

Just being on the ship is sooo exciting but a Verandah wouldn't hurt:p

:Pinkbounc keep on rocking in the free world!!:bounce:

Jeanny, that sounds great, what a great idea. I bet you're looking forward to some warm weather again. Boy it sure looks cold up there today! We had a cold front move through, but it's going to be 78 today. by the weekend it should warm up. I can always keep everyone updated on the weather down here right before the cruise if anyone is interested. One thing I'm looking forward to is Key West being cooler this time around, it was downright unbearable on our June cruise.
