Hi All,
Just got the following email about our upcoming Jan 29th Fantasy sailing:

We are writing with important information regarding your sailing on the Disney Fantasy this Saturday, January 29, 2022.

Over the past few weeks, we have been in regular communication with the ports of call planned for your voyage. Unfortunately, Grand Cayman is still closed for cruise line visits. Given the status of Grand Cayman, and the continued uncertainty regarding requirements and protocols for visiting other destinations, we’ve made the decision to modify your itinerary.

Your cruise will now feature stops in Nassau and our private island, Castaway Cay, in The Bahamas and Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico. The revised itinerary is as follows:
SaturdayPort Canaveral, Florida
SundayNassau, The Bahamas
MondayDisney Castaway Cay, The Bahamas
TuesdayDay at Sea
WednesdayCozumel, Mexico
ThursdayCosta Maya, Mexico
FridayDay at Sea
SaturdayPort Canaveral, Florida

Please know that our focus remains on the health and safety of everyone onboard. We will continue to implement multiple layers of health and safety protocols, considering guidance from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other medical experts.

Port Adventures previously reserved in Grand Cayman and Falmouth will be removed from your stateroom account. Those previously reserved at Cozumel and Castaway Cay will remain booked as scheduled. Cruise Activities are no longer visible on the website and will be adjusted to fit the new itinerary. Guests may view Cruise Activities and Port Adventures for Nassau or Costa Maya once onboard via the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.

Guests booked on this sailing may modify their sail date or cancel their sailing without any Disney-imposed cancellation fees, if applicable, by contacting their travel agent by Friday, January 28. Please note that change fees and cancellation fees imposed by third-party suppliers, such as airlines and hotels, as well as travel insurance, are not refundable. Disney-issued refunds will be processed back to the original form of payment.

We look forward to your arrival and know this revised itinerary will provide you with the first-class experience Guests have come to know and expect from Disney Cruise Line.

That's the same itinerary we ended up with last week on the Fantasy. Hopefully, you don't get stuck with just a half day in Costa Maya like we did.

I had to cancel this cruise in November. It's a Star Wars cruise and the itinerary was Western Caribbean.

Port Canaveral
At Sea
Cozumel
George Town, Grand Cayman
Falmouth, Jamaica
At Sea
Castaway Cay
Port Canaveral

Yep, Costa Maya for 4 hours. Not happy at all with these changes but we did not plan on any port adventures this time so in the end, not a huge issue for us. The biggest disappointment will be the weather difference at CC. Monday = 68 and partly cloudy. Friday would have been 80 and sunny....

We missed CC because of high winds on the rescheduled day. The weather was near perfect the day we were originally scheduled to be there.

Thanks for the update. Not thrilled with the line up. If this continues, we will cancel. Our 30 day checkin is tomorrow night.

So let me get this straight, we all knew GC was going to get canceled but to replace GC and Falmouth with crappy Nassau and Costa Maya, UGH!!! Thankfully I will be getting TANKED AF with tequila.
Unfortunately they seem to be running out of ports in the Caribbean. We don't really care because the ship is the destination for us.

we normally take this approach, but this cruise includes our adult kids and teen granddaughters. They love doing excursions. Their last cruise was September 2019 and they went on the western Caribbean. It’s not worth it to pay full price to go somewhere they’re not interested going to. We have 4weeks left to go.

Are these changes due to Covid numbers at the original ports?

Grand Cayman just has not reopened to any cruise ships. It's party due to covid and partly due to some concerns about damage to the reef that was being discussed before covid. I know Jamaica's numbers are high, but I don't know if DCL chose to not go there or if Jamaica has closed its ports.

Thanks for the update. We're scheduled to sail on the Wonder in less than two weeks with Grand Cayman still theoretically on the itinerary...just waiting to get a similar email. At least you got to keep Castaway Cay, our original Wonder itinerary got that taken away too.

I have this same original itinerary booked for March. I really booked it because of Jamaica! I will be super bummed if we can’t go. Why such short notice?

Cozumel area is now code orange as of yesterday and Cancun getting very close to code red. I don’t see how they will be stopping in Cozumel in the near future.

Mexico doesn't seem to care if cruise ships stop by, though, and I'm not sure if Disney much cares, either. Besides, where else would they go? Everyone else is shutting the door lately.

Got the itinerary change from Feb 5-12 Eastern to CC, Nassau, Costa Maya & Cozumel this morning. Ugh...not thrilled. So frustrating that we don't even know what excursions will be available to book. Really hoping they shift our reservations.

If you log into your reservation, you can see which activities are available by trying to book one. They'll all say "Sold Out" because you can't actually book until you're onboard, though.
