I'm new to the Dis board after being introduced by a gal named Karen. She comforted me at breakfast when we could see Casaway Cay 2 miles away but could not dock due to weather conditions. (Magic Western Jan 18-25 Our 4th Cruise).

I loved your posting! It is comforting to find others as "Ga-Ga" over a character as I am. Mine is Mickey and especially when he wears his red Captain's Jacket. I love to see the characters in clothes. They have such nice fasions! I try to coordinate my families wardrobe to color-coordinate with the characters outfits so we will look good in the photos! The photographer on the Magic "Raj from India" is good at giving me a discount after I spend $200! (Really, I'm glad to see that they have introduced the package special 20 photos for $149 as that started out as MY unofficial discount)

BTW-What is DCL Cruise College? How did you get your up grade on your stateroom?

Welcome to the DIS, TinkerBellMom! Yes - when I am in FL I even sleep with a <I>Plush Ahoy Captain Mickey</I>, as well as a plush <I>Chip</I>. :p For me the character encounters are one of the <I>best</I> parts of the cruise!

DCL <I>Cruise College</I> was an onboard course held on the 3-night <I>Disney Wonder</I> for a small group of travel agents. It was the <I>"Discover Uncharted Magic"</I> Agent Education Program. That was where I got "hooked" on DCL! I am a wildlife photographer and p/t travel agent.

The couple is Larry and June from Orlando. I refer to them in the "report." They are really TERRIFIC people, totally fun-loving and an apparently truly HAPPY couple. They always dressed in matching "Disney" outfits. They knew the guys in the band from seeing them frequently at <I>Pleasure Island</I>. They cruised without kids.

Great trip report! We ran into the same problem as you did at your original table with our servers -- the food sat until it was cold, simple requests went unanswered. The worst was when I couldn't get my favorite dessert at Triton's because we were running so late with the service (and we had actually arrived at 6 on the dot).

I always tip generously (as an ex-waitress myself) -- so we did leave the suggested amount. But normally on a cruise I would left something more than suggested had the service been outstanding.
