We had a bit of a problem with my DD (10 when we were last there) being too short, and the waves too high for her. She got really upset with all the salt water in her eyes/mouth. I know the tides shift up and down, and it was a REALLY windy day, but unless you wanted to hold them up and then lower them down to pet, it was not a good day for us!

So not only will I might have nervous children but also would have trouple holding them up if the water is too rough. Definitley risky to take little ones on this excursion.

I wonder if we should just check out the turtle farm. Does anyone know if the renovations are completed there yet?

On another topic. Does anyone have experience with sending packages to the ship ahead of time? I was considering shipping a box with our FE's and stuff just to save some room in our luggage. Is it even possible to send it from Canada? If so, wondering how much it would be?

oh and one more thing - I *think* our cruise is the least sold out of all the January cruises. I keep playing around with the reservations page and it appears as though for our cruise it is only the verandah rooms that are all booked (no doubt from the KSF offer) but on the other ones, a lot of the rooms are fully booked. In some cases it looks like for a family of 4 or 5, only Concierge level rooms are left...

I think this is a good thing. Less crowds! We shall see!

lol! Thanks for clarifying to my tired brain! That's funny, and also kinda sweet that your DH has a DIS account!! My DH enjoys Disney as much as the next person but when it comes to planning and researching or even THINKING about a trip ahead of time, it is 110% me!! I think if he shows up, the kids are reasonably well-behaved, there are reasonably clean clothes in his suitcase and a reasonably cold beer appears once a day, he'll be happy!

My DH has a dis board account.....he only has about 8 post but he has been on.....

Got a dress for DD tonight she isnt sure if it is for semi or formal but we got it at Ross for $26 wa hoping to find one for less.....But she is hard to please and firgured i would put $ out in time and gas if i kept looking so.....

Hopefully the next one is as easy to find!

we aren't planning to. i have heard great reviews but the food is so amazing onboard (well other ships i assume the same with DCL) that i havent felt the need or want to go out looking for even more plus its adults only and this trip is all about the family and we have 3 children with us. i know we are weird but..

Thats not weird at all. We are going only because our kids are older and will probably be hanging out with new friends more than anything else. This is all about what makes them happy but we figured since they will probably want to be in the clubs, we can take advantage of a few hours alone.

I suppose there is no rhyme or reason to free upgrades but it was kinda exciting to me (already 5 people in a CAT 4 with the KSF) to see that there were a bunch of concierge cabins still open. I was thinking - hey DCL- we are very happy with the room we picked but if you really, really need it for someone else, we'd be willing to *sacrifice* and move to a suite for free. LOL! Wishful thinking, eh?

I will check again in a few days to see if the open rooms change a lot after this PIF date..

I got brunch! It looked like 10:30 on day 6 was available but that kept giving me an error. I chose Key West day at 10 am and that worked fine. I know the first day is not ideal but earlier is better for us because we don't want DS in the clubs at lunch time due to his allergy. So I'm happy! Hope everyone else gets what they want too!

We got brunch at 10:30 on Day 6 and everything else we wanted. Whoo hoo! Since I had to get up at 4:30 for work, I see a lot of caffeine in my future today!

I got everything booked last night/early this morning, but I made a "rookie" mistake. I was so fixated on Palo dinner on the night we wanted it - and our excursion in Grand Cayman - that I didn't book brunch. I should say that by the time I thought of brunch - only one was left and didn't work for us. Oh well - maybe next time!

When my husband went to bed last night, he said "I don't know why you're staying up . . . we're going to have a GREAT time . . . it doesn't matter where we eat." I know he's right, but it was kind of fun to stay up and have the adrenalin rush!

I hope everyone got everything they wanted. If not - we're still gonna have a GREAT TIME!!!!
